### 5/5 — Left me wanting more

*2024-10-15, version 1.3.3*

I love this game. It’s simple enough to follow and complex enough to be engaging. I just keep thinking about how cool it would be to get more random encounters. The odds of this after five years since the last update are small, but my love would only grow.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2024-06-22, version 1.3.3*

Thank you so much for making a game without microtransactions! Besides that, the game is really fun. I’m a console gamer and so i don’t play mobile much anymore. But when i got this game, its was fun after the first game. Thank you for making this! -Gamer who is going to keep this game on their phone for a long time

### 5/5 — Extremely underrated

*2024-05-23, version 1.3.3*

I previously deleted this game for space on my phone but i really do love this game. Its so fun and dynamic

### 5/5 — Storyline

*2024-04-17, version 1.3.3*

It just occurred to me that every time you go through the game could take place in the same timeline. Since each only has 1000 people it doesn’t matter how many times you play humanity is still wiped out. You could say that they just built a bunch of ships and sent them out in different directions for the best chance of survival. Just got it and already loving it.

### 5/5 — Great game!!!

*2024-03-19, version 1.3.3*

I’ve had this game for a few years now and every so often I come back to it. The replayability of this game fascinates me. I’m always striving to get a new high score (I’m gonna get 12k at some point).

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2024-02-08, version 1.3.3*

Very fun game to replay. Lots of challenging decisions to make.

Wish the developer would update it. Lots of bugs now :)

### 5/5 — A game that isn’t going to waste your time.

*2024-01-22, version 1.3.3*

It’s simply a great game, nothing more nothing less.

### 5/5 — Bestest game

*2023-12-10, version 1.3.3*

This is a throughout and amazing game, and I have been playing it for hours. It’s really made me think about the universe in general. The only thing I think they could add is if they made a thing where you could view all the different things you can get and how they effect your score. Like it would show all the different technology levels and how many points they give you. I also question if ejecting the dictator ever works. Other then that, bestest game since one game 4 years ago.

### 4/5 — Good but wish it was longer

*2023-12-06, version 1.3.3*

Please make a longer version of after you land, back story, choices of life and death or progression with characters and even pictures if you can.

### 5/5 — Please Update😭

*2023-10-08, version 1.3.3*

Ive been playing this game for 6 months now and i can say it’s extraordinary. That seens a bit far fetched but it is! For a game so simple its really immersive and interesting. I have almost no complaints, but it would be cool if there were more events and you get to know more about what happens to the colony. But my major issue is that this game hasnt been updated in 4 years. It would be great if you could but sometimes there are other things to do….

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-08-28, version 1.3.3*

Hi! I spent the past two days playing this in my phone browser, then paid some money to download it on my computer, realized there was an App Store option, and decided to do that to switch back to the phone interface while still being able to save more of my runs. However, there is a weird glitch in the app where the box of my ship stats doesn’t scroll along with the page, but it also doesn’t stay fixed at the top of the window; when I need to scroll down to read about an event or see my final scores, the stats box jumps random up and down the page as I scroll. The game itself I love! But this glitch is annoying.

### 5/5 — love this game!!

*2023-08-26, version 1.3.3*

so fun to play! i definitely saw myself becoming an evil AI when I started stress testing just how far humanity would go to survive on those desolate planets... to be fair I would put them on a paradise planet and they'd built a slave society!!

### 5/5 — love it!

*2023-08-17, version 1.3.3*

it's great. i made an information age police state, which i consider as victory!

### 5/5 — One of the coolest text based games ever.

*2023-08-14, version 1.3.3*

This was the first game I downloaded on my new iPhone 14 having played several other space games on pc I wanted to see if there was one on the ap store for my new phone but didn’t want anything battery draining or that would overheat my phone so I saw this and thought I’ll give it a try. Pretty cool game it’s definitely a strategy game even without all the flashy graphics you’ll enjoy the game it allows for a lot of imagination and gives you details to help form in your mind what it is that’s going on.

Not only does it allow you to make decisions it also gives you bonuses and incentives for having made those decisions but also there are consequences.

Do you keep all the colonists alive safely nestled in their cryo sleep chambers or do you sacrifice them for the good of the ship? Do you sacrifice one scanners ability to make that life saving maneuver that may alter the course you’re on and end in disaster or do you keep that scanner intact and push the seed ship to its unknown limits. You get alot of play room to decide on what it is you’ll prioritize. Reading will go a long way for you in this game. There are many uncertainties and different paths.

My stats were quite low and I was on my very last probe I had traveled for millennias and lost much of the ships cabilities to sustain any safe trajectory towards choosing a place to colonize luckily enough I managed to avoid having my colonists being sucked into a black hole at least twice, the victims of a same scenario at least once and likely killed by warring nations one planet while also escaping likely uncertain doom. I don’t want to spoil it but it’s likely impossible to spoil with so many different outcomes possible.

Definitely give it a shot.

### 1/5 — Bugs, slow load up, gets stuck

*2025-08-02, version 1.3.3*

I love this game always have with they would update it more

### 1/5 — Awful

*2024-05-13, version 1.3.3*

30 seconds of gameplay and purely random outcomes, why are there positive reviews for this? £9.99 for the sequel haha

### 1/5 — Disability Accommodation Request

*2021-09-08, version 1.3.3*

GREAT GAME

Please add a feature for the visually impaired to enjoy this masterpiece.

### 2/5 — Nothing after landing

*2023-09-24, version 1.3.3*

Sad I can’t manage the colony after landing and that the game ends so soon after landing. Could have been fun making decisions after landing.

### 2/5 — There was an attempt

*2022-04-16, version 1.3.3*

Interesting story. I liked how it survived on its own for so long, and the moment AI-human took over, suddenly it was bad news for all involved.

I didn’t enjoy being given really bad planets, over and over and over and over and over and over, while my ship was slowly being torn apart by comets and supernovas and such.

Figured was just a bad start, they happen. But turns out the only way to restart the game, is to ‘complete’ the game? I assume I ‘beat’ it, because shortly after I landed, it was just over. Zero warning, option for title screen.

Huh. I’ve played mobile ads that were more engaging. 😢

### 2/5 — Interesting Stories, Bad Gameplay

*2020-08-06, version 1.3.3*

Each story is somewhat interesting, but you can just found a colony on your first planet no matter how bad it is and they will always survive with at least half of the colonists. There’s no point to playing this game anymore knowing you’ll always succeed if you do nothing. Why bother busting up your ship to have a chance for failure when you’re guaranteed to survive on whatever you start on? Sure, I got Stone Age tech on one, but it was still a successful colonization.

### 3/5 — The stats menu is messed up

*2026-03-18, version 1.3.3*

Good game but the menu moves and blocks the text during gamplay pls fix

### 3/5 — Needs update

*2024-10-07, version 1.3.3*

Amazing game! Simple yet elegant, it just keeps dragging me back. It does however need an update for modern devices.

### 3/5 — Needs an expansion

*2023-09-30, version 1.3.3*

This is good but only feels like part one. The Seedship should continue administering the colony affairs and handle decisions etc to grow the colony and make it more advanced. Game should not end only when we land.

### 3/5 — Feels too stacked too often.

*2022-12-03, version 1.3.3*

When this game works it’s amazing and every choice can feel balanced, got it to help me keep my brain active during chemo, but out of about six months of playing this once a week for three hours a day it’s often more frustrating than rewarding, it’s not bad, but it feels too punishing, and while I understand it’s not a power fantasy, it has a score system that is based on how merciful the RNG was to you which I feel defeats a lot of the purpose while just adding to that frustration. You can do little to control anything, while being judged based on that little bit of control.

It’s strength is it’s narrative, the rest is pretty weak.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I Keep Coming Back

*2026-07-08, version 1.4.0*

One of the simplest games on my phone is also my most beloved. I keep coming back, year after year, trying to beat my high scores. The writing is excellent; somehow even after having read the scenarios dozens of times, they still resonate. I wish there were more games that captured my imagination like Seedship.

### 5/5 — Genuinely Great

*2026-07-08, version 1.4.0*

Play this right before bed to help me unwind, and it’s brilliant! Thanks for the recent update and for the many years of fun and adventure!

### 5/5 — Solid Twine Game

*2026-03-30, version 1.3.3*

An inspired and enjoyable game, and a great example of what can be done with Twine! You are looking at about 60 minutes of play, but I’d prefer that over something that goes on and on. It’s a light and short narrative experience. I’m grabbing Chiron Gate next!

### 5/5 — Smart simple fun

*2026-01-05, version 1.3.3*

The gameplay is simple & the same every time, yet it’s extremely replayable. I love uncovering all the imaginative events that John designed, and finding the best (or worst hehe) possible endings for my colony.
Not updated in ages, has some small bugs but they don’t spoil it.

### 5/5 — Charming push-your-luck game

*2025-09-26, version 1.3.3*

This game seems simple, but it has many hidden depths and surprising turns, and is a really fun diversion when I’ve got a few minutes to kill. I love the way it forces you to trade off the destruction of your ship with your desire to just get to a planet where your colonists will thrive! Worth a download to check out.

### 5/5 — Its good

*2025-09-19, version 1.3.3*

Unfortunately very little content when it comes down to it but what is there is very good

### 5/5 — Fantastic, only problems come from iOS

*2025-05-07, version 1.3.3*

The UI has had some odd issues on the current versions of iOS that have been a little discouraging to play 3:

But for many moons I played nonstop for hours trying to find the best places to land, the best combination of variables, ETC. It fascinates me to no end the possibilities (I did get annoyed a handful of times by the random chance for damages in certain events).

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2025-01-15, version 1.3.3*

Amazing game. Very much enjoying it! Really makes you feel for the AI you control. So many outcomes has kept me coming back for more. The only issue I can find is that when I encountered a Dyson sphere and it destroyed my ship, when I clicked continue it restored all of my ships sensors to 100% and went on to another planet despite saying it was too late to get away. There was no explanation. Not a huge deal, just took me out of my immersion a little. Carry on! I highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Marvelous game! For your own sake, you may want some advertisements though.

*2025-01-04, version 1.3.3*

I absolutely love this game but I don’t understand how you’re even breaking even with it. You’re not charging anything for the game, don’t have any in-app purchases, and have no advertisements! I think that you could maybe add some advertisements after every 3-5 voyages. That way, you make a decent amount of money from them and the players get to enjoy their game without too many ads!

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2024-10-26, version 1.3.3*

Love it, astoundingly adventurous & fascinating. I love that it’s made like a lot of early adventurer games, nothing but text & a the essential visual indicators for the condition & number of important things on the eponymous “seed ship”. The best part is likely that the the limits the game has in terms of narrative progression, conclusion & anything in between is enough to make the mind think & think & think, “oh the places you’ll go”-dr Seuss 🥰 it’s just so wonderfully fun
