### 3/5 — It is getting too complex

*2026-08-13, version 6.142.0*

With those strong applicates, certificate verification, seek profile etc, it is getting more and more steps for candidates, employers not necessarily will look and check those functions on seek.

### 3/5 — Job search

*2026-08-12, version 6.142.0*

This is a good job search website, if there is one thing I would change - display search results based on the latest job advert. Or at least have a way to order it. It’s frustrating when it shows old jobs first. The email notification also sends jobs almost a day later which is frustrating.

### 3/5 — Seek search filters - irrelevant results

*2026-08-09, version 6.141.0*

Unfortunately, SEEK’s search feature seems to be getting progressively worse. I have used SEEK for years, but over the past 6–12 months I have become increasingly disappointed and frustrated with the quality and relevance of the search results.

I am searching within very specific Business Administration categories, such as Office Manager and Executive Assistant roles, in specific locations. I also have the appropriate filters set for Administration and Office Support. Despite this, SEEK continues to push completely irrelevant jobs into my search results. I am even receiving mechanical and trade roles, which have absolutely nothing to do with my search criteria, experience or selected filters.

What is the point of providing detailed search filters if the results do not actually match them? It is becoming ridiculous and wastes a considerable amount of time having to scroll through irrelevant positions just to find jobs that meet the criteria I have already entered.

I have started looking at other employment platforms, and some appear to be much better at taking users directly to relevant job categories, descriptions and locations.

What is particularly concerning is that after I confirmed my identity and right to work in Australia through SEEK, the relevance of my searches seemed to become even worse. At this point, the search function feels like a total shambles.

I agree that SEEK’s visual design and general presentation are good, but that means very little when one of the platform’s most important functions — helping candidates find relevant jobs — is not working properly. The same problem also applies when searching SEEK through the website rather than the app.

It is a shame because I have used SEEK for many years, and I have never found its job-search functionality this poor. This is something SEEK seriously needs to investigate and improve if the platform is genuinely intended to help candidates efficiently find suitable employment.

P.S. I also believe recruitment agencies and employers should be more closely scrutinised regarding the advertisements they post. There appear to be questionable or potentially non-existent job advertisements, positions advertised without salary ranges, and situations where agencies seem more interested in adding candidates to their database than recruiting for a genuine vacancy.

Salary transparency should also be a basic requirement. Candidates invest considerable time applying, communicating with recruiters and attending interviews. Job seekers deserve clear and transparent information about whether a position genuinely exists, what it involves and what salary range is being offered. Candidates are not stupid, and these practices are increasingly obvious.

### 4/5 — New listings error

*2026-08-07, version 6.141.0*

Good app but recently started playing up with the number of new matches often incorrect or shows listings I’ve already seen. Quite annoying

### 4/5 — Great service, wage detail & clear work location would make it exceptional. New jobs now glitches

*2026-08-05*

Great service, a little more gradation on wage and detail on physical work location would make it exceptional.

With a desire that work commute has less of a climate / personal impact more detail on the work location would help. Presently the organisation often has to be googled and the location searched in google maps to calculate the potential commute. Adding a map location link, where possible would help.

New jobs feature was good but numbers now glitch and jobs have to be viewed multiple times. Latest update 5 August 2026 has not resolved this.

### 4/5 — Locked out of app for no reason!

*2026-08-05, version 6.141.0*

Been locked out of app for several days. After being told it will reset in 24 hours, I attempted again & still cannot log in! Frustrating also, is that if you have the app on your mobile, the website won’t allow you to view anything either! So you have to close app to use it online! I don’t understand all this need for security to verify online if I’m a human or not, it’s a job seek app, not a banking app! With all these parameters, I still cannot access the app!

### 4/5 — Good, but..

*2026-08-02, version 6.138.0*

Lately the app is saying I have “x” new results in my saved searches, only for it to show nothing. This is recent, a few weeks ago it never behaved like this.

### 2/5 — Buggy lately

*2026-07-25, version 6.138.0*

Previously a great app, now it’s really buggy and not displaying jobs that should be there. Please roll back! Sometimes I get no jobs at all for the same filter even though it was there a second ago. Really frustrating.

### 1/5 — Can’t update!

*2026-07-22, version 6.104.0*

Why would you stop providing updates to phones with lower versions!

### 1/5 — Jobs

*2026-07-19, version 6.137.0*

Too many unrelated jobs when searched

### 2/5 — Needs an overhaul

*2026-07-16*

I’ve been using the seek app on and off for years and I’m it really hasn’t changed all that much for a long time. The search functionality could be a lot better, you can still only add in basic details into the search and when I’m looking for a head of operations role and I get accounting or engineering roles it gets frustrating to scroll through a tonne of roles that aren’t appropriate just because it’s picked up on a key word like operations. Some advanced search features would be really helpful.

Also the “new to you” feature too often shows me jobs I’ve already seen (even jobs I’ve saved!!) and will sometimes refresh with 99+ roles showing me listings from 2, 3 or more weeks ago even though I’m clearing the new to you jobs daily and have been doing so for weeks.

Also, small annoyance but seeing the same job listed 5 times for 5 different cities can add clutter to the feed. Surely the location field can be updated to include all locations rather than having to repost the same ad multiple times.

About time for an overhaul seek!

### 1/5 — Overrated

*2026-07-16, version 6.137.0*

Very overrated, seek never help me land any jobs, been using years. Better using job agency fast and they actually find you a good job. 👎👎👎

### 1/5 — This app sucks

*2026-07-15, version 6.137.0*

No point applying for anything on here because you won’t get selected and managers and robots don’t want to give you a chance at working

### 2/5 — Not helpful

*2026-07-15, version 6.137.0*

SEEK is always made out to be the best way to get a job and great work experience however that couldn't be further from the truth! Unless you have 500 degrees and 30 years experience in whatever area you want to work in- you won't be getting a job. And that's not necessarily SEEK's fault, however they have a filter + search option for beginner and entry level work and you still can't get a job because you don't have x y and z. Super disappointing and wouldn't recommend.

### 1/5 — No feed back

*2026-07-15, version 6.137.0*

You apply and hear nothing either the potential employer or seek.

### 1/5 — Constant irrelevant push notifications

*2026-07-12*

The app is easy and convenient. However, despite having very specific saved searches, I am getting multiple push notifications for jobs that are in no way even related to the industry I work in. I have a degree in Oral Health and get notifications for construction jobs! Even if they are within the dental field, they are for dental assistant positions. I remember now why I deleted the app previously and I will be doing the same again now because it is beyond irritating. The only option I have is to turn off push notifications all together, which means I miss out on notifications for actual relevant jobs. There should be an option to turn on push notifications for “Relevant” jobs or “All new job postings”. It is such a waste of time

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App broken?

*2026-08-14, version 6.142.0*

Do they not realise their app is broken? Nothing works, I can’t even sign in after signing out

### 1/5 — New update crashing

*2026-08-14, version 6.142.0*

App will not work since latest update. Will not load any search options or allow sign in.

### 1/5 — Horrible search engine

*2026-08-10, version 6.141.0*

It never once matches me with the right list of jobs. The search engine is at its worst.

### 1/5 — Going downhill

*2026-08-08, version 6.141.0*

What on earth is going on with the “New to you” feature in saved searches??? From the Saved Searches page it says 12 new, so I click into that search but from there it shows 0 new. But then I toggle from All to New and it says 8 new. I go back to the main screen the amount of new is different again. Clock back in and get different numbers every time! I have 6 search templates set up and they’re all doing this and it’s making it practically impossible to keep track of what jobs I’ve seen and what’s new. All I can say is thank god for the date filter - it’s the only thing keeping me from deleting the app completely. Fix it please! Job hunting is stressful enough!

### 1/5 — Worst

*2026-08-04, version 6.141.0*

This buy far is the worst app.
All the details should be asked by company not seek. Some resume doesnt reach because of small issues its not seek problem. Seek is just a messenger so should act as a messenger. It should be that simple for everyone . Not everyone gets a chance because of this upload this and that.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-07-30, version 6.138.0*

Complete and utter garbage, why complete a “job profile” when it’s a simple regurgitation of what’s already in one’s CV?
Also during the job search the same jobs constantly come up while scrolling.
They also allow poor quality, under qualified foreign applicants to bombard the employers email system losing all quality applicants within the trash

### 1/5 — App feedback

*2026-07-28, version 6.138.0*

Rubbish app. Too difficult to narrow down job types using filters.

### 1/5 — NOT NEW ENOUGH

*2026-07-26, version 6.138.0*

I would often use the Seek app before they decided my iPhone was TOO OLD to run it.
If I want to use it now I must do so via the internet, which, this is good, has constant pop-ups telling me I should download the app..go figure..or spend $800+ on a new-ish iphone which will have a younger IOS capable of opening the app.
Seems Seek Australia are not interested in providing assistance to those of us who don’t feel the need to waste 100’s of dollars upgrading their as-new condition, 100% working iPhone for no good reason.
A clear case of Discrimination against Non-Mass Consumers! IMO

### 1/5 — New ai feature is the worst thing week has ever done.

*2026-07-25, version 6.138.0*

You can’t disable it or see the jobs that are actually advertised. Not only is seek ripping off employers who pay for advertisements it’s also severely limiting the amount of applicants coming through. What a joke.

### 1/5 — App Login issue

*2026-07-22, version 6.138.0*

I like your website, it's been assistive on desktop. Due to your iPhone app requiring a login redirect to another website to login rather than directly in app. on website 'More than 20 redirects' - Please resolve this to just login within app do I can use.

### 5/5 — LUV

*2026-07-05, version 6.135.1*

I’ve had a positive experience using Seek throughout my job search. The platform is straightforward to navigate, with a wide range of opportunities across different industries and experience levels. I especially appreciate the search filters, which make it easy to find roles that match my skills, location, and career goals.

The application process is simple, and having access to company information and job details helps me make informed decisions before applying. Seek has been a valuable tool in connecting me with employers and exploring new career opportunities.

I would recommend Seek to anyone looking for a reliable and user-friendly job search platform in New Zealand and Australia.
