It now gets its own syllable wherever it falls — after a dagesh forte, under ב כ פ, anywhere — while וַיְהִי stays "vay-hi", where the sheva is silent. פְּנֵי keeps its dagesh and its tsere, and Elohim is said the way it is said. • Phrasing by the te'amim now covers every volume, not only the Old Testament — including the Pearl of Great Price where it follows the Tanakh • A word can no longer be skipped as the reading moves; the rule that caused it is gone • The speaking speed is measured for each rate rather than estimated, so the word that lights up is the word you hear ### 5.1 — 2026-09-14 READ ALOUD More pronunciation repairs, found by ear: צִוָּה is "tsivah", not a /u/ — a dagesh in a vav that carries its own vowel is a doubled consonant, not a shuruk — and מְצַוֶ spoken "mitsveh". READING • Swiping to turn the page works again; the app was intercepting the gesture • A link that leads outside the scriptures now opens in your browser instead of replacing the reader VOCABULARY A set folds its words away once you mark it learned, so what is left on screen is what you still have to learn. FINDING YOUR WAY Every volume now carries its English name on its own landing page. The Old Testament is called the Old Testament, the New Testament says what it is, and the Book of Mormon landing explains how to read an interlinear.
