From the reviews I read about sEGments I really hoped I was going to get something superior to that estimable app. I don’t think so. I find the UI in sEGments to be a bit clunky, compared to Re-Slice - and that app has a rather wonderful arpeggiator built in. I bought this because I didn’t want to fork out for Sugarbytes Egoist. Can you please give me more details at info@elliottgarage.com ? ### 4/5 — Great app but *2022-07-10* How can I find share and export to other app?? ### 5/5 — 5 Star rating BUT…. *2022-05-25* I gave this app five stars but there are two flaws that are so critical they are the reason why I am not a famous producer right now…When you’re recording audio directly through the record feature if your phone or tablet is set to sleep after some amount of time the app doesn’t stop it from sleeping and you lose your recording. this is sort of a dealbreaker and unforgivable please fix it. The next related issue is that you cannot record once you have started a project you can only record from the initialization screen. Why? Like add a lock per slice and then be able to move the slice node to stretch that particular sample. Thanks, Andrea ### 1/5 — Having issues *2023-03-14* It was working fine and then recently, When I set a sample from a folder into the project as a AU, to change sample, it used to take me to the exact folder I got the previous sample from… now it resets it every time to the cloud drive and I have to locate the splice sample folder all over again …a mapping issue I think but veryfrustrating …also periodically the sampler doesn’t load in the project and has to be restarted …we’re it not for the project I’m currently working on I would have jumped ship to something more stable ….this has started happened in the last month or more … **Developer response:** Hi Mikky, can you please write at info@elliottgarage.com with more details about your problem? Keep your money or look into something else. ### 1/5 — good app, unfortunately useless for me *2021-07-15* hello i wanted to get my money back for the app. unfortunately i can't find any use with the app ### 1/5 — 🚨🚨🚨🆘Segment Big Bug And no auto-load track 🆘🚨🚨🚨 *2021-04-27* Big Bug "Segment" with Cubasis 2 1 The application tends to disappear or to deactivate while working 🤷‍♂️🤔 2 does not load the samples used on the tracks like a virtual synth😠, forcing to do a search on all the tracks using “Segment” this discourages working with “Segment” 😰, roughly it gives this: If the application is deactivates, we have to completely deactivate Segment of the track used and select it again but as the segment does not automatically load the samples, 🤦‍♂️ we must find the sample which has been working the library if we have saved the work, otherwise everything is lost and you have to start all over again, under these conditions it is almost impossible to work calmly or simply to work 😣😖😤! Please🙏🙏🙏, if it wasn't for that you would be the best at sample handling, please 🙏fix the bug that disables the app and make sure that the sample work is automatically loaded on the tracks when you open Cubasis, that “Segment” remains as it was left when closing Cubasis, like all Auv plugins. ### 1/5 — Bedienung buggy. Saugt den Akku leer. *2021-03-03* Die Slices werden nicht bis zum Ende abgespielt und es wird willkürlich irgendwo in der Nähe des Schnittpunkts abgespielt, aber immer ein paar Sekunden versetzt. Außerdem saugt die App den Akku leer. Trotz Nichtnutzung und Flugmodus zieht die App 96% des gesamten Energieverbrauch im Hintergrund. I’m about to show the world how powerful this app and the developer is! ~ Lumbajack ### 5/5 — sEGments changed the game ! *2025-12-06, version 1.1.16* Elliot Garage changed the game with Segments. This isn’t just another sampler—it’s a sound-design playground that gives you surgical control over every slice. Whether I’m chopping manually or letting the automatic detection do the heavy lifting, the workflow feels smooth, intuitive, and genuinely inspiring. It’s rare to find an app that turns sampling into pure fun—Segments does exactly that. For years, I relied heavily on BeatMaker 3 for my sample chops—an absolute beast in its own right—but I always felt boxed in since I couldn’t use my chops across different DAWs that better fit my evolving workflow. Segments fixes that. Now I get that same detailed chopping experience, but with the freedom to move seamlessly between apps. On top of that, being able to work on chops anywhere—whether I’m on my iPad or even my phone—is a complete game changer. Honestly, Segments is the closest thing we have to Serato Sample on desktop, but built natively for the iPad ecosystem. It feels like the missing piece I’ve been waiting for. I will add that the editing/dragginh bar concept is cool but I feel like it’s very limited and I’d definitely prefer knobs maybe have the option to manually type a number for things like the pitch but it’s not to much a bother so even if that never changed I won’t complain If I could ask for future additions, it would be stem control—the ability to isolate vocals, drums, bass, and instruments right in the app. That would take Segments from incredible to industry-shifting.And being able to pitch the initial sample from the bar in the middle of screen without having to redo it after adding in my other chops because the pitch bar at the top always gives me trouble but once again I make it work so no complaints.I also think having the means to also trim the sample if it’s a longer song would be beneficial. Elliot Garage, keep going. You’re not just building an app—you’re shaping the future of mobile production. If you ever open up beta testing, I’m all in. ### 5/5 — Update *2025-07-29, version 1.1.16* Bluetooth midi please ### 5/5 — Love it 🖤 *2025-01-18* Having key detection, time stretching, and pitch shifting on the iPad is amazing. On desktop, I adore Serato Sample to make sample based music. I find that this interface better than Serato Sample. Sure, no Stem Separation, but I don’t care for the sound of AI stem separation. Highly recommended for any people that make sample based beats, or simply want to sprinkle samples on a track. It’s very playable IMO. Having velocity on the X/Y of a pad is Freddy cool in lieu of not connecting a midi controller. A built in looper would be a killer improvement. Very cool app 5/5. If I could rate it higher I would. ### 5/5 — Amazing. Love it *2024-04-09* Super fun way to chop samples on my iPhone and use with garage band. Is there any way to add a trim feature? I end up having to use a third party app to cut excess off of loops to utilize the “divide” function. I’m a longtime iPad GarageBand super user and know every minute detail of the application. I own virtually every plugin available, and have been using the Chomplr sampler AUV3 add-on for ages. But this app puts it to shame. It’s so flexible and SO stable. Instability is a problem that plagues many AUV3 extensions for Garageband on iOS. This one feels like it’s native to Garageband it’s so stable and responsive. I mean seriously this is exactly what a sampler should be. The Logic Pro sampler is similar, but this one is more intuitive and fun to use. The sampler is also flawless when duplicated several times over using the same wav sliced differently in each instance. Seriously the best add-on that exists for GarageBand. I’d have paid triple for this if I knew it was this good from the start. ### 5/5 — Needs work *2023-04-07* I’ve owned the app for at least a year.
