## What is Seian?

"Water is soft, yet it shapes stone."

When something has thrown you off, Seian helps you understand why — and find the next small foothold back to the present.

An AI companion drawn from Taoist, Buddhist, and Stoic philosophy. A struggle check-in, an ongoing conversation, and a lightweight journal.

For people who want to think things through, not be managed through them.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-20

Onboarding is now a short conversation instead of a form. At the end, Seian shows you what it understood — you can edit any of it, or skip it entirely.

Crisis resources now show the right national helpline for your region, covering the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-07-02

Multi-country crisis resources — Seian now shows the right support line for your region. Plus a smoother path from a check-in into conversation, and continued refinements to the visual design.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-06-28

A refreshed visual design — a calmer dark theme, refined typography, and a polished navigation bar.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-06-13

Small refinements: the check-in screen now includes a crisis-resource note, and messages sent while Seian is still responding are delivered smoothly instead of being missed.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-06-11

Seian now opens with a conversation instead of a form. Your first few minutes are a quiet exchange — no fields to fill, no checklist — so Seian can understand where you're starting from before anything else. Also in this version: refinements to the companion's voice and a smoother first-run experience.
