WHY SELAH

Most meditation apps borrow from Eastern traditions. SELAH is built on the Christian practice of meditating on scripture — turning a verse over in your heart, listening to it read aloud, dwelling on it. The interface is intentionally quiet: no streaks, no badges, no social feed. Just you and the word of God.

The name "Selah" appears 74 times in the Psalms — a Hebrew musical interlude meaning to pause, to lift up, to reflect. That's the posture this app is built for.

FOUNDING SCRIPTURE

Joshua 1:8 is the verse that shaped this app. It promises that meditation on scripture, done day and night, makes the way prosperous. SELAH exists to make that practice easier to return to, every day.

• A whole new Bookmarks feature — save verses into named collections, and turn any collection into a playlist that stays in sync as you add or remove bookmarks.
• Audio player now lives on the Bible tab — chapter auto-advance, repeat-verse and repeat-chapter, plus an adjustable pause between verses for deeper meditation.
• Settings moved to its own tab — voice, speed, ambient music, and pause controls no longer crowd the player.
• 4 new meditation topics: Wealth and prosperity, Renewing the mind, Spiritual growth, and Fruit of the Spirit.
• Ambient music now pauses and resumes with the scripture narration.
• Lock-screen narration no longer stops on iPad — playback continues even when the screen is off.
• Smaller wins: timer moved to the top of timed sessions, duplicate playlist names blocked, repeat-1 / repeat-all controls.
