The only part of the app that functions is the user guide. No connection to headset and no ability to adjust headset settings. ### 2/5 — The app is not connecting *2020-09-23, version 1.11* I buy the 30 k last month and still unable to connect the app whit the sena 30k equipment the technical support try everything but whit not luck please Sena do an app update to fix this problem now i am running ios 14.0 ### 1/5 — Does not work with iOS 14 if you delete your pairings and try to re-pair *2020-09-17, version 1.11* After updating my 30K to firmware 3.1, I factory defaulted it, deleted my iPhone 11 Pro pairings and attempted to setup again from scratch. I can pair the Bluetooth on the phone, but the app will not communicate with the 30K headset now. Also noticed Sena 30K BLE no longer shows up in the Bluetooth pairings on the phone. App needs fixing. ### 2/5 — Sena wake up! *2020-09-10, version 1.11* The app was kinda working find and now it doesn’t work at all for the 30k. I updated the sena to 3.1 but the app doesn’t connect to the unit. You guys need to update it so it can start working properly again. Thanks ### 1/5 — Needs so much work, I'm not buying Sena ever again. *2020-08-29, version 1.10* My sena 30ks are great... When you can get them to work. This app is horrible. It never connects. The UX needs so much improvement. It basically feels like Sena wrote it to release the 30k, and then abandoned it entirely. I'm a software engineer, and I can tell get this app to work right. I can't imagine how non-tech folks must hate it. I definitely can't recommend Sena products to anyone, because I can't expect them to be able to use them or the app. If Sena can't realize that ongoing support of the SOFTWARE part of their products is critical to maintaining and expanding their user base, then they have a lot to learn. ### 1/5 — Worst app *2020-07-11, version 1.10* This app is terrible. No matter how many times I try to sync the app with the device it just stays on the home screen and never connects. I’ve reset the headset, deleted and reinstalled the app; nothing. I had much higher expectations with this unit and am very disappointed. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2020-06-01, version 1.10* I have the Sena 30k connected via Bluetooth with my phone but, all the time I open the app it tells me I have to connect the the device. I tried disconnecting the Bluetooth connection and reconnecting it, didn’t work I tried removing the app and downloading it again still nothing. Nothing seems to work this app need a major update. People are paying $200+ for this device and the app doesn’t even work. The device will connect to other sena models and play music through my phone just fine... but the actual app WILL not OPEN to the pictures screens below to edit my groups and favorites. Also more than likely because of this I cannot connect my sena to other Bluetooth models ### 1/5 — No longer connects to app *2020-03-08, version 1.9.2* While this once worked well, it no longer connects to app. I can hear music from phone and know it’s connected but the app will not go past pairing screen and has no ability to change settings. Very disappointed ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2019-12-28, version 1.9.2* Just purchased dual 30k’s. Went thru the process of “forgetting” device from my phone. Downloaded app, opened app, then repaired. App still does not see the 30k. This will be my last purchase of anything Sena. Actually considering returning it since even after installing the WHIM I can’t configure the device from the bike. Now I can’t configure thru an app. Only way to change setting is to connect to a computer. Not very user friendly especially if I’m on the roar and need to make a change to the settings. ### 2/5 — H-D 30K Won’t work w/ app *2019-11-15, version 1.9.2* App has not worked since the iOS 13 update. Headset works fine by itself, still links to phone, but app will not recognize at all. Worked fine with app before update. Really liked the functionality of the app. Sure would be nice to be able to utilize it again. ### 1/5 — Another great product that can’t do what’s its made to do by SENA *2019-10-14, version 1.9.2* For the most recent update in October 2019: And in typical SENA fashion. The update is bad at best. It’s connects to the app when it wants to. Which is less then 50%. And even then it takes about five mins of staying on the screen to open. The Terms Off Use is requested EVERY time I open the app. Yes I checked the box for it not to ask again. And EVERY time it does connect it states a newer version of the app is available in the App Store. When powering on or at any other time There is no voice letting me know what it’s doing. But in the other unit I updated the voice is still present. The bluetooth multi tasking is not useable with an open face helmet. The lightest wind sets it off. Follow up to this review. I turned off the voice commands. My bad. I uninstalled the newest update. Then re installed it. Seems to work better after the second try. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iOS 13 *2019-09-30, version 1.9.1* Don’t update to iOS 13 if you want to be able to use this app! I just updated to iOS 13 and now the app won’t pair with my phone and I can’t adjust settings through the app. Hopefully Sena will come out with a patch or software update or something, I will update my review as soon as the issue gets resolved! ### 1/5 — Does not function *2019-09-30, version 1.9.1* Unable to connect app with device even though the phone is connected, tried doing what other users have recommended in their reviews. It’s a shame really, hopefully they roll out an update because the actual device is pretty solid. ### 1/5 — App not working with IOS13 *2019-09-27, version 1.9.1* With my Sena itself, it works great but starts to break up communication. Doesn’t matter if I’m two feet from my riding buddy or if I’m thirty feet away. Also when I try to use the sena app it doesn’t detect the sena which kills me because before I updated to iOS 13 it worked but now it doesn’t love the app until then. Please fix the problem I as well as others would love to use this app for the convenience of not needing to always connect to the computer to make changes. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Completely no -functional. *2022-10-27, version 1.18* Even after updating the 30k headset to the latest firmware, the software/app won’t recognize the headset even if the iPhone is connected and able to play music/take calls/etc through it. Completely broken, even new out of the box. ### 1/5 — Absolute Crap and typical Sena "updater" function. *2022-06-23, version 1.18* When used in connection w WiFi dock this app is unstable, updates drop out 1/2 way through (when it updates at all) In app instructions are totally incorrect for 20s EVO update ### 1/5 — Don’t buy these *2022-06-05, version 1.18* These are horrible. I’ve fiddled with them for 4 months and even ask Sena for help and I get a reply about once every 3 weeks asking a question. What a waste of time and money ### 1/5 — Bad Connectivity *2022-02-18, version 1.17* The unit itself is pretty decent. Good range but a little hard to connect properly and use intercom with groups of 3 or more without music cutting out completely. The app is iffy, recognizes the device and pairs and then it won’t find it and your stuck staring at the screen like it wasn’t connected when it really is. Connect it once, set your settings and learn the device controls and you should be ok. Pairing with a group? Figure all that out before you’re moving on the road or don’t pair up at all ### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect to app *2021-08-28, version 1.16* I’m never able to use the app. I’ve redownloaded the app and reconnected my phone to the sena and the app still doesn’t want to work. The app is useless since you can’t connect to it. ### 1/5 — The 30K is great, the app is useless. *2021-04-15, version 1.13* If you’re reading these reviews to decide if you should buy the 30K I would still recommend it but seriously don’t even bother with the app. It doesn’t pair to the device at all. The last time I got it to connect was years ago and even with the number of updates they’ve released since it still isn’t worth the free download. Sena knows they’re the best on the market so they’re just coasting now. Cardo and other brands will soon take over but until then we’re stuck with these lazy bums. ### 1/5 — App is GARBAGE *2020-11-13, version 1.12* The Sena works great communicating with other Sena users. It also does a good job with interfacing with your phone in its ability to play music, take calls, and give directions. The apps are so bad. They don’t work well and the ability to call in for support is not seemingly available. I like my Sena 30K, but will probably switch to cardo on my next purchase! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2020-10-12, version 1.12* Running iOS 14 latest version. Sena app is updated. Sena 30k is updated. Does not connect to phone. Sena sound is ok but cardo sounds better. Wont buy another Sena. Will rock the Sena for a year to justify the money I spent then trashing it and getting the cardo. Will not recommend any Sena products. I can play music from my phone to the device and that’s it. Going back to Cardo. UPDATE: After installing the newest Sena app update, which fixes the connectivity issues, the app still will not recognize the unit. I have deleted the app and reinstalled, I have reset my phone and made sure I’m running all current updates. Getting ridiculous. ### 1/5 — I’d give negative stars if I could. *2020-09-27, version 1.11* They brag about the new ease to pair with the app. Then an iOS update breaks the app and it doesn’t even pair with the Sena and it’s been this way for weeks now. Sena is the king of releasing products halfway and then charging us another $500 to “upgrade” from their previous buggy junk. I came from the 10 to the 20 to the 30. I refuse to buy the 50 as it’s more bug fixes for lots of money with no decent new features. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Works flawless *2020-10-18, version 1.12* Most people are saying that they can’t connect their 30K to the app, I had trouble at first but decided to hook up the sena to my computer and it updated from I believe 1.03 to version 3.1.1. You must use a data transfer cable not charging one. Once you update, Sena App works just fine and connects to headpiece. The app never worked when I tried to update Sena only way to do is using a laptop. ### 4/5 — Need an iPhone 11 Pro Max UPDATE *2019-09-29, version 1.9.1* My 30K is connected via Bluetooth with my phone, but it’s not showing in this app. *please fix soon. ### 3/5 — Minor problems *2020-10-14, version 1.12* First problem, despite repeated attempts the app will not see my Wi-Fi network when I try to connect the wireless docking station up to it. I’ve even deleted the app and tried it twice, no luck. Second problem, unless I’m doing something wrong, I can not use the Mesh network and Apple CarPlay at the same time, it’s one or the other. Didn’t have this issue on my iPhone 7. Please release a update for IOS 13. ### 3/5 — Very good product VERY SAD APP *2019-03-17, version 1.6.1* So I bought the wife and I a 2 pack. Installed on Shoei Neotec II and RF1200. Updated the firmware before use. Installed app. Everything works perfect. But..... The app is so slow. And if your screen goes to sleep or turns off in any way then it takes about 60 seconds before you can use the app again once you click on it again or unlock your screen. Very frustrating. As far as the actual MESH system.....AMAZING. Been about a mile apart and still crystal clear. Can both listen to the same music and push button on the side to talk then push again to restart music.
