Wife adapter has to be reset multiple times to get recognized. The app has to be constantly restarted to perform task. I’m considering switching to another brand helmet stereo. Paying over 300 dollars only to find such a juvenile application to run things with is a huge disappointment. When the app scans for wifi networks to connect the WIFI adapter to the internet. No networks show up. Not a good start at all with Sena. ### 1/5 — Application *2020-09-17, version 1.1* I bought two because of recommendations. I have issues with sound over fourth five miles an hour. I thought with the HD speakers it would have been better. I noticed the update. I have tried to get the update to see if it improves the functionality. I have tried several times to complete this with no avail. I called the number and was told to use 2G. I slowed my system down to 2G and even tried the guest. However, the application never found any of the WIFI’s. I even tried it at my daughters house and the WIFI’s were not found. The company really needs to fix the issue. When you pay almost five hundred dollars for one and you can not update the firmware. ### 1/5 — Bugged up *2020-08-26, version 1.1* The headset is good quality, the app is garbage right now. The WiFi adapter never shows up properly in the app so updating is done by connecting to my computer which is frustrating since the automatic updates was one of the features i was excited about. There is always a lag between opening the app and seeing my paired device even though the headset is already paired with the phone. Also the check for firmware button doesn’t do anything. I hope sena can up their game soon.. ### 1/5 — PATHETIC PROGRAMMING *2020-05-30, version 1.0* This app failed to do the simplest of tasks, DO ONE THING AND DO IT RIGHT. Not only could this app not update my 50R, it couldn’t even display WiFi connections because the APP ISN’T PROGRAMMED PROPERLY! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! Next time you want to do something, at least do it right. ### 2/5 — Sena 50s *2020-05-18, version 1.0* The sena works good the app on the other hand works when it wants. It stays it pairs to my phone but that app says it’s not. Makes phone calls and plays my music, Siri works but app says no device connected. Then boom it works until you try to use it then it freezes and has to be shut down and restarted. Please sena update this it looks like it could be useful. ### 2/5 — Great Device - App needs work *2020-05-04, version 1.0* The Sena 50S is amazing, however the application needs work to be on par. The check for firmware update function does not work at all. The wifi enabled charger also resets and the app drops it every time you close the application. This is a huge flaw because it is one of the biggest features included with the device. The overall flow of the app is also a little glitchy. Like I said Sena killed it with the 50s and 50R, but please fix the app to function at the same caliber. ### 2/5 — Buggy *2020-05-01, version 1.0* Kinda expected per normal but the app is super buggy. Over 20 minutes to get the Wi-Fi adapter connected and it runs really hot. App disconnects from device pretty regularly. I really wish by this point their app would better. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — This App is Absolutely Useless *2022-10-28, version 1.11* And so is the new Sena app. It tells me to use the new Sena app to update my Sena using the Wi-Fi adapter. The app updates the Wi-Fi adapter but not the Sena 50S. When I use the new app, it tells me to use the Sena 50 Utility which is this app but it no longer works as of August 2022. I’m buying a Cardo ### 1/5 — Worst Software *2021-08-07, version 1.9* They say they fixed the software, but it’s still buggy and doesn’t work. Not possible to update firmware. Maybe they make a good headset, but their software division is incompetent. I should have stayed with my old Cardo…it just worked. ### 1/5 — Worthless and rarely works. *2021-07-21, version 1.8* Can’t get the app to see the headset even though it’s paired to a 12 pro max. WiFi firmware adapter is even worse as I was able to get that to work once and never again. Being the leader in helmet comms means nothing when your products are over priced garbage and you have no real competition. And how unqualified are your app developers if they need a new app for every product you release. Best thing you could do is fire your product development team and get someone that understands how important UX is. You guys are toast as soon as some company decides to enter the market. ### 1/5 — So frustrated *2021-06-02, version 1.5* How can Sena release this as a flagship product. Little to no documentation and bugged software. I’m pretty tech savvy but this firmware upgrade process is a joke. ### 1/5 — WIFI worthless *2021-05-27, version 1.5* I just bought the 50R and cannot set up via USB and WIFI. After reading other comments, I upgraded the firmware using my laptop. It requires a download from Sena that uses old Microsoft Visual Basic c++ 2005 download. I bought because it said it pairs with an unlimited number of other devices. We shall see! The pamphlet pictures show four riders. ### 1/5 — Keeps crashing! *2021-05-08, version 1.5* Every time i try to change a setting the app crashes and resets everything. Far from impressed. Bought this device today and for the life of me cannot figure out how to connect it to the app on my iPhone or pc using the manufacturers downloadable app on Pc. The instructions are useless The app just doesnt work. The website downloadable software will not recognize the device at all. I’ve attempted to figure this out for hours, and I’m done, returning this product tomorrow. I will not pay $300 for garbage. But I had nothing but issues with it. Impossible to set up speedial numbers. Does not connect to all wifi networks. We have unifi AP’s, and the wifi connector does not see this network at all. All other devices. See and use this network with no issues. The sound quality is excellent. I have not gone on rude yet. I could literally sit here for an hour explaining them but I’m not waisting my time any more on this unit! Finally just updated it via my laptop, if these problems keep happening I’m returning it!
