No email responses and updates available in years. Landscape or horizontal doesn’t even show you the entire view it’s a mess but my lights still turn on like clock work despite the app being completely blank and saying gateway error. Now app reports bad gateway and can’t even use it as a floodlight even after multiple attempts to resetup camera it just stalls at last step which I assume is it trying to connect back to its server which has obviously been turned off. I have 11 of them. The main issue is that Snap hasn’t been modified/improved/tuned in more than five years. It is currently not totally compatible with I-Phones or any Apple products. I have read heaps of negative reviews on Amazon so very hesitate to decide whether to give it a go. I was thinking to add Arlo Pro 2 but local hardware store offers huge discount on Snap 1 model (more than half price) which means I can buy 3 Snap 1 with the price for Arlo Pro 2. Same 1080 resolution but Snap 1 is far clearer than Arlo, both have zoning but Arlo more relies on PIR whole Snap works on AI (sometimes is better than Arlo but sometimes Arlo is more precise due to local hardware based detection ) The light of Snap works great, adjustment APP is lightening fast, though not motion detect triggered but I don’t need it at all and think it is stupid to throw light on person’s face which would burn the exposure to white wash everything. I’d rather have a traditional security light installed on side but the light can be directed to the side instead of in line with camera view (anyone who has some basic photography knowledge can tell to have spot light in line with camera direction is a huge mistake!) And as I live in Australia, I receive a free 7X24 cloud service which is a bonus to make Snap more attractive than Arlo Pro 2. I have tested for 5 days and Snap’s cloud DVR is reliable and quick responding. All in all I am very happy with the product, saves me huge money to upgrade to Arlo Pro 2. It buys me time to wait and see who is better on the 4K end, though Alro Ultra is still the king but too expensive to upgrade every year. I started with Arlo original and upgrade to Pro last year and don’t wish to upgrade to 4K (first generation and could be like Arlo original with a lot of bugs and issues). Both provide an awesome HD view with sound and allows me to view and communicate with mic feature in the app. The light bulb functions on a schedule and keeps my driveway lit up. They work great i got the $150 camera light bulb it has hd,night vision and sensor with dimming lightbulb and speaker,all work perfect off this app. Speaker maybe just a little lag i guess depends on your internet connection. But this app and device works great. $5 a month will record like 2 days at a time which is what im going to get after one month free trial runs out.
