But my tracks i recorded with it are now locked, it crashed before I can open them. The sounds are also stuck on stacatto unless screen recorded, I know the app is outdated but im praying for an update! PLEASE! ### 3/5 — Bug *2025-02-15* Love the sound but it is bugged when I try to use it in GarageBand! It says I don’t have the plugin installed (while I do) and I am now locked out of many great song files, please fix :( ### 4/5 — Exceptional Sound with Some Minor Flaws *2025-01-04, version 1.0.9* A solid 3.5. In my time spent with this app, I can say that I’m impressed with the quality of the samples. The Legato is convincing enough. However there are some minor issues what are a bit of a headache but there are workarounds. First, When opening a project with the app used as an AU3 in garage band on the iPad, the midi will play staccato until you open the track settings. Then it will play as you’ve intended Lastly, when exporting a project as an audio file in GarageBand on the iPad, the export will crash…every.single.time. The workaround is to merge the track into a single audio wav file. Which cannot be undone in garage band if you want to export the whole song. The work around for that is to duplicate the project before merging the midi track. These issues are manageable but also extremely irritating when you are testing mixes and audio levels on other platforms. ### 4/5 — Surprising *2024-12-23, version 1.0.9* This is actually quite useful - mainly due to the range of tones and nuances available from the piano-roll; it’s missing the growl but it does well blending notes together and bending between them, some breath effects are attainable and the tenor tone is extremely useable with the included reverb and delay effects - for the price it’s outstanding - I’m pretty sure it was £4.99 but I’ve had it a long time now, happy to see it back up for iOS18 though, I missed it while it was unavailable - thank you guys, grossly underrated in my humble opinion, I love it. 🤷‍♂️👍 Works great on GarageBand btw, AUv3 MIDI working again, all is good. ### 2/5 — Good but bad *2023-05-04* Love the sound. Love the ease of connectivity, but the shear amount of buggyness is upsetting. you can’t have two tracks of this addon with out it crashing. you can’t play chords, your can’t record a rhythm and then play a non recording rhythm on the same track. it’s just super buggy and lacks a lot of features that budget musicians look for in products. ### 3/5 — What a shame *2023-03-07, version 1.0.9* An incredible-sounding app that will just not export properly when used in auv3 as the sax defaults to staccato, rendering it utterly useless. It’s so disappointing as otherwise it would be worth twice the price. Judging by other comments it seems it’s been abandoned, so save your money folks and do not purchase. I’ve given up using it. ### 2/5 — I need help. *2021-06-23* The app is good, I use it in Garageband and in plenty of occasions when I’m recording, it appears and interface that states: “The Audio Plugin stopped do you want to deactivate it or execute it again?” It’s so bothering and the app had a high price for what it offers. When it came the day to export my song, the sound of the Sax does not include the effects I configured in the Garageband, it just sounds one note that last 1 second and without the effects. All the best, R ### 2/5 — Not compatible with garage band *2020-07-19, version 1.0.9* While the sound is great I purchased the app to use with garage band. Yet whenever I record the sax turned all the way up to 100 for those nice long notes it bugs out and records them as low quality staccato notes so I can’t record/produce... I’ve tried merging the sound file etc to get around the bug but it’s just impossible to record this plug in on garage band which is a real shame because again, the noise is wonderful. It seems like the app does not implement background audio. I could not find a setting to turn on background audio. -The app does not seem to respond to RPN0 for setting the pitch bend range. -it seems to only have two velocities. The high velocity kicks in at the very end of the velocity range. -I can’t get Legato behavior to work correctly from a MIDI controller. ### 1/5 — Won’t export as a file correctly *2021-01-31, version 1.0.9* Fantastic sound in the app but unfortunately when you go to export your song it comes out as staccato which is rubbish if you want sensual, sustained sax. Refund will be requested-please fix the export issue. UPDATE I’ve worked out how to get SS working and more importantly exporting properly in GB without turning to staccato. Took a while. First you must select it as an Inter App Audio in GB not an Audio Unit Extension. This means that you will be using the SS app to play the sax on the keyboard, not the GB keyboard. This will record it as a WAV type file so you can’t edit notes like a pattern but that’s the only way. This way when you go to export it won’t revert to staccato. The developers really should look into why this happens and fix it as it is the best sax app out there. IFretless Sax also gets good reviews. ### 1/5 — Great sound but continually crashes *2020-09-19, version 1.0.9* This app has a terrific saxophone sound. I’d love to be able to mix it in with my garage band songs but the app continuously crashes GB. Five crashes in the last 15 minutes trying to record a song. After some practice I did get a realistic sax sound. So if I export song from GarageBand iOS, it seems to place the sax into staccato but I want it in legato. Please fix! The work around is to merge the track into a wave format. But not sure if it’s a gb bug or sensual sax bug. However my opinion stands. This is a great app and I hope devs keep supporting it. I really don’t know how this doesn’t have 5 stars.
