## What is Sentium Glitch?

Build animated electronic instruments from four synthesis engines.
Blend Subtractive, FM, Karplus-Strong, and Wavetable layers.

Sentium Glitch is a stereo AUv3 synthesizer for producers, composers, and sound designers who want layered motion inside one focused instrument. Use it in compatible AUv3 instrument hosts, or open the standalone app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro to load the same experience, connect MIDI inputs, and play it as a standalone instrument.

Every patch is a complete sound design document: four engine layers, per-layer envelopes, filters, LFOs, modulation routes, pan, level, engine bypass, master effects, polyphony budgeting, voice mode and glide, and optional recorded XY Pad motion all recallable through presets and AU host project state.

Core sound engines:
- Subtractive: dual oscillators, sub, noise, detune, pulse-width shaping, and multimode filtering for classic analog weight and layered fundamentals.
- FM: five operator topologies for bells, keys, metallic basses, and aggressive digital color: two-operator, blended two-operator, stacked, dual-modulator, and split-carrier.
- Karplus-Strong: plucked and struck delay-line resonators for guitars, kotos, mallets, metallic attacks, and hybrid acoustic-electric textures.
- Wavetable: curated morphing tables with vocal formants, digital edges, harmonic motion, seeded-random spectra, and unison width for animated modern tones.

Performance and modulation:
- Poly, mono, and legato voice modes with adjustable glide (portamento) for tight monophonic basses and expressive, gliding leads.
- Two XY pads with four routable axes.
- Record XY pad motion per engine and save it with the patch.
- Route LFOs, envelopes, velocity, aftertouch, pitch bend, mod wheel, CC74, and XY pad axes to musical targets.
- Move oscillator pitch and mix, FM index and ratios, Karplus brightness and decay, wavetable position and detune, filter, pan, gain, LFO rates, and master-FX controls.
- Sync LFOs, chorus rate, and delay time to host tempo when available.

Patch and mix tools:
- Four-layer engine mixer for balancing, panning, and bypassing each sound source.
- Master chorus, delay, reverb, level, and soft clip.
- Global polyphony budget up to 32 voices with device-aware runtime limits.
- Stereo output at 44.1, 48, and 96 kHz sample rates where supported.
- On-screen keyboard with pitch and modulation wheels, plus CoreMIDI input management in the standalone app.

Factory and user library:
Start from 92 factory presets spanning signature motion patches, classic synth tones, basses, leads, keys, bells, plucks, strings, pads, rhythmic textures, atmospheres, experimental sounds, and technical references.

Save your own user presets locally with iCloud sync when available. Export selected saved user presets as .sgpresets files and import them through a preview workflow that appends new user presets without overwriting the existing library.

Sentium Glitch is built for sounds that move: evolving pads, unstable digital bells, hybrid plucks, animated basses, cinematic sweeps, mono leads that glide between notes, and expressive performance patches that respond to your hands.

### 5/5 — Really enjoying this synth!! Hopefully it’ll be easier to use on iPhone in the future!

*2026-07-11*

I’ve however only started playing around with it so I have yet to form a full opinion; but as of now… I really like the UI (on an iPad mini) but I also really do NOT like the UI on iPhone (well, more like… the UX): everything is just way too small to be manageable. Whilst I understand that this is perhaps more of a detail, I seriously think that for a synth which will cost 30 dollars (I purchased it at a discount at launch — so 20 dollars for me) and that is sold on the AppStore, a better UX should be considered for what is, in fact, also an iPhone product.

I’ve also mentioned this about Recodec (another app by the same dev) which originally had a beautiful UI which was great on iPhone (and probably very decent on any iPad too btw) but which later got refactored into a more “iPad friendly” UI which is now really not great on iPhone at all. I think the opposite compromise was much better — as I’m sure many people use these apps on phones and not on tablets — as I more often than not, do myself.

I also have another issue with the UI in general —> the wavetable position can be modulated and it reacts properly, BUT the UI does not reflect this. I find this to be something missing, it would be ideal to be able to see which “position” the wavetable is currently at — including the offset applied by modulation.

It would also be way better if we could IMPORT our own wavetables — I figured this would be a thing, but I haven’t found a way of adding my own wavetables. Please consider adding an import option for these 🙏🏼

As a last detail, but perhaps expected given the complexity of this synth… it can be a bit heavy on the CPU (but I’m sure this is mostly because of the complexity of the synth and probably not much can be done about it).

I still think this is a great synth, though perhaps a little expensive — excuse me if I don’t show much praise on my review — I find it easier to pinpoint what I consider to be the faults of the app but it is a great app regardless and if you’re interested in what the description of this synth is, you probably won’t regret the purchase (especially if you’re using an iPad) 👍🏼.

### 5/5 — EPIC!!!

*2026-07-11*

This synth is absolutely epic! I mean that both sonically and visually. It’s such a unique powerhouse. Who would’ve thought that blending FM and Karplus Strong could create something so musical. Brilliant!
