### 3/5 — Not user friendly

*2026-08-29, version 3.2.11*

The "plan my trip" had me walking to terminal B to reach my destination instead of the terminal I was at. The live chat also gave me wrong info.

### 4/5 — Ok

*2026-08-19, version 3.2.11*

Works okay. Sometimes times are inaccurate.

### 3/5 — Inaccurate

*2026-06-13, version 3.2.11*

No notice when a ride is canceled, map tracking is intermittent, can't rely on the information presented

### 2/5 — Great when working

*2026-06-10, version 3.2.11*

But they have got to fix the new password being requested constantly. God forbid you forget your monthly password - you get stuck in an endless loop between the app and website!

### 2/5 — UI is a mess

*2026-06-08, version 3.2.11*

This app is trying to do way too much at once. The user interface is extremely cluttered and nonsensical to read at a glance, which makes reading schedules way more unintuitive than necessary. The old app only listed bus/train departure times, which was easy to understand and consistent across both the app and traditional schedules. This one tries to show me everything at once: departure times, walk times, arrival times, trip duration, etc. This obfuscates the information i actually need and makes it confusing to read at a glance. Missed buses more times than i can count because of this app, and that never happened with the old version.

### 2/5 — App sucks

*2026-05-31, version 3.2.10*

The app as constructed does not give real time info and the information it does give is is difficult to interpret

### 1/5 — Brownie

*2026-05-18, version 3.2.10*

Why the west bound T schedule doesn’t appear at the trolley stop 13th and Market

### 1/5 — Inaccurate live data

*2026-05-16, version 3.2.10*

The app is terrible, unreliable, worse than nothing. Yet again it shows a bus coming, moving on the app, then it disappears and resets. Such garbage! Septa you’re driving away your customers!

### 1/5 — Worse app

*2026-05-16, version 3.2.10*

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use this app.

### 2/5 — Slow to load

*2026-05-13, version 3.2.10*

Please remove the animation opening the app, it slows down the ability for me to quickly see train schedules. I don’t want to wait for the logo to finish animating when I need to quickly check

### 1/5 — Half the time it doesn’t work!!!

*2026-05-12, version 3.2.10*

Please fix the UI for adding funds to the card. It’s really annoying that there’s no enter key and I end up entering my cvv into the balance reload as well.

### 1/5 — I swear this is a prank

*2026-05-10, version 3.2.10*

It’s been like 5 years since this last did anything but every update just adds some new issue that makes It impossible to load money onto a key card. The current one is you need to reset password and then temporary passwords expire immediately and then you can’t reset again for 24 hours. Just don’t even have an app

### 1/5 — Took $90 from me

*2026-05-09, version 3.2.10*

I tried to add $10 for a ride and it decided to add an extra 0 and add $100 to my account and I couldn’t fix it wth

### 1/5 — Keep crashing error and logout by itself

*2026-04-14, version 3.2.10*

Keeep continuing like that ... changer passw and anythins still said error :(

### 1/5 — 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅

*2026-04-09, version 3.2.10*

You can’t just buy a ticket and go, you have to have a key card and create an account

### 1/5 — Absolutely awful app

*2026-03-18, version 3.2.8*

With all the problems the septa app has I really didn’t think it could get any worse, but with the new update the app doesn’t even work on older phones. If you have an older phone that can’t take the updates, you get stuck in a loop of opening the app, being forced to open the app store for updates, and then being redirected back to the app that doesn’t work without the updates your phone can’t take.

### 1/5 — Update bias

*2026-03-17, version 3.2.8*

Glad to see septa updates the app which I can no longer use as my iPhone does not accept version 17
Users of iPhone X or older are now unable to use the app. Great idea septa.

### 1/5 — septa overall 0 stars

*2026-03-14, version 3.2.10*

app sucks just like the actual transportation system

### 3/5 — Fix this

*2026-03-13, version 3.2.10*

So it keeps saying we’re at Lancaster but I’m at Keswick Rd please

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Having error always

*2026-08-31, version 3.2.11*

This app reset my septa card every month and there are a lot of trouble to sign in again. I’ve used it for a year and this problem was still not fixed

### 1/5 — Forget user friendly cause this app is not that

*2026-08-31, version 3.2.11*

Because some of the Kiosk in the stations are not safe to use , I look forward to loading money on to my card. But, because of the glitches and cannot remember my password and user name I would have to end up going to one of the unsafe kiosk to use to place money on my keycard.

### 1/5 — stop changing stuff

*2026-08-25, version 3.2.11*

why would it make more sense to put train stops in alphabetical order instead of the order of the stops, change it back omg

### 1/5 — Schedule and live trips have no bearing on reality

*2026-07-16, version 3.2.11*

I find the schedule information in the map, especially for trolleys, has no connection to reality. Incorrect live trip information, trips that show up as cancelled only after the scheduled arrival time has passed. This level of unreliability is completely inexcusable.

### 1/5 — This app is not user friendly

*2026-06-20, version 3.2.11*

All I’m trying to do is plan a rail trip to see when the train will arrive to pickup someone at the station and I can’t get it to do that

### 1/5 — Won't update

*2026-06-02, version 3.2.11*

Can't update the app. Doesn't matter because septa sucks anyway.

### 1/5 — App Won’t Download

*2026-06-02, version 3.2.11*

App won’t update/nor can I download the app again since the latest app update today

### 1/5 — Inaccurate and glitchy

*2026-05-31, version 3.2.10*

Some nice features like the favorited routes/stops are helpful. The idea behind many of the features are great but are very glitchy to the point it isn’t worth trying. For example, the app doesn’t stay logged in and the password needs changed way too often (every few months). The login from the app doesn’t work and often have to resort to using the browser version. Additionally, the “live tracked” schedules sound good in practice but are somehow inaccurate all the time. They show buses that aren’t coming; they fail to show buses that are coming; the schedule is often off by 15m+

### 1/5 — Truly useless, and keeps getting worse!

*2026-05-27, version 3.2.10*

Times are inaccurate or buses just don’t show up. Buses often aren’t tracked but then suddenly appear past the stop you’ve been waiting for. Cancellations don’t show until the last minute or even after the bus was supposed to arrive. I’m continually surprised by how this app keeps getting worse when it’s already so terrible.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-05-18, version 3.2.10*

I can never log in! So I can’t view my Septa Key balance or add funds through the app. I just stopped using the app cause that’s the only good reason for it. Needs a serious update.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works with no problems

*2026-08-27, version 3.2.11*

Works great every time I need to use the trains. I can’t say nothing wrong to be honest

### 5/5 — Fantastic update

*2025-06-27, version 3.2.5*

This app improved by 200%! Wow!! So clear and seamless. Thank you 🙏

### 5/5 — Septal Life-saving! It makes my life easier

*2025-06-20, version 3.2.5*

Enjoy every opportunity

### 5/5 — You cannot RESET your PASSWORD on the app

*2025-06-16, version 3.2.5*

The app is great, but in order to reset your password you have to go to the SeptaKey.org website!

### 5/5 — Now it is great

*2025-04-23, version 3.2.3*

I applaud the efforts to respond to specific customer feedback over the last several months. The issues I noticed with the app are now much improved, and the app is easy to use and reliable.

Train numbers are displayed in all places, the time information is consistent across tabs, and trains no longer disappear from tabs.

### 5/5 — Feedback on train s in alerts

*2025-04-17, version 3.2.3*

The app continues to be GREAT but just one quirk: If I get an alert that a train has been cancelled or will be delayed, there is no way of matching the train number in the alert with the details of upcoming trains — because train numbers are not shown in upcoming trains until the train is “live”. Why not just include train numbers on ALL scheduled trains in the app? Otherwise riders can’t actually make sense of the train numbers in the alerts.

### 5/5 — Wonderful improvement

*2025-04-13, version 3.2*

You guys did a really incredible job with updating the app to make sure that it was more useful and spread out between all forms of transportation.

### 5/5 — Very helpful, with small flaws

*2025-03-20, version 3.2*

As a daily septa commuter this app is invaluable and I open it everyday to check on my buses and trains. It has invaluable tools that other major transit lines such as dc and Baltimore do not have, such as the ability to check what bus / train / trolley stops are near you (and elsewhere if you so please) and the expected time of arrival of the next ride.

The flaws I would say are characteristic of non-profit apps- it could be more intuitive and user friendly to customize the app for those who rely on it to commute. There isn’t a feature for me to get notifications for delays, and if there is, I don’t know where to find it and I’m the person folks usually lean on for tech help.

But I’d 1000% rather have this than most other transit apps out there. So long story short, all Philly transit commuters should download this app.

### 5/5 — New Update is Incredible!!

*2025-03-09, version 3.2*

With the new septa app, bus arrivals are reliable and well tracked. It’ll calculate your route like google maps but with more accurate times. It’s so convenient and easy.

Writing this for any new philly residents afraid of septa. This app makes it easy, and I’m so glad they updated it! Thanks SEPTA!

### 5/5 — Awful “update”

*2025-01-15, version 3.1*

New update is horrible. Used to be I could plug in my two stops and it would list out all the trains that were coming in the next hour or so. Now I have no idea when trains are coming based on this app. It’s absolutely useless even since the update in early January. The people who designed this must not have ever written a single train in Philadelphia in their entire life.
