I did several test runs today, if u have a weak WIFI signal in a remote location while checking the home camera, the app won’t load. Turn off WIFI & it should be fine. Three stars for now because setup with Ethernet was a PIA. By trial & error, I was finally able to sync it. ### 2/5 — Worked ok until..... *2020-12-14, version 7.2.1* I updated my internet to ultra high speed. After a while the camera live feed would not flip to landscape when I turned the phone sideways to see a larger picture. It locks up and crashes every time. I just upgraded to a new IPhone X and it still locking up. Very annoying!!!!!! ### 2/5 — App crashes IOS 13 iPhone **work around** *2019-11-10, version 6.3.1* When viewing the camera you can’t switch between full screen and windowed view. If you tilt your phone the app crashes. A temporary solution for those having this issue, on the Device List screen, tilt you phone then tap the camera you want to view. It will open full screen but will still crash the app if you tilt your phone. ### 2/5 — New issue with app *2019-11-04, version 6.3.1* Our camera screen is no longer able to switch to horizontal mode for better viewing on IPhone & then the app crashes when we try. This has been happening for weeks now, so our family is considering having to buy an entirely new camera system. What is the issue here? The notifications never work consistently. The basic functions of the app rarely ever work the same way. One day you may have to see snapshots by clicking one button, and the next day the snapshots can only be seen by clicking a different button. So bottom line; this app won’t actually help you stay safe (it will likely fail to send you a notification of someone breaking in your door), and once you realize that, you won’t feel safe either. The problem is that the app is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. It hardly ever works and ruins any chance of reliably using the cameras. Their reply was “As of the moment, we are working on an update for the app so it would work on iOS13.” This app still hasn’t been updated to make it work as of 2/14/20, nearly five months after they said they was working on it. Please update because my camera is just an expensive paperweight. ### 1/5 — If this could be a negative review, it would be *2019-12-28, version 6.3.1* I purchased four cameras in April of 2019 from Groupon. Initially they worked very well but would continuously lose the internet connection. By June they wouldn’t connect at all. I tried to contact customer service and they were worthless!! They never get back to you via chat, and over the phone they hang up on you multiple times before you actually get a hold of someone after calling back repeatedly. I had a promo code so I bought four new ones. (When i did speak to someone they said my cameras may be damaged) The new cameras wouldn’t connect at all. At this point I had 8 cameras and PYLE USA/ SERENE LIFE customer service was absolutely garbage. It is not December 2019 and customer service has not helped in any way, shape or form. It was easy to set up, takes great video, has sensitivity settings to record on motion detection, and records at night using infrared. The SereneViewer app used for setup and playback is very easy to use. I was shopping to buy a second camera for another house and was surprised by the low ratings this camera has received. So, here’s the short version. And, I see that iOS 13 update is a bad idea, thank you all for posting that info. ....... I found myself scrolling through your device’s menu during a sleepless night. The interface is very nice indeed. My compliments to your graphic designer. The aesthetic and efficiency is most satisfying. I’m using a version 7 iPod touch with iOS 12. Also, the software and hardware in general are really well designed and orchestrated. Please tell me the software tools you use to create your product. Took 10 mins to setup and never had a problem since. Highly satified customer here. The image quality is good and I can maneuver the cameras from my phone screen. I can even take snapshots which are usually of my dog sleeping in crazy positions (which makes for laughter at work). I like the fact that I am notified of any motion and I can control the sensitivity level.
