Surprised at a company like Serta letting this go on. Way too complicated. Seems like app was put together by a high school class. Too cumbersome, poorly designed & very sporadic operation (if at all). But based on the dates of the reviews and current functions of the app, no one at Serta is reading them anyway. Just speaking to the wind. ### 1/5 — Works with iPhone my *** *2021-01-26, version 1.2* Set it up once and it works great. Exit the program and the next time you want to use it it will not work again. It will always tell you the passcode is incorrect. Then you must reset each controller and reinstall the program and perform setup again. Each time you exit the program you must do it all over again. Only got one side to connect (we have a California king). And we have to keep connecting every time we try to use it. Much quicker to just hit the button. Since it is not WiFi but blue tooth, you have to be within feet of it to work. What’s the point. Now that I’m in the bedroom. Two more steps and I can physically hot the button on the wired controllers. If you try to put this app on two devices which would only make sense for a couple it will lock up and become completely unusable for either device. Closing and restarting the app won’t even fix it. You have to delete and start over. It works “ok” on just one device. App keeps crashing!!! Way too many steps to manage two controls for each side of blanket. Then, after going through steps and passcodes, app keeps crashing and shuts off. Love the concept. If I’m home I’d rather just go turn it on. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Awful App *2021-12-07, version 1.2* This app will malfunction constantly and eventually will tell you it’s the wrong password and even though the included directions say to re-install the app , it won’t re-set. Serta filed bankruptcy in 2020 so there isn’t any technical support other than basic instructions that come with the product and obviously the developer won’t be fixing the app. So don’t waste your time trying to get help like I did. I’ve had the product for 2 years now and even the controls aren’t working as they should now. Disappointing as I usually have get many years of service from Serta. Guess it’s like everything else. Companies are producing inferior products so they stay in business but don’t mind bankrupting the consumer along the way. ### 1/5 — Awful *2021-06-17, version 1.2* Terrible app. You have to go through too many redundant screens. Once you finally connect and set your preferences it will lock up and you will have to start all over again. Everything is plugged in correctly with the correct power source and all I get is E1 on the control board. Junk I tell you. The app isn’t any better with having to select the same controller over and over to be able to turn it on. Of course I want to turn my side on, but why have to sign into 2 remotes on the same bed! It’s now stuck in an endless loop of entering the passcode, which it no longer recognizes, changing the passcode, which doesn’t work, or changing the name of the device. It just flat out quit working. I even deleted it and reinstalled. It still won’t work. Menu options are badly designed. and no customer service. Just bad. Good intentions but very poorly executed. Don’t even bother. So disappointing as this was a gift. Customers have been complaining for more than a year and NOTHING has been fixed. Shame on Serta. But the sheep is cute. I rename my blanket and enter the passcode and the the next time I go into the app when I try to enter the passcode it closes the app out and I have to try again. ### 1/5 — Bluetooth *2021-02-28, version 1.2* I have connected everything, and I saw the controls through Bluetooth as I didn’t need it then so shut it off. Now close to bedtime and I tried to use this app. It connects etc but it dead stops after you connect. No heat controls or anything showing now. Another day, still trying to get bluetooth going. Today it doesn’t go any farther than entering name, which app tells me ( no matter what name etc) that it is already used. I knew what I picked out but tried tons of names some of which I can’t Imagine any one else using and that’s all the further she goes. No more getting into a cold bed at night for my wife and i. I’m able to control both units seamlessly. A+ in my book! ### 5/5 — Works great *2019-11-03, version 1.0* I bought this heated mattress pad because it was such a great price and the Bluetooth enabled feature was a bonus to me. I read some pretty horrible reviews of the app when I downloaded it so I wasn’t expecting much but it works great! Just as it supposed to. I am pleasantly surprised and a very happy customer!! ### 5/5 — Works Great! *2019-10-21, version 1.0* I’m using this app to control my queen size heating pad. Paired my side to my app flawlessly. Paired my wife’s side to her phone flawlessly. App turns on heating pad and adjusts temp to your setting. App will also adjust how long you want it on for. Would be nice if I could set it to to turn on at a specific time. ### 4/5 — Needs some work *2020-01-03, version 1.1* Like another reviewer posted quite complicated to just turn the blanket on. Way too many steps and it really should auto connect. I have a twin size thank goodness only one control to deal with. It is nice to be able to turn it on or adjust settings from my phone even in bed which is easier to me than fumbling with the remote itself in the dark so that’s a plus. Kudos for pioneering the concept so four stars. I’ll update this review if it gets an overhaul on those many steps to connect and control it. What I would like to see is: 1. open the app: Not sure why you need a password for a blanket?? 2. ONE screen with these buttons: A. Turn on/off blanket B. Heat control (maybe a slider to save space) C. Timer If that isn’t feasible then max three screens. ### 3/5 — Fix this App Serta it is garbage *2021-01-13, version 1.2* Too many steps for something that should be straight forward and simple. I did discover that my mesh network “Orbie” Backhaul frequency was interfering with the Bluetooth connection to the Serta. Once I changed the Backhaul frequency on the Orbie I was able to control the pad from a distance. If you have a mesh WI-FI network at home try changing the Backhaul frequency if you are having connection issues with you Serta product. ### 2/5 — Simplify!!! *2020-11-18, version 1.1* Please please simplify this app. The idea is great and it functions fine. But why oh why do we need codes and multiple screens for something as simple as controlling an electric blanket? If you have to have codes for some bizarre reason then give the option to save them. The app should show and automatically connect to available controllers. And then have a single screen to allow turning on and off and setting the temperature. That’s it.
