### 4/5 — Absolutely love this app on my iPad not so much on my iPhone 5

*2012-11-27, version 1.1.4*

Yes this is a brilliant app for both devices, however on the iPhone 5 you cannot add photos of your culinary creations nor are you able to easily download a recipe sent to you from another serving sizer user directly, if this was fixed so you could download the recipe/index card/ ingredients this would make it so much more convenient and easy to share recipes with friends and of course those long standing family recipes!

### 4/5 — Works like a super smart chef!

*2012-05-19, version 1.1.4*

Makes converting recipes for catering a breeze! Easy to use and works perfect. Love it! Only complaint is that is doesn't look super great on iPad.

### 4/5 — Excellent

*2011-11-16, version 1.1.4*

The only thing I would change is to look for a way to put all the ingredients in the app list at the same time, or to transfer it. Its kind of a down side that it takes too much time to get you ingredients in the list.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2011-06-08, version 1.1.1*

Love this App. Works well except with eggs. Half of five eggs is not 2 1/2 cups of eggs. But you knew that. Definitely worth buying!

### 5/5 — Excelent

*2010-12-16, version 1.1.1*

Excelent app

### 4/5 — Culinary apprentice opionion

*2010-10-24, version 0*

Im not very good with numbers. I use this app all day everyday. It has made my life so much easier at culinary school, my line-cook job, and studying at home. The only thing I would add is a download option, where I could take recipes that have already been typed up on the computer and load them on my iPod via wifi. That way I wouldn't have to type directions in using the tiny iPod keyboard. Other then that, I highly recommend this to the cook who has to work with new recipes everyday.

### 5/5 — Worth the extra $ for the pro version IMHO

*2010-10-07, version 0*

Very nice app. The upgrade to pro adds some nice features. Definitely worth it.
If you only need to convert a single measurement, check out the regular version.
Excellent database of ingrediants and very easy to enter data.

### 4/5 — Great!

*2010-09-03, version 0*

From what I read in some of the reviews, apparently the name of the app is a bit deceiving. But it was actually just what I was looking for. I wanted an app that I could put my own recipes in and change the serving sizes without a hassle. Now, if they'd let me add my own pictures, it'd be perfect! I know it takes some time to enter long recipes, but it's on an iPhone so what do you expect? Maybe one day the developers can make a web connection thru wifi where we can enter recipes by copy/paste on the web and it show up on the device. But for now, I just want to be able to add pictures from my library.

### 5/5 — Excellent

I've been looking for a product that can translate entire recipes. This is it! Perfect!

### 5/5 — Home Cooking

*2010-07-27, version 0*

I have fun using the program, it does take a while to get the recepie in but I think it helps me learn it. I do wish it had an option to add a pinch. Other than that it is really nice. Thank you for taking the time to create it and God bless you! :-)

### 5/5 — Serving sizer pro

*2010-06-26, version 0*

Very good if you are on weight watchers

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor app

*2019-08-01, version 1.5.0*

It doesn’t seem like it should be so hard to make a recipe converter. This app is extremely difficult to use and very time consuming. You have to enter the entire recipe manually. I would think they would have figured a way for you to simply upload a recipe and go from there. I cook for our homeless shelter and need to feed 100 people per recipe. I was hoping this would make it easier but I hardly use it because it’s so difficult to use. Waste of my money!

### 1/5 — Very Difficult to Use

*2019-01-30, version 1.5.0*

Have used iPad version for years and it is easy ti use. Adding a recipe on iPhone with this half though out & developed app is complicated and sloooow. Can’t easily import recipe from iPad version.

In short save your money

### 1/5 — Really?

*2013-01-23, version 1.1.4*

Want my money back!

### 2/5 — Serving Sizer app

*2016-02-27, version 1.5.0*

I used to Love this app it worked great. But then I found out when I got a new iPhone, that only the app transfers not the data in it. That was a bummer since it didn't back up either. Probably won't use it anymore. Can't redo all the info I had. Bummer.

**Developer response:** If you do an iCloud backup or iTunes backup, and then a Restore from Backup, all data files are supposed to transfer. However, we have set up a secondary backup method, for peace of mind, via iTunes File Sharing. You can transfer a backup copy of the recipe database file to your computer and transfer it back at any time. If you need additional help, please send us a message at support@creativealgorithms.com.

### 2/5 — Not useful

*2010-07-12, version 0*

Have to enter an entire recipe in order to convert. Not practical when sometimes all you want is a quick conversion.

### 2/5 — Not a time saver

*2010-05-29, version 0*

This app delivers on it's promises. What I didn't stop to think about before purchasing it was that the promises weren't worth making. By the time you've finished typing in the recipe name, original ingredients and quantities you have lost interest in cooking and sent out for pizza. It takes that long! If the ingredient isn't in the database you can't even enter it. There is just no quick way to use it. It doesn't take an app to figure out that if the recipe calls for 3/4 cup of milk and you are doubling it, you need 1 1/2 cups of milk. Unless you have a lot of time and patience, reconsider purchasing this app.

### 3/5 — Good, unless you add a recipe

*2014-12-16, version 1.5.0*

Love this app. However, after I added a new recipe, noticed that the search box for ingredients is hidden - so unable to type in the box and select an ingredient; need to type a new name every time.

### 3/5 — Good. Could be great.

*2012-03-03, version 1.1.4*

I like this app. User friendly. I would love to share recipes with other friends using Serving Saver Pro. I'm still shopping for a better recipe box app.

### 3/5 — Great idea but limited ingredients they have in the index & weight measurements not exact

*2011-01-05, version 1.1.1*

note: If you wish to convert a recipe in weight rather than liquid measurement you'll need to use the app "kitchen pro" for now to do the math as this one can't yet add up scale measurements in weight, such as 0,7 oz,,,But it's great for fluid ounces measurement. I don't understand why, if I have the exact measuring size and weight of an item like canned diced tomatoes, it can't convert the recipe ingredient. If the item isn't in the index, such as this common one, (why isnt it??)even if you know the can is 10.7oz you can't do the recipe at all as you may only choose from their list with few ingredients or it won't even let you put in the weight with no name or a name (note I later discovered you can type in a name but it can't multiply it if you do and the can size isn't their exact weight you can choose from)

Worse, for those converting using weight, it isn't accurate. I can't put in 1.2 oz paprika or 0.7 oz paprika. I can just choose fractions like 1/4 1/2 etc. In large scale cooking and all professional baking and food manufacturing we use weight in decimals as that's how a digital scale measures... It can't be done on here but darn I'd love it if that was the only thing they changed.

This app has the potential to be PHENOMENAL and there are no other websites or apps that convert as well (changing to cups rather than saying 20 teaspoons) but I can't use it yet because I use weights and the accuracy isn't there yet since I can't use a decimal point as there isn't one

Update: they respond promptly to emails and said they'd look into it! Yay and good service!

### 4/5 — Agree with other users

*2013-01-12, version 1.1.4*

4 stars for having an excellent app. What would make it 5 would be iCloud support or importing of recipes. Typing each thing manually is a pain and if I've done it once I've had to enter it a thousand times. I had to reset my phone, had to renter everything. Upgraded my phone, had to reenter everything. Why is it that my games carry across my devices but not my recipes?

As a working Chef, I have to say this is one of the most valuable apps I've been able to put my hands on! It works great! Just wish it had iCloud support or allowed for importing recipes. Sometimes time is of the essence, you know?

Update: how about adding the ability to add photos?
