I have had strokes and it is almost impossible for me to leave the house get in a car and go to the doctor. It takes my daughter and another parent to help me. So that is two people off work for the day and me wearing myself out. I am usually tired for a week after it because it’s like an act of congress to get me to a physical doctor. This platform removes all of that. The doctor was on time, professional, and took the time to really listen to my concerns. I’ve struggled with acne since I was a teenager, and instead of simply refilling my previous medication, he explained why a different treatment would likely be more effective for my long-term condition. He also prescribed a topical medication to help the affected areas heal. I never felt rushed, and he answered all of my questions. The whole process was easy, convenient, and much better than I expected. As a Registered Nurse working in cardiac critical care step-down at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, I work alongside physicians every day and have high expectations when it comes to medical care. After more than ten years with my previous primary care physician, I was devastated when he unexpectedly closed his practice. I had been struggling with ongoing respiratory issues, profound fatigue, and complications after multiple COVID infections, and I desperately needed continuity of care from someone I could trust. I was referred to Sesame, where I met Dr. Leafblad, and I could not have asked for a better physician. From our very first appointment, he took the time to truly listen. Rather than treating just one symptom, he looked at the complete picture of my health. He ordered appropriate laboratory testing, chest X-rays, adjusted my medications when necessary, referred me to specialists, and carefully considered how my occupation as a bedside critical care nurse might be contributing to my illness and recovery. His approach is thoughtful, comprehensive, and genuinely patient-centered. What impressed me most was not only his medical knowledge, but also his compassion. He never made me feel rushed. He explained his reasoning, involved me in decisions, and demonstrated the kind of professionalism and empathy that every patient hopes to find in a physician. As someone who works in healthcare and collaborates with physicians on a daily basis, I can honestly say that Dr. Leafblad is exceptional. I would recommend him without hesitation to my own family—including my mother. Finding an outstanding primary care physician is becoming increasingly difficult, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Dr. Leafblad. Charges a monthly fee, cool. Charged a visit fee. No problem. Where the problem lies is they advertise meds for a monthly cost of under 200, but when you get to the pharmacy they’re over 1000 I had the subscription for under 4 hours, they charged the subscription fee, and now will not refund me the monthly subscription fee even tho I canceled because they lied about their prices. Predatory company do not use ### 1/5 — Sloppy, unserious, disrespectful company. *2026-08-08, version 1.9* This is not a serious company. 1. I’ve seen three providers through sesame. Two were disrespectful and condescending. 2. In the latest episode, the provider was unable to correctly dose 2 out of5 medications. In his defense, he seemed to know in advance that Sesame’s system was likely going to lead to problems with prescriptions. 3. Their annual program was a fail because they could not even generate a patient number in order for me to take advantage of the benefits I paid for. 4. Their designated mail delivery partners do not necessarily honor their program resulting in no coverage. 5. This all amounts to you not receiving anything close to what you paid for. When these facts are presented to the company, customer service acknowledges them but is unable to resolve and compensate in a timely fashion. The conclusion can only be that Sesame did not come prepared to present their product to the public. When you don’t come prepared - this indicates that you do not respect your own business or the customer. This is further evidenced by partial and incorrect refunds. Sloppy, unserious, disrespectful company. ### 1/5 — Confusing account issues, aggressive upselling, and unhelpful support *2026-08-07, version 1.9* Wanted one prescription visit, not a subscription — got constant upselling toward their $59-99/mo program instead. Website gave “Page Not Found” errors joining my video call AND uploading required documents (had to use the app instead). Ended up with duplicate account profiles and couldn’t view my own prescription afterward. In-app feedback survey errored out and wouldn’t let me submit a review. Phone support was dismissive, cut me off repeatedly, and gave no real fix for the upload issue. Filed a formal complaint — no resolution. Avoid if you want a simple one-time visit. ### 1/5 — False advertising *2026-07-30, version 1.9* The doctor I was paired with was phenomenal, however, there is a lot of false advertising on Google; when a person searches for a qualified Doctor who can review symptoms and look at images (live video and photographs of the progression of an injury) in order to assess one’s ability to drive, and provide a note for a person’s work, Sesame is suggested. This person/doctor did not feel comfortable with doing that for legal reasons, and therefore told me he would refund me. My visit essentially was a waste of time because of false advertising on Google. I’m not exactly sure how any telehealth would work if the doctors on Sesame cannot take a person’s verbal explanation of symptoms and visual of the physical problem as evidence or cause for an evaluation. Food for thought before you spend the money on an appointment! ### 1/5 — They’ll take your money *2026-07-29, version 1.8* Run run run, I paid $100+ for 15 minutes with a supposed mental health therapist, she just kept interrupting me and didn’t listen at all. 0/10 do not recommend ### 1/5 — Worst *2026-07-20, version 1.8* This app is terrible for booking an appointment. You get to the end it tells you you can’t see that provider that they then you have to start all over with your booking information from the beginning and they ask you a zillion When you call customer service, all they do is repeat the same thing and don’t explain anything when you get upset because they keep repeating the same thing and you ask them a question, they hang up on you. ### 1/5 — SCAM *2026-07-17, version 1.8* They will charge you whatever they want from your account before and after appointment ### 1/5 — Very disappointed with my experience on Sesame. *2026-07-15, version 1.8* Very disappointed with my experience on Sesame. I’ve managed hypothyroidism for 22 years and know my history well. During my video visit, the call kept malfunctioning, and the provider didn’t seem to have reviewed my previous labs or notes. Despite my labs clearly showing my current dose was too high, I wasn’t given an appropriate dose adjustment instead I was prescribed only a 2-month supply and told to redo labs again in 2 months, which is costly and unnecessary for a stable chronic condition. When I contacted support, I was told refunds aren’t offered for care or prescription issues. If you have a chronic condition requiring careful dose management, be prepared for inconsistent care here. ### 1/5 — Doctors just tell you to see your normal primary *2026-07-13, version 1.8* Absolutely useless. The website has you book an appointment and charges you saying this medication will be prescribed in this consultation, then you have the appointment and the doctors just say to see your primary because they “just met you” and because medications have side effects. I know that. Everyone knows that. You shouldn’t be providing care on an app like this if you don’t believe in prescribing medication this way. It’s a waste of time, energy, and money. Do not pay them a cent. ### 1/5 — Do not buy the annual subscription *2026-05-19, version 1.7* The app is not designed for annual subscription. I have it and it is so buggy that, it will ask you to pay for a visit monthly with a new doctor when you already paid for the annual plan which includes this. I have to contact support each time an appointment is needed.
