The interface is super clunky. It needs a way to just type the chords you want without having to tap and then drag etc. why so many steps? If it had a way to just type in the chords (similar to apps like band in a box etc. ) it would dramatically reduce the time it takes to make a song backing track. For example it takes literally less then a minute to type in chords and produce a backing track in biab.. where as this can take well over that with this app. An example user experience story: I was making a backing track for a song and I’d missed just 1 chord entry. I had to scroll through the whole thing to find where I’d missed it. This took me over 10mins to do because I’d accidentally click on another chord and forgot my place in the song. Having the chords scroll along is great to play along to but for entering the actual chords it feels primitive and as I said before.. super clunky. Having the ability to see the whole song on one screen and being able to just select the bar position for the chord which you then just type in would make this one of the best apps for song creation. ### 4/5 — Titres *2022-08-03, version 1.4.3* bonjour et merci pour ce fabuleux travail J’aimerai connaître les titres des différents morceaux ? If I want a piano backing, I use the piano app, but I’ll most likely want to use the same chord sequence in the guitar app, but I have to type the entire sequence in again as there is no import or export option between apps. Also, there is only one repeat option, and does not have sections that could be named and have their own repeat options. Still, it’s very affordable and I find it easy to use. ### 3/5 — No ableton link, no Audiobus3 support *2019-02-03, version 1.3* 5 stars on the addition of support so you can actually use the app to write music. If developers put in Ableton link and preferably the ability to copy your pattern as audio rather than to have to record and export, then this would be a great app to use as part of an iPad Jam session / music creation process on the iPad. Infatti se si mette su garage band non si riesce a sincronizzare con il metronomo. Facendo un analisi dei bpm della traccia risulta diversa! Peccato perché l'app in se è buona... ### 4/5 — Amazing App, With One Suggestion *2016-05-19* This is a great app for bluegrass players to practice solos. My playing has improved immensely by having full control of the backing track. However, it would be great to be able to get a faster tempo on guitar 13. Up to 230bpm would be ideal for fast picking. ### 4/5 — Up and running! *2015-10-04, version 1.0* I really hate wasting a lot of time searching for patches in most other apps, but this app allows me to get up and jamming in less than one minute, and that is really important to me. The quality of the recorded instruments are absolutely usable in tracks on your final recordings. The musician's are top notch with style and just the right amount of personality thrown in without sounding like loops. ### 4/5 — Needs the next step please *2015-07-21, version 1.0* If you could mix styles per song this would be five stars Styles are great but we need to mix them in a song please. Distortion is all I hear. They are now worthless. Sure wish I hadn't updated. ### 1/5 — Da 10 a 1 *2018-06-03, version 1.3* Sí perché dopo l’aggiornamento tutte le app SessionBand che ho hanno smesso di funzionare, vanno a scatti e sono inutilizzabili. Le uso su iPad Pro 10,5. Credo sia il caso di fare un aggiornamento ulteriore per provvedere e magari, prima, testatelo. ### 1/5 — FLAWED *2017-01-15, version 1.0* Hard to use as a sound source for actual use in songs since the audio loops on export don't sync to the specified BPM due to a few seconds silence at the start. No diminished and no m7b5 make this useless. Very limited, Shame ;( ### 2/5 — Leider sehr enttäuscht *2015-05-11, version 1.0* Die Aussicht akustische Instrumente in Mehrspur Projekte einzufügen klingt gut. Die Umsetzung jedoch ist mit den session Band Programmen sehr sehr umständlich. Man kann innerhalb eines Liedes keine verschiedenen Loops verwenden. Akkordfolgen kann man nicht in den anderen Apps der Serie öffnen. Der Export ist sehr umständlich. Die Klangqualität ist nur mittelmäßig. Der Anschlag der Gitarre klingt zu Beginn der Loops oft unnatürlich da er etwas angeschnitten ist. Die Saiten klingen durch die Wechsel der Loops nicht nach. ### 2/5 — More of the same, unfortunately *2015-05-09, version 1.0* You'd think that by version 2 it might've occurred to the devs that listing styles as Demo 1, Demo 2, etc was a bit cryptic. But no, it's more of what made version 1 p*** poor. Lousy looking interface and controls that are a pig to work with. It's a missed opportunity. Nic ### 3/5 — Njaaa… *2025-11-17, version 1.8* Die App war vor 10 Jahren bestimmt der Kracher, aber Oberfläche und Features sind in die Jahre gekommen. Der Kontrast zu den Möglichkeiten der Virtuellen Spieler in Logic oder GarageBand ist extrem deutlich. Mir fehlen immer wieder einzelne Akkordtypen, Taktartänderungen und synkopierte Akkordwechsel. Also: Speichern und in der DAW zurechtschneiden. Kann man machen, wenn man gar keine andere Möglichkeit hat, an einen Gitarrentrack zu kommen. Die Loops sind immerhin sehr ordentlich eingespielt, Tempi sind flexibel und es gibt jeden Akkord auf allen 12 Grundtönen. Man kann seine Songs aus Acoustic Guitar 1 nicht in Acoustic Guitar 2 importieren. ### 3/5 — Update please *2022-06-04, version 1.4.3* C’est une bonne application qui souffre désormais de ces limitations. I use it all the time for song writing and the sound quality never lets me down. Thanks for such a good job. ### 5/5 — Do not buy this 5 star program if you plan to upgrade to ios 13! *2019-07-17, version 1.4* I love this program it offers such potential for songwriting YET it does not work on ios 13 on the ipad. I have two ipad pros 10.5 one running 12.1 and the program works fine yet on my other ipad 10.5 running ipad ios 13 it seizes up as soon as you try to switch the alternative style modes. So frustrating because I also bought the acoustic guitar program and it exhibits the same behavior. I do hope the developers will stay on top of this and put in the time to optimize this for ios 13 because obviously I will be upgrading all my devices to ios 13 which will prevent me from purchasing the other session band programs until these programs can work normally with ios 13. ### 5/5 — Great selection of quality guitar loops *2019-07-10, version 1.4* Thousands of mostly strummed guitar loops well played and every key. Very useful for songwriters and producers looking for some guitar in their productions without having to hire one!!! I also have Leo Cavello Sony Pack but with that you only get a selection and then have to auto transpose to get the right key. With this, there’s a full set and 20 or so styles and patterns. I prefer this to edition 1 but both excellent. ### 5/5 — Nice app *2019-07-05, version 1.4* Nice addition to the styles in acoustic 1 which I also use. Very useful for creating your own backing tracks.
