### 2/5 — Es fehlen Akkordtypen

*2026-05-12*

### 2/5 — Sound quality ok but otherwise limited.

*2024-09-08, version 2.9*

Contrary to SessionBand’s claim theirs is not the "world’s first chord-based loop app". There is another on the market, Chordbot, which is way more versatile, but let down by poor sound quality and some of the riffs and rhythms in the loops. I find Sessionband to be useful sometimes but uninspiring; for actual experimentation and composing I would use the the original ‘chord-based loop app.

### 4/5 — Love them all..at least the ones I have purchased

*2024-07-12, version 2.9*

I started with the Original, then I got the Guitar 1 & 2, ukulele, rock, country, EdM, Drums, Jazz 1&2… these are so awesome. It would be even better if we could import the individual loops easily into like garage band or FL Studio mobile. I tried exporting a recording and using the same chords and same bpm from for example the guitar and piano apps, but when I tried putting them together into GarageBand… there were some definite synchronization issues. It’s not SessionBands fault.. they are great, I’m just a noob, and probably just not doing something correctly. I know it states that these are royalty free, but if I create the chord structure of a popular song, and sing a cover, or a parody, am I safe, copyright wise, for at least the music part? I mean can the creator of an original song come after me just because I used the same/similar chord structure and sound similar to the original? You can’t copyright chord structures, and SessionBand obviously didn’t copy anything from another artist, so if I put my loops together and it sounds familiar/similar to another song.. would there be any repercussions? I just want to cmoa (cover my own assets)

### 3/5 — Some disaapointments

*2020-11-22, version 2.4.3*

Would like to give 5 Stars but just can't.

First disappointment, many "styles" have no ability to use organ track. It's not even included. Open the mixer only to find 2 guitars, no organ at all. (Keyboards play on shuffles and funk too Sessionband, just to let you know.)

Also, several styles that DO include organ have it playing at least an octave too high with no ability to transpose it back down an octave (or even two) making the organ part pretty much useless for that style.

Also disappointing, sorry to say but keyboard chord voicings are absolutely awful on too many styles, (even if in proper octave range). Again makes kbd track pretty much useless.

Sad :-(

But hey, if you don't care for keys, maybe the app will be to your liking!

### 3/5 — Doesn’t work back ground.

*2020-07-18*

I use sample tank and play with it.
But doesn’t work back ground . Too bad..

### 4/5 — Good for jamming but not for advanced uses

*2019-11-13, version 2.4.1*

I just use this to create jam tracks that I play along with using the app. It’s nice to be able to control the tempo change keys and so on and off the stock tracks. This is mostly what I do. I haven’t had much luck exporting tracks to garage band etc. As a matter fact I would say the app is horrible for this. But there’s an easy way to access jam tracks that can be tweakedTo change keys and what not, this app is good

### 3/5 — Major bug

*2019-10-25, version 2.4*

Can’t change tracks without completely leaving the app. Not good at all.

Everything else is amazing really really is, but the problem above makes me not wanna use the app every time I do.

### 4/5 — Good app, but...

*2019-06-30, version 2.4*

I use a quite a few of your Session band apps, I have all of the jazz series, and the blues app. I find them easy to use for practice. I mostly make my own rhythm tracks (bass and drums) to work on practice patterns for jazz, and I hope to use the blues app in the same way for working some heavy blues rock riffs against on guitar. Harmony is not a big deal at this point since I work against a rhythm section (bass and drums), but it would be nice in the blues app to have some straight triad chord possibilities, 5 chords for example to add a rhythm guitar. Do not need the extended chords so much in the blues app. Just my humble opinion. Overall I use the SessionBand app daily and think it is best for a shallow learning curve to just get woodshedding.

### 2/5 — Utterly impossible to work with

*2019-04-27, version 2.3*

This may be a good idea- certainly, if you’re happy with the hundred or so tracks available at purchase it IS a pretty neat idea. However, it is completely, totally, utterly impossible to create one’s own track. The chord selection method is clunky and very hit-and-miss, and woe betide the user if s/he wishes to resize the chord blocks- it’s two bars or nothing. If that were not enough, the app is very fond of introducing random chord blocks of its own, and even changing the very nature of the two-chord blocks already created with much labour, so the the initial G7 has somehow morphed into an Ebm9 without being touched. I spent an entire hour wrestling with what should have been a very simple 12-bar chug without ever getting to the V chord before giving up. Tbh, I could have done what I had wanted to do with just a guitar in fifteen minutes in Garageband, and had more fun in the process. At least it was only £1.99...

### 4/5 — Pas mal

*2019-04-01*

### 5/5 — Create custom backing tracks

*2018-06-12, version 2.3*

Edited review: no more crashes. Very useful for creating your own backing tracks. Can export tracks or just use within app and play it through any Bluetooth speakers to jam (really useful, not all apps have that feature)

### 5/5 — Good app for making jam tracks ...

*2017-10-04, version 2.1*

I didn't have any problems learning how to use the app. If anything, my mistake was thinking it was harder to use than it is. Works great. I play blues so, unless I am missing something, it would be better if I could substitute a keyboard for the rhythm guitar in Texas Blues Crunch, etc. I like some rhythm in the backing. Just would like a little more flexibility about what kind of rhythm. Not complaining though. After trying all kinds of looping programs, this is the one that I use to practice to. Great job guys. Looking forward to more functions and sophistication. I, for one, would not hesitate to pay a bit more for an upscale version. Thanks.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pas d’accord mineur ni majeur naturel !

*2022-09-08*

### 1/5 — Poor edit page

*2021-04-07, version 2.4.3*

Good loops but the whole app is not well designed.
No pause/play button in the edit screen.
This basic feature has been requested for years but developers don’t listen.
The app needs updates based on users’ feedback.

### 1/5 — One star

*2020-04-10, version 2.4.2*

Have bought four of these apps and every single one has glitchy audio. If it wasn’t for this I would probably give them a five but as they are they are useless.
Other audio/music apps on my device are fine. I did try to send and email to support but it won’t send. So can you help with this please thanks.

*2019-10-17*

### 1/5 — Drums don’t like tempo change

*2018-12-08, version 2.3*

The chords are a bit jazzy, what happened to a simple minor chord?
Also the drums sound absolutely dreadful if you move the tempo

### 1/5 — Very poor controls...

*2017-10-09, version 2.1*

Can we please.... please.... PLEASE.... have a PLAY/STOP button on the EDIT window!?!
It is INCREDIBLY frustrating and hindering to workflow to keep having to switch backwards and forwards and then stop and start and back and forward again!!
Makes a potentially very useful app... into frustrating amateur rubbish!

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2017-05-14, version 2.0*

I hoped to have some tracks I could jam along with but there was nothing here that I would remotely call blues. Not a blues harp in sight, no Robert Johnson, BB King, Freddy King, Elmore James, Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker styles. A total waste of money.

### 1/5 — Drains the battery down !!!! Vide la batterie

*2017-04-05*

If you forget to quit the app with the main button after using it, it will totally drain the battery down in a few hours. I wrote the developers about it and they told me they knew about it and they would fix it soon... This was 1 year ago ! No update since
Mais rien n'a changé depuis 1 an !

### 1/5 — Session Band blues.

*2016-04-22*

Do not. Download. Please. Help me

### 1/5 — total garbage

*2016-03-24, version 2.0*

The description makes this tool sound much more fully featured than it is. It only has one audio loop per chord, with no way of modulating each loop to a different key. Apple refuses to refund. Very disappointed. What a waste of $$.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Music is in session

*2023-11-03, version 2.9*

Does exactly what I need and portable. Being able to customize patterns and looping is practice heaven. Cheers people.

### 5/5 — You will love it.

*2023-07-17*

Its really good for musicians and songwriters.

### 5/5 — Klingt gut, Bedienung auch

*2022-01-07*

### 5/5 — Really surprised by the sound quality

*2020-09-25, version 2.4.3*

I was really wiped out over the sound quality. Wasn't expecting that. Very good.
  Extremely cool app.
A lot easier to try and use GarageBand to get a jam track going. This is no diss to GB by any means. This is easier to use in my opinion. All the instruments can be muted or adjusted, and the same for GB, but man more options included here for rhythm guitar alone.
Change key by semitone. Adjust speed. Change drum fill or the better part of the track. Loop.
All needed tools. You can record your finished track. After you have produced it and then export to several other apps, including GB.
Watch your bpm after you import to GB. Once you sync it up there, it'll play like you had originally wanted here in SessionBand. Haven't figured out how to export single tracks to GB yet, but will get it going.
I have two ticks that certainly didn't warrant a star removed.
No plain Jane Major chords. Not all Blues has just, altered Dominates. And no Diminished chords. m7b5 yep, no problem, but no Diminished.
Other than those two, this is a home run music making app for the price of a couple cocktails.
  I don't think you'll be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Simply amazing

*2019-09-17, version 2.4*

I can not believe it took me this long to stumble on this app and that there are so few favorable reviews. Just amazing for building fantastic backing tracks to play with. And the interface is incredible. What a bargain too. I’ve tried many many other backing track solutions and this is clearly the best.

### 5/5 — I used this app and my song went to 1

*2019-09-08, version 2.4*

I used the bass and drums on this app and added my lead guitar and vocal. Put the chords into a cool rock blues sequence, mixed it all on pro tools, and next minute my song went to number in the blues charts on iTunes! Now there’s a story for you sessionband team! You should do an interview with me to speak highly of your app!!! Cheers. Peter

### 5/5 — My favourite music app

*2019-07-15, version 2.4*

Spot on! So quick to create backing tracks or jam to. The band love it too to try out different ideas. Some great styles included, Funky Blues and Texas Shuffle particularly useful. When is volume 2 coming out!?

### 5/5 — Favourite play along app

*2019-07-02, version 2.4*

One of my favourite of these apps. Really authentic blues loops. Could do with more chord variations but very easy to create awesome and hi quality blues tracks for instrumentalists to play over. The instant transpose feature works very well and latest audiobus upgrade is welcome. Smooth jazz please???

### 5/5 — Guter Sound

*2019-06-20*

Super sounds. Alle Apps des Anbieters sind spitze!

### 5/5 — Great Practice Tool

*2019-02-07, version 2.3*

Use it almost every day to provide backup band to practice blues piano.
