Why isn’t it just a chord sheet that you can type in the chords you want.? The interface at the moment is really clunky and I often find myself missing chords when entering them or struggle to find a spot that I need to change. Having a basic chord sheet that I can just type the chords in for each bar would save a lot of hassle. With that one small improvement all of their apps would be 10/10 for me. Would be interested to hear from the devs why they don’t use this approach. ### 3/5 — Freezes on iPhone *2024-01-13* I love the app but it hangs and freezes on the iPhone and I have to restart the app to play changes. I even upgraded from iPhone SE 2nd gen to iPhone 15 pro and it still freezes. I can run the app on my old iPad gen3 and it works fine. I need it to work on iPhone also without freezing causing restarting. ### 3/5 — Awesome tool but missing a few critical elements *2022-10-31* This is a fun app that creates great tracks. The primary shortcoming, however, is the lack of a few critical features, including a minor triad and a 6th chord. This prevents the creation of a whole lot of country tracks, especially traditional country (eg, Earnest Tubb’s Thanks a Lot). Other misses include: stops only in a major chords, lack of a twangy telecaster, and no real sense of bluegrass rhythm guitar in the bluegrass tracks. The musicians are great but don’t quite understand country music. ### 4/5 — Great app *2021-08-29* All apps of session band are great and I love it. It only has one audio loop per chord, with no way of modulating each loop to a different key. Apple refuses to refund. Very disappointed. I feel like having been cheated. ### 1/5 — No minor chords *2021-04-18* Minor 7 or minor 11 is no substitute for a minor triad chord. What a poor decision on the developers for not including this most basic chord. It doesn’t reflect the requirements of the style it is trying to support. City of New Orleans sounds so wrong. Wayfaring Stranger? Just not possible. It upsets me to discover this ridiculous omission. ### 1/5 — Poor edit page *2021-04-07* Good loops but the whole app is not well designed. No pause/play button in the edit screen. This basic feature has been requested for years but developers don’t listen. This app offers many of the most used country rhythms and I am looking forward to Vol 2, 3 & 4. Bring them on. I have every one of the SessionBand apps and they are fantastic. ### 5/5 — Beautiful sounds and useful for song ideas! *2021-05-29* Much more simple to use than Biab for Windows. And even though the variety of instruments is more limited, there are plenty of variations of song styles to suit most country, folk songs from about any era. You will have a suitable “bed” to build the rest of your song from quickly! Add your own vocals, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, etc. later after you send your song to garage band or cubasis etc. Don’t get me wrong Biab has it’s place, but this is about as close as you can get to Biab on ipad! The instrumentation is really professional and the options are not only endless, they’re also customisable. Deserves to be a winner ### 5/5 — SessionBand Country *2021-03-10* This app helps me so much with my songwriting! In fact, you can choose your chords, add a preset of drum, choose the beat, shorten the loop and mute some of the instruments in the loop. I have no idea why other customers are complaining. When I use it, I already have a good idea of the melody I want and building the song is therefore quite easy. It also exports well in Logic Pro in one audio file. Awesome! The shuffle styles I like. ### 5/5 — A Bargain *2019-07-13, version 2.4* Fantastically useful app. Works as a basic rhythm arrangement for a wide variety of styles- not just country. ### 5/5 — Authentic country play along *2019-07-02* This is a nice version of the session band series. I have extracted the guitar loops from this one via audiobus to use elsewhere and they are well edited. As a play along app it provides hours of fun and endless opportunity to improvise over. Perhaps it’s best function is as a very functional play along or great tool for songwriters. The quicker uptempo loops work best for me. Tempo shift is not the best available so for now stuck with native tempos or vary speeds in other packages once exported. Great value and a great concept. ### 5/5 — Nearly perfect! *2017-02-26* I'm a professional keyboard player from Nashville. As a musician, this app really needs full on minor chords, diminished and augmented chords. Slash chords would really help too. It does have great things like 9th's, but for country you have to have the above mentioned. Saying all this, it's still an unbelievable app and I have even considered doing a new album using just this app, then dumping the track into GarageBand and recording my piano there.
