Version 1.2 completely stopped working on iOS12. Update: Now back to 3 stars. Version 1.3 is now working again. Only 3 stars because it took 6 month for the update. Why did that take so long? ### 3/5 — Great app one major flaw *2016-05-22, version 1.0* This is a great app, superb sounds and easy to use nice interface to create unlimited backing tracks, but there is a major problem when you export your tracks to any daw system, the session band bpm clock does not match with the one you are using in your daw project, if they can solve this issue, it will become the perfect backing track in the market. Same issue with all the UK Music apps. ### 5/5 — Useful tool *2015-08-18* A really great tool and application for creating great drum tracks right on your iPad! Mixing my own beats is really easy and fun with this tool. The layout and design of the app makes it easy to use. If you love to create drum tracks this is the perfect tool in your arsenal! ### 2/5 — I was expecting more... *2015-08-11* I'm using this on an iphone. I don't like the sound of the loops when you change the tempo even a little bit. The arrangement of loops is hard to navigate, just a big list that doesn't include the tempo in the title or an audio preview and the program doesn't remember your place when you go back to the loops from the arrangement. I could take an arrangement like this A-A-A-Afill-B-B-B-Bfill-C-C-C-Cfill apply all the styles I want, export them and delete the program. Garageband or Sampletank may do a better job of changing the tempo, I don't know. ### 2/5 — Sharing nightmare!! *2015-08-11* Metronome switch not working. before audio copying all attempts to switch metronome off fail. So cannot share without this annoying tick all the way through drum beat. App is very promising but on this occasion I must give it 2 stars. Ps tempo not great too! Devices used: iPad Mini 32gb 2nd Generation and iPad Air 2 128gb ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2015-08-10* I've purchased almost all of the other SessionBand volumes, but this one really missed the mark. No more than a so-so drum machine. I expected a bit more, seeing that the other ones were really good. Hopefully UK music get back to the full band editions. Session Band Jazz, is an other world!!! ### 1/5 — Poor quality *2015-09-01* There are a number of issues with this app. One, in this day and age where you can buy excellent drum loops for little money, this app is light years behind. There are a handful of fills for each profession. There is no way of knowing what pattern or fill does what. My oh have to go through each one and write it down to keep track of it. The audio quality is poor. You can hear the high hat stand or pedal squeaking. There are awful overtones from the snare on some of the tracks. Basically, if you just want a limited metronome with real drum sounds then this may work for you. If are hoping for a drum program that raises the bar and could be useful for recording on an iPad this falls way short. ### 2/5 — Warum bekomme ich keine Rechnung ? *2024-08-03* Hallo, ich habe heute die Apps SessionBand jazz4 und drums im applestore gekauft. Will sagen, wenn ich alle Drums mute außer der Kick, ist immer noch die Snare und die HiHat zu hören, und zwar relativ laut. Noch ein Stern weniger. Es ist ewig her, dass ein Update kam. ### 2/5 — the sound quality is poor *2016-07-18, version 1.0* i have all sessionband apps and this is the only one that has very low quality drum samples maybe is the sample rate i don't know but please fix it ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Easy, high quality drum accompaniment in 2026 *2026-05-08* I think this is a really quality app, there are rafts of excellent sounding loops (real drums played by a versatile pro, and it shows) and they string together seamlessly any which way you want. The process of stringing the patterns and fills together is easy after some light experimentation, way more straightforward than other drum apps in my arsenal (simplicity=win). The downside of that though is you can’t create your own bespoke patterns, so if you want to obsess over specifics it’s not for you. But if your needs are simply for a solid virtual drummer who knows a heap of realistic sounding patterns and fills (cos hey, they ARE real) then this absolutely ticks the box. I’m a bass player and I use the app to jam along with at home - the variety it offers is more than enough for my needs. Great playing by Ralph Salmins. If you want a ‘real’ drummer playing on your tracks, I would recommend this app. There’s even styles in 5/4 and 7/4. ### 5/5 — Inspired *2019-07-11* Huge selection of real drum loops. I’d like more care of ending patterns because when I use them for songs, at the end they sound so abrupt. ### 5/5 — Great Tool *2017-07-10* Everything I have from Session Band has worked beautifully to provide a set of excellent musical tools for both study and for performance. Many of the reviews for Session Band Drums have been on the negative side. I can definitely understand this because, by itself, Session Band Drums does not offer as much as the other Session Band apps that provide drum parts, bass parts, chord parts, and much more. However, for the simple purpose I have in mind for Session Band drums, it really has provided a great tool. My recommendation is that potential users of Session Band Drums make sure, before purchasing, that they are not going to be asking too much from the app. If they want more than what Session Band Drums can provide, I recommend that they find a what they are looking for in Session Band Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Acoustic, Piano, etc. I hope this helps! ### 5/5 — So easy to create songs ! *2015-09-14* Please, consider adding accoustic drum ´n bass and jungle beats in next update...or version 2 ! They're great 'no nonsense bread and butter' loops! And considering what they sell at, amazing! I've transferred all of mine into Logic Templates, and I can now knock up a song idea in less than an hour.
