The organic feeling of the assets when put together give a good fluid realistic backing band. Very easy to operate and save result. My only criticism and one I don't think they'd be able to fix easily, is the omission of some chord types like quartal and So What voicings. The quartals for Tyner and Ogerman style arrangements. Apart from the things other reviewers mention, my biggest bugbear is the lack of export / copy options, as Audiocopy is so unreliable. Am now sick of waiting for Audiocopy to process my tracks, only to get the error 'File not found' and Sessionband freezes. Somebody needs to get their act together. I'm on a new iPad Pro with latest iOS update. ### 4/5 — Great.....and *2017-10-18* I have all the SessionBand collection , the quality is superb, easy to use, if only you could import into Logic as separate tracks for further editing etc....this is what the mac OS X needs big time, easier than Band in a box , better for mac .....ok...mac version of SessionBand ?! Sounds and feels like real musicians rather than midi generated sounds. Great for practising for playing in a group. Limited for use at gigs. A few problems that would make it fantastic. 1. An easier way to stop. When performing with this app there's no simple way to stop the backing which makes it awkward. To be able to either program the number of repeats or tap for an ending would be good 2. I'd like to be able to move saved backings of my own between the three apps. As it is now you have to reprogram tracks in each app if you want to try a style from a different app. 3. Why are the chords all so obscure? Why not just a C7 for example? Being a pianist I only use the bass and drums so it's "OK" but it's strange that the chord options are so limited and mostly unusual chords. 4. Can future updates be made available as an in app purchase rather than a new app. Having three versions of the same app is strange. ### 2/5 — Great app but constantly crashing *2016-09-29* I am a music teacher and professional musician in Ontario Canada. I find these apps to be an amazing way to get professional sounding backing tracks for play along practice. It is very much like a simplified and therefore more practical version of band in a box. I use it on my iPhone and mirror it to the TV and stereo. Sounds great. Good job guys. Here is the bad news and the reason for the two stars: this app crashes every time I use it. (iPhone 6s plus) It probably needs an update for iOS 10. I emailed the company but received no feedback. Please fix this, as I would like to use this app regularly. When I first saw it. Recommended by a jazz musician. However, as soon as I started to use it to create a backing track - I couldn’t find the chords I needed ( no 9th or 7#9! ) and the user interface is so clunky and unhelpful. That I ended up abandoning my practice session! Angry and frustrated that I had obviously been “sold a pup”! Yet another music app that gets in the way of the music and kills the vibe. Very disappointing! ### 1/5 — Poor edit page *2021-04-07* Good loops but the whole app is not well designed. No pause/play button in the edit screen. This basic feature has been requested for years but developers don’t listen. Makes a potentially very useful app... into frustrating amateur rubbish! ### 1/5 — It drains the battery *2017-01-07* This app and all the other sessionband apps I've bought (7 different ones) drain the battery when left open in the background (eventhough not in function!). I've mentionned this to the support and they told me they knew about it and they would release an update in the next few days... It was 1 month ago. They also said the new versions didn't have the problem: i bought this 3rd version of Jazz and I encountered the same problem (i.e. My IPad totally empty after one night) ### 1/5 — Leider unintuitive Bedienung *2016-02-13* Ich war zunächst begeistert, als ich die Trailer zu dieser App sah und hörte. Leider stellt sich heraus, dass die App, die so reduziert erscheint, in der Bedienung total unintuitiv ist. Die Speicher-Funktion versteckt sich z.B. hinter einem Icon, das normalerweise für Exporte oder Versand per Email genutzt wird. Das ist schon nicht so üblich, doch dass man zum Laden der Datei eben auch auf dieses Export-Symbol klicken muss - wie soll man darauf kommen? Auch funktioniert das kopieren und einsetzen bei weitem nicht so schnell, wie suggeriert, einfach weil mal so viel probieren oder üben muss, bis man einigermaßen die Schritte drauf hat. Es wurde bis jetzt leider immer schlimmer, d.h. selbst mit viel Zeit nehmen, systematisch durchgehen, kommt man nicht an den Punkt, an dem man nichts Wichtiges vermisst. Das ist dann frustrierend. Ich denke mit iRealpro fährt man besser, trotz schlechteren Sounds. ### 1/5 — Useless *2015-12-02* Nice samples & sound quality. It was so easy and produced such a great backing track. Jazz 4 please! The edit mode could be a bit slicker in order to help build up long tracks, but otherwise nicely put together. I love the sound of BiaB with real tracks but it isn't convenient to have the computer all of the time.
