## What is Set?

Set – Strength Insights is a private iPhone strength-training companion for the full training loop: plan the work, capture it quickly, turn it into strength insight, and act on the next decision.

No social feed. No content platform. Just training data, planned workouts, timers, readiness context, video review, and progress.

FAST WORKOUT LOGGING
Log sessions from natural text, voice dictation, or a workout photo.
Review and edit parsed results before saving.
Paste or scan planned workouts before training, including complex lift prescriptions such as 3 Clean + 2 Front Squat, run them set by set, and save the completed session into normal history.
Link same-day Apple Health strength workouts to Set sessions and keep available Health metrics in workout details.
Scan percentage or RPE-based sessions from a whiteboard and turn them into exact target loads.

LOAD CHECK READINESS
With Set Unlimited, Load Check estimates whether today looks like a good day to push heavy using Set training history, Apple Health recovery signals when available, active planned-workout context, and optional on-device soreness check-ins.
See Recovery, Confidence, and Freshness scores, daily HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep, lift-specific freshness, failed-attempt awareness, tuning controls, local accuracy feedback, widgets, and lift-detail metrics.
Load Check is a training estimate, not a medical measurement.

WIDGETS & GLANCEABLE ACCESS
Pin Quick Log, Capture %, Start a Timer, Planned Workout, Recent Training, Top Lifts, or a favorite lift to Home Screen and Lock Screen placements.
With Set Unlimited, add Active Timer, Lift Insight, Percent Targets, Planned Workout, Progress Summary, and Load Check widgets for live timer state, active plan progress, estimated maxes, working weights, weekly momentum, and readiness context.

CONDITIONING TIMER
Use the dedicated Timer tab for AMRAP, For Time, EMOM, and Tabata / Interval work.
With Set Unlimited, record direct-camera competition videos with a visible timer overlay for online qualifiers and challenge submissions, plus optional Concept2 PM5 or Rogue Echo Bike calorie or meter overlays.
Start timers from Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, widgets, Control Center, or Apple Watch.
Control active sessions from your wrist with Set Unlimited and keep eligible timers on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

LIFT INTELLIGENCE
Track estimated 1RM, rep-maxes, target tables, custom percentage calculations, trend lines, on-device percentiles, and Load Check metrics in lift detail.
Supported lifts can also use the bar-path workflow with one-rep trim, frame stepping, steadier tracking recovery, and exported overlay metrics.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Local-first storage on device.
Export and restore full Set Backup files for structured workout history and app settings.
Import workout history from CSV or TSV spreadsheet exports.
Optional iCloud sync when available; existing Set Unlimited users stay local-only until they enable it in Me.
No account required.

Set Starter includes generous limits.
Set Unlimited is a one-time lifetime unlock.
No subscription.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.16.0 — 2026-06-29

Competition video retakes are safer in Set 1.16.0.

Improved
- Retaking a competition video now warns that the timer overlay will be lost.
- Before resetting for another take, Set saves the raw camera video to Photos so you keep an editable copy.

Fixed
- Various bug fixes and polish across timer handling, competition-video review, premium routing, and widgets.

### 1.15.0 — 2026-06-22

Today's plan now gets Load Check context before you start, so heavy-day decisions stay close to the workout you already planned.

New
- Load Check guidance can appear on today's scheduled Saved Plan when Set has enough readiness signal, with cues like keep the plan, add a check set, or reduce top work.
- Workout location pins let newly logged sessions store a single map pin. Session detail can show the place, replace it with current location or search, or remove it later.

Improved
- The active planned-workout runner now keeps current-lift Load Check guidance near tracked blocks without changing planned sets, reps, or loads.
- Lift freshness and soreness explanations are clearer in Load Check, including affected areas and readiness caps.
- Target sets in the planned-workout runner are easier to remove while editing the workout.

### 1.14.0 — 2026-06-13

Set 1.14.0

Improved
- Lift cards now show lift-specific readiness, so you can spot which movements look fresher before opening detail.
- Load Check now factors cardio load into heavy-day readiness and explains Health zone load more clearly in session detail.
- Onboarding now covers Set's full training workflow, and Lift Analytics opens with a coach-style period brief plus clearer priority-ranked insights.
- Complex lift prescriptions such as 3 Clean + 2 Front Squat now stay grouped across logging, planned workouts, Saved Plans, backups, share codes, and session history.
- Planned workouts show richer block metadata, backup files open through the right restore path, and competition recording keeps the camera locked in the right orientation.

Fixed
- First-run onboarding no longer gets marked complete while the splash screen hides it.
- Locked Timer Live Activity upsell stays with primary actions and wraps on small screens.
- Open Workout Program imports split plain Day 1 / Day 2 labels into separate Saved Plans, tolerate smart quotes, and handle equal left/right rep pairs.

And much more.

### 1.13.0 — 2026-06-06

Set 1.13.0

New
- Sort lift cards by improvement, name, last performed, or needs attention, and pin a priority lift to the top.
- Open Lift Analytics from the Lifts summary for charts, movers, stale lifts, missing maxes, and action rows.
- Log now shows today's scheduled Saved Plan beside the weekly goal with quick start context.

Improved
- Load Check adds clearer training guidance, sleep-quality labels, optional Health signal availability, and better local calibration.
- Higher-rep sets now seed estimated 1RM conservatively for lift cards, trends, and targets.
- Pinned lifts now have a visible indicator, smoother reorder animation, and safer delete confirmation.

### 1.12.0 — 2026-05-31

Load Check is the headline of this release: Set Unlimited now helps you decide whether today looks good for heavy work before you push.

New
- See a main Log readiness card combining Apple Health recovery signals, Set training history, lift freshness, planned-workout context, and optional on-device soreness.
- Open details for circular Recovery, Confidence, and Freshness scores, daily HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep, and the factors moving each lift.
- Failed attempts now stay in history and inform freshness without raising estimated 1RM.
- Use Load Check widgets and lift-detail metrics to keep readiness context close.

Improved
- Saved Plans are easier to search, move into Programs, import, and preview with calmer Reduced Motion-aware transitions.
