## What is Setlist Strength Log?

Setlist tells you what to lift next session.

Log your sets and, when you finish, every exercise gets a verdict: add weight, add reps, or back off. The rule is two-for-two, read off your own working sets and your own rep and RIR targets. No coach attached, no model, no server. The number for next time is on the finish screen, and on the exercise card the moment the last set is checked.

Under that it is a log for barbell, dumbbell, machine and bodyweight training. You build routines, run them in the gym, and it keeps the record.

LOGGING
A workout opens as a table: set, what you did last time, weight, reps, and an optional RIR column. Checking a set fills it from last time. Set types cover warm-up, drop and failure sets. Supersets are grouped. Exercises can be added, replaced or reordered mid-session.

The rest timer starts on its own when you check a set and notifies you when it ends, so it works with the phone in your pocket.

The plate calculator knows your bar and your gym's plates.

ROUTINES AND PROGRAMS
A routine is an ordered list of exercises, each with a prescription: sets, rep range, target RIR, rest, tempo, notes and superset group. Routines live in folders, and a folder can be scheduled as a program of several weeks with an optional deload week. Home shows which week you are in and which routine is next.

PROGRESSION
Home flags lifts that have stalled: top working-set load has not risen in six weeks while you keep reaching the top of the rep range. It also shows working sets per muscle this week against last, and names the muscles under target for your goal. Fixed rules on your own logged sets; there is no model, no server and no network call.

HISTORY
A month calendar marks the days you trained. Every workout keeps its sets, per-set estimated 1RM, duration and volume, and can be edited later or saved back as a routine. Each exercise has a chart over three months, a year or all time for heaviest set, estimated 1RM, best set, session volume or total reps, a personal-record table, and a pinned note that shows up every time you do that lift.

Estimated 1RM uses the Epley formula on sets of twelve reps or fewer and excludes warm-ups. Set volume is weight times reps.

EXERCISES
167 exercises are built in, each with primary and secondary muscles, equipment, logging kind, short form cues and a front-and-back muscle map. Add your own, and merge duplicates without losing sessions.

BODY
Weight, body fat and fourteen tape sites, with a chart and a seven-entry moving average. Setlist reads weight and body fat from Apple Health, so a scale that writes there lands in the app on its own, and saves finished workouts back as strength sessions. Both are off until you switch them on; body measurements are never written back.

IMPORT AND EXPORT
Setlist reads the CSV and zip exports produced by other training apps: workouts, routines, measurements and the prescriptions written into coach notes. Export workouts and body data as CSV at any time.

PRIVACY
There is no account and no sign-up. Your workouts, routines and exercises are stored on your iPhone and in your own iCloud private database, which is what syncs them between your devices. Body measurements stay on the device they were entered on. There is no Setlist server, and the developer cannot see any of it. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party services.

One-time purchase. No subscription and no in-app purchases.

Setlist is a training log, not medical advice. Check with a doctor before you start or change a training program.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.5 — 2026-09-26

Suggested workouts and programs now take your time and your focus. Say how long you have and what to train, swap any exercise, and compare program splits before you pick one.

Gyms and equipment: tell Setlist what each gym has, and suggestions only use what you can do there. Add your own equipment with a name, a photo and the exercises it is for. It is in the menu at the top of Home.

During a workout, each exercise shows the note from its last session beside its name, and Setlist offers the swap you usually make.

Finishing a workout no longer leaves exercises you did not do in your history.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-25

The verdict comes first. When you finish a workout, the finish sheet opens on one card per exercise: the load for next session and one sentence on why. The same verdict now appears on the exercise card the moment its last working set is checked.

Home gives one nudge, one line. Train opens on the workout you should start next, with a muscle map on every routine showing what it covers.

One colour throughout; the palette picker is gone. Numbers are set in a rounded tabular face. Chart captions are gone; the average names itself and the latest session starts selected.

Layout fixes for large text sizes: the rest bar docks at the bottom, the set table stays on screen, chart controls stack instead of overlapping the axis.
