SetSide brings the three money jobs every freelancer and gig worker needs into one calm, private app: track business miles, turn receipts into categorized expenses, and see a live federal tax estimate built from what you have earned and deducted so far.

YOUR ESTIMATE, EXPLAINED

The Today screen keeps the number that matters front and center: “Set aside about $X for Q3.” Tap it to see the full calculation in plain English—from income and deductions through self-employment tax, the half-SE-tax deduction, the standard deduction, federal brackets, withholding, and payments you already logged.

CAPTURE RECEIPTS IN SECONDS

Photograph a receipt or choose one from your library. On-device text recognition fills in the merchant, date, and total for you to confirm. Categories use familiar names such as Supplies, Software & subscriptions, Meals, and Professional services. The 50% meals rule is applied and explained automatically.

STOP LOSING BUSINESS MILES

Battery-conscious drive detection uses meaningful location changes and visit endpoints instead of continuous GPS. Swipe right for business or left for personal, save a rule for a recurring route, or add a missed trip by address or odometer. Manual mileage works even if you decline background location.

PLAN YOUR WAY

Use a current-year estimate or switch to a 100%/110% prior-year safe-harbor target. Include expected W-2 income and federal withholding for a more realistic picture. Receive local reminders 14 days, 3 days, and the day an estimated payment is due, then log what you paid.

REPORTS READY FOR YOUR ACCOUNTANT

Review a quarter or year by income, expense category, deductible amount, business miles, estimated tax, and payments. Export a clean PDF summary plus separate CSV files for income, expenses, and trips. Receipt images remain attached and exportable.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

There is no account, server, bank connection, or analytics SDK. Receipt recognition happens on-device. Your receipts, trips, and money data stay on your iPhone unless you choose to export them.
