Took an old favorite of mine and made it even better! I especially appreciate including the Toughness mode so I can get a quick “fix” and get right to the challenging/fun part. No pay to win, no subscriptions, reasonable fee to remove ads forever. Found this recommended on Reddit and gave it a shot. A beautiful looking little game to kill 5 minutes here and there, and no annoying ads getting in the way. I paid for the full version just to support the maker, but you really wouldn’t need to. My new favorite. ### 5/5 — Drop 7 Replacement *2021-03-30, version 5.5* Having being a loyal Drop 7 player for many years, I was sad recently to see it dropped from the App Store. However I was delighted to discover SevenBloks, which is actually an improvement on the original game. So it’s a thank you from me, as it’s the one game I’ve had on my phone and used regularly for over 10 years. This is even better. *2020-10-28, version 4.6* I was heartbroken by Zynga’s treatment of Drop 7. They took an amazing game, ruined it with their standard issue software bloat, and then abandoned it completely. Good news! This game is almost identical in mechanics to Drop 7 with a few minor tweaks that frankly make it an even better game. And it has modern quality of life improvements like iCloud sync, a dark mode, and regular updates from a developer who cares about his game and it’s players. On that last point: a recent update caused the game to crash on launch. I emailed the developer and he got back to me within a couple hours. Less than 12 hours later he had a new update not only submitted, but approved and waiting for me in the app store. So far what I've noticed is Sometimes the blocks don't clear when matched as they're supposed to and sometimes the glass blocks don't crack. You should add Drop7 mode where it’s circles and no ice blocks ( I kinda dislike the ice and prefer how it was just cracked circles in drop7). ### 4/5 — Good ideas in the game but not precise in touch response *2024-12-07, version 6.9* Has good ways to make the game more challenging. But it keeps dropping tiles in wrong columns. My only complaint is that they really limit the achievable high score by giving you unusable tiles when you get close to 200,000. Not a fair advantage. Instead of deleting 2 rows, 2 rows + weapon, break 3 rows, break 3 rows + weapon- it should be break 2 rows, break 2 rows + weapon, delete 3 rows, delete 3 rows + weapon. It’s like the post game power up levels are backwards. The break 3 rows seem to always be useless, or at least less effective than deleting 2 rows. It’s addicting because of gameplay, not because mechanics meant to funnel anyone into a cash shop. But I won’t write paragraphs on how other mobile games have wronged us. This is a delightful game in its own right. It’s simple yet fun and has a few secrets too. It works well for passing time on a plane or train. I’m still working on my strategy. You have to be careful where you put low numbered blocks, and also not to let too many lines layer up without numbers. Anyway! I think that Martin and Michel have done an AMAZING job not only making a graphically beautiful game but also customizable settings of the game and adding their own touch of little incentives but without having to pay real money and ads are not super annoying. This made my night and I’m sure I’ll be playing daily now. My husband and I always play this on long flights together and take turns and finally we have it again.
