But the idiotic choose to autoban asking for SNS has me questioning it’s strictness, or if it’s because they insist you pay to use their app, but it’s not working 100% thankfully. Met 2 amazing people in the app offline. But guess what, it didn’t stop us from keeping in touch outside the app as a result. It’s an amazing app nonetheless, and to an extent I haven’t noticed scammers on here BUT it can be pretty dead for multiple weeks at a time. **Developer response:** Glad you met two people offline, that's exactly the point, and it's a miracle these days. Just to set it straight, the SNS thing is a warning, not an autoban, and it's what keeps the scam spam that floods other apps out of here. We're tuning it to be less aggressive. The free tier is fully usable on its own, Pro just adds extras, and if anything could make this a 5 star for you, we want to hear it. ### 2/5 — Has potential but… *2025-12-28, version 6.13.0* I like the idea of this app and the intention behind it, but the rules feel extremely strict and counterproductive. For a new platform, it would make sense to first build a strong user base and trust, instead of charging money so quickly and limiting basic interactions. Being restricted to a very small number of translations, or risking an account ban for simply asking for other contact options, makes the experience frustrating rather than welcoming. I don’t mind paying for good services, but asking for around €20 upfront, while heavily limiting normal communication, feels excessive. In my opinion, the app would benefit a lot from being more open and flexible at the beginning. It was easy and fun to use, and I especially liked the language filter option, which unfortunately is no longer available. I reinstalled the app a month ago and was disappointed to find that starting new conversations is now much harder because you have to pay for it. Also, the free tier is so restrictive you literally can’t even use the text chat, and more than half the users in Japan are obviously foreigners looking to practice their Japanese. I used up my one credit to "initiate” a conversation with an actual Japanese person, when I tried to send an actual message with the request (as the app itself recommended), it said I had to wait 24 hours for another, single credit. Happily, the person responded anyway, but I find it very suspicious that this app is being promoted so heavily for language learners while providing absolutely no useful features and expecting monthly payments for nothing. **Developer response:** Thanks for this, it's genuinely useful feedback. Getting a real reply is awesome, and the other half must be Japanese people looking to make foreign friends too. To be fair, we moved away from language exchange and intentionally dropped those features, so that expectation is right. We have no ads and limit chat requests so people don't get bombarded, but we hear you that the free tier feels too tight, and we're looking at it. ### 1/5 — レビューしろと言われた *2026-03-08, version 6.34.0* 初めてないのにレビューさせられた ### 1/5 — NO, don’t get. *2025-10-20, version 5.184.0* Most don’t reply. It’s just another app people either ignore or has fake profiles. The freemium format is played out and limits your ability to use it though with replies limited it’s just a ways of time. ### 1/5 — Chats are paywalled *2025-07-04, version 5.184.0* Either I’m not getting something or even most basic functions in this app like starting a chat are paywalled ### 1/5 — No longer free. Forcing to pay pro version *2025-07-02* Used to be able to request chat for free but now theg put a paywall for that too. So now there is only the option to wait and maybe someone messages you. If you dont pay you are stuck waiting. Smh **Developer response:** Starting conversations is not a Pro feature. Free users can send chat requests too, just fewer per day than Pro. Pro only increases your daily chat request limit. The free tier still lets you browse, and message people without paying. ### 1/5 — Uniquement en sortant la CB *2025-06-09* Je comprend pas on ne peut rien faire sur l’application, ni envoyer de message, ni communiquer… si vous voulez faire n’importe quoi de basique il faut sortir la Carte **Developer response:** La version gratuite permet d'envoyer des demandes de chat et de répondre aux messages reçus. Le compte Pro offre simplement un nombre de demandes plus élevé. Pas besoin de carte bancaire pour découvrir et utiliser l'appli. ### 1/5 — Buggy app and have to spend money to use *2025-04-27* The app is buggy I have to click multiple times to do something. And I thought it was free but I have to spend money so sadly I will have to uninstall and delete my profile. The app doesn’t seem bad but with the constant tapping is to much of a bother **Developer response:** The tap bugs are fixed in the current build, so update the app and they should clear up. The app has a free tier: you get limited chat requests, and replying is unlimited. So no matter where you move or travel too you can say hello and meet up in a public safe place and connect. I’ve had some success, and it helps knowing there’s a section in the app where you can tell people when you are available on what day and time so they can reach out on their free time too.
