## What is SewYardage?

SewYardage tells you how much fabric to buy for your next sewing project — before you're standing at the cutting counter doing math in your head.

Most "fabric calculators" are just a length times a number. SewYardage is built around how garments are actually cut, so the estimate accounts for the things that trip people up.

PICK YOUR PROJECT
- Choose a garment: skirt, dress, blouse/shirt, pants, jacket or a child's garment.
- Choose a size (S, M, L, XL) and your fabric width — 90, 110, 115, 140 or 150 cm (36, 44, 45, 54 or 60 in).
- See the yardage instantly, in both yards and meters.

ACCOUNTS FOR THE HARD PARTS
- With nap / one-way fabrics (velvet, corduroy, directional prints) add extra for a single-direction layout.
- Plaid and stripe matching adds fabric for repeat matching, based on the garment's major pattern pieces and your fabric's repeat length.
- On-fold vs single-layer cutting.
- Your own safety margin for shrinkage, mistakes and matching.
