### 2/5 — Too expensive

*2026-08-29*

I only went on it for one day and I had to pay for the rest. I’m broke ok? (Joke) It’s a bit advanced but the learning in general was ok

### 3/5 — Still buggy

*2026-07-29*

This app has a great concept and design, but it simply doesn’t have the ai intuition to pick up what speakers are saying. I spend most of the time yelling at the app and repeating myself over and over because the buttons don’t record on the first press or it autocorrects to nonsense. It becomes so frustrating to use, I always give up. The tools and lessons are useful but a bit short sighted, lacking application for the grammar points. I think with more development it could be a highly recommended app.

### 2/5 — Trouble picking up speech

*2026-07-16*

I really want to love this app. The interface is smooth, the lessons are helpful. But the biggest problem for me is that it only picks up half of what I say. I wait until it’s listening, then speak, and it will catch only the last word of my sentence, no matter how slow or fast I talk, or how close or far from the mic I am. I’ve tried from different devices multiple times, and it just doesn’t perform well enough to be useable. I wish it were different, because this app concept and the leveling of the lessons would be a wonderful addition to my learning.

### 3/5 — Always having to pay

*2026-06-04*

It is like this with other apps too, but at least with Duolingo you don’t have to pay for a monthly trial. They just give you the option, but with Seyo you have to pay for trial before you can do any other lessons I can’t even get to the next lesson because they want me to pay and I hate this if they can at least make you not have to pay. I will download this app again, but overall this app is pretty good. I just don’t like how you have to pay because there’s no way I’m paying that much money just to speak Korean when I can go and get Korean lessons myself…

### 4/5 — needs some technical work

*2026-04-20, version 1.1.3*

Conceptually this app is perfect, but in many areas the AI models used are not sophisticated enough. The AI conversations are nonsense or worse; one asked to borrow my phone, and when I asked why, it threatened to borrow my wallet. Pronunciation feedback doesn’t exist.

Despite that it is still pretty good, compared to your average language app

### 3/5 — I can't access the app

*2026-04-15*

Sooo I didn't even test the app cuz it wouldn't let me try it?? Like I installed it and then I clicked on it to get on Seyo and the app instantly went off so ? Idk if it's a bug or smth cuz i have the right version and enough storage i just want to know what happening because it kept happening with other apps sometimes i will redo a review once i test it if I can

### 3/5 — PAYING

*2026-04-04, version 1.1.1*

Great learning app but after your first lesson you would have to pay to go on with Seyo! Recommended unless you wanna pay.

### 3/5 — French please

*2026-03-30*

I really like Seyo but this is in English, if Seyo can as a French version I’m sur my korean become best !

### 3/5 — So close to amazing

*2026-03-28*

I love the ttmik resources, and I want to love this app and service so much, but it’s not quite there. The pronunciation help is amazing, but like other reviewers have said, it sometimes has issues with recognizing that i have spoken at all.

My real complaint is the order of the lessons. I know it’s technically a separate service from the others in the ttmik family, but I wish the lessons were in the same order as they occur in the book and video lesson series. Seyo is an amazing resource, but with the very brief explanations of grammar concepts and minimal vocabulary, it feels like a supplement rather than a whole learning plan on its own. And when I have to rote memorize large chunks of vocabulary to make it through a speaking lesson I won’t be doing the textbook written and listening work for until weeks later it’s frustrating. For a premium app with a subscription, I won’t be renewing until it is more cohesive with the rest of the company’s resources. PLEASE CONSIDER FIXING THIS. I would be a subscriber for life if this were the case.

### 2/5 — Not good at all

*2026-03-20*

I bought a year subscription because it was recommended by TTMIK which I like a lot but unfortunately I do not like this app. at all. The voice recognition is very glitchy and frequently leaves parts out or doesn’t register what I am saying at all. It’s also extremely slow to respond so getting through one lesson is very painful and frustrating.
I find the lessons do not help much with speaking as nothing is repeated so I will just forget what I learned as I hear it as a one time thing.
I’m disappointed as I really like the TTMIK website and materials. I have bought many of their books and their content is great. I’m very disappointed this app is not useful and I’ve wasted a lot of money on it.

### 2/5 — Call option

*2026-02-18*

The voice recognition keeps mishearing me. The microphone works, but the app doesn’t pick up or recognise what I say even if I speak in my native language. It is very frustrating

### 4/5 — First time Use

*2026-02-16*

I’m still very new to the Korean language so getting to use something that could build up my confidence in speaking and enforcing knowledge is a very big must. I see a lot of potential with the app, especially with the pronunciation registry that helps build tone and clarity with words.
On the other hand, I can also see where it can use a little more detail. For example the way the app tries to catch my voice isn’t often very good. It seems to pause too long, almost glitching, and sometimes even disappearing all together with the little green face. Also it’d probably be good to make the little green face more apparent to when it is recording the voice as it’s rather hard to tell when it is and isn’t. This is just the coding so it can be fixed.
The other thing I’d like to see is a little more connection with other things. The simplicity of the app is very nice but I don’t see a lot of correlation with what we’re being taught with the Seyo conversation starters/role play given to us. And what is being taught isn’t really being enforced past the initial lesson.
Still, it’s a new app so there is plenty of room for development!

### 3/5 — Love it but

*2026-02-10*

I love it but it keeps lagging like when I repeat something it will lag or freeze and I have to go in and out of the app and then telling me I didn’t say something correctly (when I know I did) 이건 is not hard to say. I talk to my Korean friend on hello talk who also confirm I said it correctly. The speech recognition needs to be updated or something. I changed my tone to make it lighter, I moved the phone away from being too close to my mouth and it still isn’t recognizing

### 2/5 — It’s great when it works

*2026-01-14, version 1.0.19*

I enjoy the app because I really like the TTMIK group. But this app sometimes just doesn’t hear what I’m saying and it makes it frustrating compared to other language apps that I’ve used without issue

### 3/5 — Helpful, but needs work.

*2026-01-10, version 1.0.19*

I know my pronunciation isn’t perfect, but my native Korean language partner can understand me fine. Unfortunately even with basic phrases seyo cannot understand me or misses half of the sentence I say - but only on the role play portions which is weird. The rest seems to work fine. It gets extremely frustrating.

### 3/5 — Put a button to stop recording!!!

*2026-01-05, version 1.0.19*

For goodness sakes! Will you guys please put a button in this app that notifies the application that you’ve stopped speaking in the voice recognition parts? Sometimes you have to wait upwards of 15 seconds or more for the application to figure out that you stopped talking, only for it to give you a poor grade because the microphone didn’t catch everything you had said. SOOO archaic and frustrating!!!

### 4/5 — Good app for very motivated learners

*2026-01-04*

I like how the team of TTMIK doing their job, it is not the first product that I buy from them. They put a lot of efforts in their products and it is very good quality. But what I noticed with their products: the products are for very very motivated learners. I get bored very quickly with their products that don’t happen with me during using other Korean language resources (I study Korean for 3 years). Which is a pitty as I really love the quality of the materials they are doing. I wish that one day the team will focus more in engagement of users through their products.

### 4/5 — Love the lessons and AI

*2026-01-02*

I had been using TTMIK lessons for a year before starting on Seyo, and always lamented not being able to practice speaking. I finally started Seyo and I was blown away.

I love the structured lessons and a separate section for freestyle practice with the AI.
Note that I had completed all lessons in TTMIK first before embarking on Seyo. It’s not ideal to learn first without practicing speaking but the two curricula are different so if you’re trying to follow along, u will get confused. Seyo uses a wide range of vocab and even some intermediate forms at level 2 onwards (to mimic real life situations) and while they try their best not to mix it up too much, it is something to be mindful of, that the grammar form will be properly taught later on. This is especially obvious with the freestyle AI chats - thank goodness for the translation!

The only down side is the voice recognition is still really buggy and server is laggy. It sometimes hangs and often mishears me (I am pretty sure I said it correctly). I sometimes find I can speak at a normal volume and other times I am shouting at it but it still doesn’t pick it up. Compared to similar AI eg Papago and even ChatGPT which can mishear me too (perhaps minor pronunciation like 있 instead of 이 or ㅋ instead of ㄱ, or adding in an extra ㅆ which could be my fault) but they mostly pick up my speech loudness so I know it’s not my phone’s mic at fault.

Otherwise I am now slowly building the confidence to communicate with my Korean friends after 2 years! I really love Seyo and really appreciate the TTMIK team who put in so much effort and deliver the program with love! 사랑해요!

### 3/5 — Good in theory!

*2025-12-28*

Nice interface and very user friendly but a little bit buggy! Retrying answers does not always reset the evaluation of your answers, and the voice to text is very hit and miss. Absolutely love ttmik and love the idea of an app to do exercises but this is quite expensive and (imo) would be better without ai or evaluation because they are both unreliable.

### 4/5 — Great app to help you but glitches a little

*2025-12-24*

I’ve been using this app for a week and overall it’s a lot of fun to help you practice speaking! I love the broken down lessons and it’s easy to follow along. I know this app is very new still so they still have some things to work on. My only small complaint is sometimes it won’t recognize my voice and clicking the green button doesn’t let me restart. I have to exit the app to reset it. But overall i wish there were more apps like this that make you speak!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not good for beginners

*2026-08-08*

You can use it for practising but Not to learn it When you can read and speak korean It’s Perfect When Not dont try it!

### 1/5 — App is having issues where it can’t hear me properly when i speak

*2026-03-19, version 1.1.0*

Like the title says

### 1/5 — false advertisement

*2026-02-09, version 1.1.0*

baits you into thinking it’s free but none $17 a month

### 1/5 — Too expensive

*2025-11-29*

Can barely do anything on this app without paying, seems like a good app but wouldn’t know because you have to pay 17.99 a month.

### 1/5 — Great idea, currently not working

*2025-07-02*

I love TTMIK products and would love to use this, but the voice recognition just tells me I’m saying it wrong but no feedback on how to fix it. Or do it better.
I wanted to use this to fine tune my pronunciation as I’m currently on Level 5, but it’s just not working and I know my pronunciation isn’t all that bad to begin with.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the feedback! We're currently working on improving the pronunciation feedback system to make it more helpful. Your input really helps us understand where to improve — we appreciate it!

### 1/5 — Crashes every day

*2025-05-27*

I have tried getting support in the app but never got a reply. Now you can’t choose a category so it’s impossible to ask for support. Complete waste of time

**Developer response:** We’ve confirmed that selecting a support category is still available in the app, so we'd love to understand more about what happened.
If you don’t mind, could you share the email address or user ID you used in the app? That would really help us look into it more accurately.

### 1/5 — only 1 unit is free in trail

*2025-05-17*

Today I activated the 7 days free trail, but could only learn 1 small unit. is that on purpose that one can only learn 1 unit even though the free trail is in for 1 week? sorry but getting to know the app and deciding to buy the subscription based on 1 unit makes me feel uncomfortable.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review. Just to clarify—our 7-day free trial is meant to give full access to all learning content. If only one unit was available, there may have been a temporary error or account issue. It’s definitely not our intention to limit your experience during the trial. We recommend logging in again or contacting support so we can assist. We understand how important it is to explore enough before deciding on a subscription, and we want to make sure that’s possible.

### 1/5 — TOO EXPENSIVEEEE

*2025-04-18*

We can only do ONE unit then we have to buy a subscription. I mean what the freak ?! I really want to learn Korean and there are few apps for it. That’s a shame.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your honest feedback about our service pricing. We understand your concerns. We strive to provide top-quality content and exclusive features, and we're continuously adding more value to enhance your experience. We'll keep working to make our service even better for you.

### 1/5 — Es geht nichts ohne Abo

*2025-02-28*

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for sharing your feedback. 😊
Currently, we offer one unit and an AI chat for free, and you can experience all content through a 7-day free trial. We understand that different learners have different needs, and we appreciate your thoughts on our pricing model and free content availability.
Regarding subscription integration across our apps, this is something our team continues to review. Your feedback is valuable, and we will discuss this internally to explore potential improvements.
As for the speech recognition feature, we’re continuously working on updates to enhance its accuracy. If you’re experiencing frequent recognition errors with specific words or phrases, we’d love to hear more details so we can improve the experience.
We truly appreciate your input and will keep working to provide the best learning experience possible. Thank you again for your valuable feedback! 🙌

### 1/5 — Unfortunately, the app does not recognize my spoken words

*2025-02-17*

I have to deliberately mispronounce words and sentences so that the app recognizes my words as supposedly correct. Unfortunately, this makes the app unusable.

**Developer response:** We apologize for not meeting your expectations with our voice recognition system. We understand your frustration and want to assure you that improving this feature is our top priority. We truly appreciate your honest feedback as it helps us make Seyo better for all users.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-09-04*

The phone call feature works a treat!! It helps me to be consistent with my conversation practice! 고맙다!😉

### 5/5 — Well…

*2026-08-15*

I’m putting this as 5 stars so you guys can see it but I feel like it definitely expected me to already know way more Korean then I do. I just got this app and it was already expecting me to be able to call people in another language I don’t understand yet. This app is definitely challenging but I really needed to fully understand the basics before I get to something more skilled and complex like that.

### 5/5 — BEST AI Korean app I know

*2026-08-08*

So I’ve been using the Seyo app for a few months now and originally I was using jump speak and was trying to do some other things and I ended up getting a refund for that and investing into this. So I trust their reputation and figured I’d give it a try.
And honestly have to say that it has to be one of the best AI apps for Korean specifically since obviously that’s all it’s for, but the best AI speaking app that there is. Jump speak was cool but it just was too AI if you know what I mean in that it would be more generic its responses, but with this app, the amount of memory it holds, remembering your past conversations sounding like a real person and having different emotions to be able to speak and practice with is honestly so amazing. I would highly highly highly recommend TTMIK Seyo app for the AI call feature alone just because when you don’t have a lot of other people to speak Korean to like me since now I’m back in America after being in Korea, it’s very valuable to be able to have something reliable enough to speak to. Again it’s not perfect perfect, AI just can’t be that perfect but ultimately if you have good enough pronunciation, it will be able to pick up what you can say. I think that is the only downside to AI apps is that if your pronunciation isn’t good it doesn’t hear you correctly and ends up throwing something in there that you didn’t quite say and so in that way, it can be a little frustrating but to be honest with you it’s something I’m willing to work past. Simply highly recommend especially if you don’t have anybody else to speak. Korean with 10 minutes a day goes a long ways!!!

### 5/5 — Best app for learning Korean

*2026-08-02*

As a Korean language teacher, author, and native Korean speaker, I've tried many Korean-learning resources over the years. Seyo genuinely stands out.

I especially appreciate that it brings together grammar practice, pronunciation training, and open-ended conversation in a single app. The characters’ voices are remarkably natural. They don't sound robotic or like typical TTS voices. The conversations feel surprisingly close to talking with a real Korean speaker, which makes the practice much more immersive.

Another feature I really like is the ability to hide or reveal the English translations of the example sentences. It's a thoughtful design choice that encourages learners to think in Korean first and check their understanding only when needed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great But Voice Recognition Could Improve

*2026-05-27*

This is by far the best app to help in my studying so far, thus why I’m giving five stars. As someone who is terrified to speak with a native speaker until I have more confidence this has been a great outlet to build my confidence. My ONLY complaint is that Seyo will clearly hear me because the AI transcribes my words and yet will give me a low grade. I can usually expect this because Seyo always takes longer to register that I’ve finished speaking in these instances. It’s fine because you still have the option to listen and compare your pronounciation to the example which reaffirms that my pronounciation was close, Seyo just could not catch it.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-04-25, version 1.1.3*

This is exactly what I need for enhancing my Korean speaking skills. I love that it corrects and rates my pronunciation. I know so many words and grammar but my speaking and pronunciation skills are terrible. This app is just perfect for me so I can go back to South Korea and speak to locals with confidence. I’m so glad they have so many units and levels. Thanks!

### 5/5 — A solid comprehensive course

*2026-04-13, version 1.1.2*

This app is a solid platform to improve any level of Korean; the structured conversations help reinforce grammar and pronunciation without making one feel self conscious; Korean isn’t easy but Seyo makes it fun!!

### 5/5 — A Great App for Learning Korean with AI

*2025-10-21*

This app offers a wide variety of learning content, making it perfect for anyone studying Korean. I especially love how it integrates AI into the learning experience it feels like having a personal tutor available anytime. Thanks to the AI-based exercises and feedback, my Korean skills have improved a lot. Highly recommended for learners at all levels!

### 5/5 — Everyday Practice

*2025-09-08, version 1.0.14*

This app has been amazing! It has me speaking Korean every day. I love the way the lessons are structured. You hear the dialogue multiple times from native speakers. The explanation of the phrases you are learning is invaluable. During practice, you can replay your speaking attempts to hear where you are going wrong.

### 5/5 — Best Language Learning App!

*2025-08-26*

Seyo is what other language apps wish they could be — but never will.

Start or continue your Korean journey today! Every unit is a chance to pick up new vocabulary and practice your pronunciation. And if your pronunciation score isn’t perfect? No pressure. You can keep moving forward, learning new phrases, while repeating any tricky units as often as you need.

That’s the beauty of Seyo: fun, engaging, and never a rush. One unit a day is all it takes — and you’ll be Talking to Yourself in Korean in no time. 화이팅!
