I updated to the latest version and suddenly all the instructions for using Zelle point to nothing visible in the app. My feedback in the app received no response. Finally I was able to cal customer service to learn that I had an international status on my account that made Zelle disappear. ### 5/5 — Banking Made Simple *2025-12-19, version 4019.0.3* The app is easy to navigate and does exactly what I need. I can quickly check my balances, move money, and open new products without hunting around. Everything is laid out clearly so banking takes minutes. I can deposit checks, report my debit card lost and get another one reissued immediately. It’s everything you need under one roof. I have been a customer for at least 13 years and I only have good memories to share whenever I think about what they have provided for me and my family. Changed from 1-star to 2-star. Will update again and add another star once release notes are reflective of actual changes and not just copy-pasted by the dev team* The latest update is awful. Click on one of your accounts and see a flash of buttons…buttons that *used* to be there - that *SHOULD* be there - but are not. Why is this update worse than the previous version? Inexplicable. What changed? You’ll never know bc they just copy/paste the same release notes for every version. Lazy and user-hostile. I wan’t to say evil things but holy christ consider yourselves lucky the app store censors reviews with curse words. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever - I’m leaving this bank *2026-03-25, version 4020.0.0* The app never remembers my password, even though it’s saved in my keychain on my iphone. Even when I put it in manually it doesn’t work 50% of the time (I get a notification that it is wrong, which I 100% know is incorrect!!!) and I end up locked out of my account. The work around is changing my password which I have done nearly weekly. I have been in touch with customer support so many times I have the direct line to a bank employee saved on my phone. They have not been able to help other than telling me to change my password yet again and telling me I should buy a brand new iPhone in case my phone is too old (i assure you that’s not the issue and what a ridiculous solution to offer!!) I am a millennial - this is not a lack of skill with technology. Zelle doesn’t cooperate with the app either - even though I enrolled in it and linked my SF Fire credit union account with my Zelle account, incoming transfers still go to my old bank account- with a big bank that starts with a B and ends with an A- so I have not been able to fully switch as I planned. I am living in limbo and now and shopping for another bank to move my money to. ZERO STARS. I cannot find where to Zelle in the app at all. ### 1/5 — App is fine, deposit time is horrendous *2025-09-26, version 4018.0.0* It takes up to a week (sometimes more!) for electronic deposits to clear. Totally unacceptable in this day and a deal breaker for using this once fantastic credit union. ### 1/5 — they could care less about disabled customers *2025-06-16, version 4017.1.1* they refuse to loan disabled people a loan, some ableistic community that hates disabled customers. ### 1/5 — Faulty external account verification *2024-02-09, version 4011.1.0* Don’t use the bank’s preferred instant external account verification system via 3rd party yodlee. It’ll add and confirm your account was added. Then when you initiate transfers, they’ll fail stating your external accounts couldn’t be located and you’ll get hit with return fees. Scam. ### 1/5 — Horrible when updating and communication with its customers. *2022-12-28* When the SF Fire Credit Union updates or revamps the app, there are always problems. If you don’t have apples latest operating system, you are screwed. The women on the phone said every bank is like that, but my other banking apps still work. I have an iPhone 13 and it is only one operating system behind and the SFFCU app doesn’t work. They used to be a very good place to do banking, now they’re customer service and And communication is lacking. The head of the credit union last time had to issue a letter to address all the complaints about the updates. Maybe it’s time for her to go. No option for text or email 2FA. Slow, clunky UI that is not easy to use. Internal member-to-member transfers take HOURS to process. ### 1/5 — Horrible Overflow Call Center *2021-10-01* Member of 15+ years. They apparently have hired some call center to handle over flow calls. It's a glorified answering service. I was told someone would get back to me in 24 hours regarding a simple account inquiry during regular business hours. The old App was better. I would advise new people to not use this App because you would need to open an account, and I would wait until they get their customer service together. UPDATE: New App crashes half the time with Face ID and makes you enter your password. Customer service says to delete and re-install the App, which does nothing. I would advise avoiding these guys all together.
