### 5/5 — AirPods Max Symbol is here!

*2021-06-22*

Took to long to add this as it’s been available since SF symbols 2.4

**Developer response:** “airpodsmax” symbol is now available in SF Symbols 3.0.

### 5/5 — Excellent and simple!

*2021-06-10*

Thank you for making this app!

### 4/5 — Missing Symbols

*2020-11-15, version 1.1.1*

Nice tool, missing symbols from SFSymbols 2!

### 5/5 — Simple. Awesome!

*2020-09-20*

Any chance you’ll be updating this to include the new SFSymbols now available in iOS14?

I wish more developers released simple tools like this.

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Follows Apple HID Guidelines

*2020-06-19*

A job well done sir. Very clean and useful for reference when I don’t want too many windows open on my Mac while in Xcode.

### 5/5 — Well done Artem

*2020-02-28*

I use these a lot when I program iOS stuff and having this app next to me as a reference will help me a lot.

**Developer response:** Glad to hear that, thank you.

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2020-01-26*

I was looking for a simple way to view SF Symbols on the go, and this app does that without any fluff.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-01-01, version 2.1*

Does nothing.

### 1/5 — Why does this happen‽

*2021-05-05*

Hi, I gave this app 1 of 5 stars because of a problem that i have with the symbols. I was so excited to try out everything i saw on the app so i can copy and paste and do cool tricks to show my friends. But when i actually tried to copy and paste, it showed the ? In a box thing, i tried so many other symbols, even the ones that should work like the + symbol, and nothing. If there is an update i need to get or something like that, please let me know so i can rank this app with 5 stars. I am on a iPad 11 pro.

### 2/5 — Copy function broke

*2022-06-18*

Hi Dev
Please fix
iOS 15.5 copy to iMessage / Notes is broken.

### 3/5 — Good

*2025-08-25, version 2.1*

But so stuck

### 3/5 — Does its job

*2025-07-15*

Very laggy on even the latest of iPhone models. You should just try buffering the items when searching, or at least clear the view when you hit Search to reduce lag.

### 3/5 — It depends on your use case

*2020-02-08*

The recent update includes the complete list of symbols in each category, so I raised my rating for it to 3 stars. I didn't rate it higher because of the serious lack of usefulness for sharing the symbols — they can't be seen on iOS. Apparently, this is a limitation of iOS, but knowing it's Apple's fault doesn't make the app any better. If all you want is to browse the symbols and get their names, this app will let you do that.

**Developer response:** UPDATE.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. It helped me a lot.

There was 12 and 2 symbols missing from Devices and Human categories respectively. Version 1.1.1 (3) fixes that.

Unfortunately, custom fonts installation doesn’t affect how the symbols are rendered across the system. Using NSTextAttachment doesn’t help that too. It looks like a deadend. As for notifying a user about that tricky behavior, it will be implemented later.

ORIGINAL RESPONSE.

The app does include all 1679 of the Apple’s SF Symbols.
To look at them tap “All”. My suggestion is that you tried to find the symbol in the category it doesn’t belong to (e.g. “pencil” in “Nature”). Note also that unlike the official macOS app, this one searches *within* a selected category.

Copying and pasting the symbols works as well.
What you might have found surprising is that after you paste a previously copied symbol there is a weird-looking “􀃬” instead. However, it contains valid data. You can check that by copying a symbol in my app and then pasting it in your mac (assuming the pasteboard is shared across the devices, and the macOS “SF Symbols” app is installed). The expected symbol will appear. The problem is that an operating system needs the SF Fonts to be installed to render the symbols inside the strings. The only solution, which came to my mind, is a system-wide font installation using the new API but it doesn’t seem feasible due to the license restrictions.

What did you mean by quick looking with Shortcuts? I haven’t added any kind of support of the Shortcuts app, Siri Shortcuts or Quick Look.

Anyway, thank you for the review. Please tell me whether I understand your usage scenarios correctly.

### 4/5 — Very cool app!

*2025-06-12, version 2.1*

Well designed and has nice features! Would like to have animation support though. Also, the search bar has some major performance issues (lags on iPhone 13 iOS 18.5).

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2025-04-12*

This would be perfect if the search was debounced, or somehow decoupled from the main thread. The search function causes the entire UI to lock up while it’s searching.
Otherwise this is my go to tool for looking up SF Symbols!

### 4/5 — Good app but needs added the save the SVG format

*2022-03-18*

How to save the SVG to my concept project

### 4/5 — Missing SFSymbols 2

*2020-12-31*

Absolutely great resource. Can't wait for SFSymbols 2 support!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — So convenient!

*2025-04-20*

I love having this app handy for grabbing symbols when I’m not near my Mac.

### 5/5 — Love this!

*2025-03-16*

As a student developer and generally a tech savvy person who loves to have unique codes to type out in texts or reference symbols in my projects, this is super helpful and I love it!

It’s simple, easy to use, and has a very appealing UI dynamic to light and dark mode, which is a must!

### 5/5 — It's just what I needed (just what I needed)

*2024-08-19, version 2.1*

I needed SF Symbols. Now I have SF Symbols. Splendid.

@dev, thank you for not collecting user data.

### 5/5 — Does exactly what it says!

*2024-07-15*

Simple, straightforward, and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Well organized life saver

*2024-01-31*

No ads, easy to use, what more could you want?

### 5/5 — Missing color

*2021-11-01*

Would be perfect except the color and language variants can’t be viewed in this app 🙁

### 5/5 — Thank you for making this

*2021-10-25*

I need to be able to browse Apple’s catalog without having to go to my computer. Your app does the job perfectly. Thank you :)

### 5/5 — Handy

*2021-08-16*

Very handy for finding Apple icons. Would be nice if you could attach tags to icons so they can be searched in a custom manner

### 5/5 — Great App, But Facing Question Mark Text Issues From My End.

*2021-07-25, version 1.3.2*

I initially got this app to use the symbols in my Pages and Keynotes documents and I really like the well-built interface and intuitive controls. However, as I was copy and pasting some of the symbols into text boxes, I got the error of having the symbols paste in as question marks in a box instead of rendering correctly. This issue happened to 3/4 of the icons. I beleive it is not an issue with the app maybe it could be with the fonts I have since I only have SF Pro Rounded and SF Pro Text installed. Could you advise me on how to resolve this malfunction?

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2021-07-12, version 1.3.2*

Perfect port of official Mac app.
