It's simple to use and to send send out schedules. I like how I can personalize it in so many ways to find the way that works best for me. Customer service is amazing, I usually get an answer to my questions within a couple minutes. ### 4/5 — Best version to date! *2015-03-18, version 5.7* The improved XML upload is awesome. There have been quite a few enhancements lately but starting with the beginning it has notes, risk management, scheduling, tracking, costs, and project hours. All reporting is in PDFs format with capability of uploading your own logo I would like the reporting to be exportable to Excel but it works great ### 5/5 — Great project app *2015-03-01, version 5.6* I actually had SG Project Pro and used it for an event two years ago. To me, it wasn't particularly user-friendly. I was reluctant to upgrade to the SG Project Pro 5 but the videos I saw using the iPad pushed me over the edge and I purchased it. AM I GLAD I DID!! This app is a lot more user friendly, the videos in the Web Support area are great, and finally, if you still have a problem, Ty, the developer is quick to respond to email requests. You can't ask for any more than that. I have found myself "looking" for projects to use this app for! ### 5/5 — Need iPhone Plus version *2014-12-02, version 5.3.5* Good app ### 5/5 — SG Project 5 *2014-10-20, version 5.2.1* I have been using SG products (SGP) for over a year to manage multiple projects in a product development environment at the Application & Technology Transfer Lab at The Center for Composites Material - UD. This has been quite helpful to manage large groups and multiple projects simultaneously. I am an ex-Microsoft Project (MSP) user and quite frankly find most all the MSP functionality in SGP and more. The ability to include action items, risk items, and issues are extremely helpful. The ability to assign these automatically to resources via email or the drop box is invaluable. All project plans get communicated to my group and clients automatically. The latest release of SG Project Pro 5 is extremely stable and the improved memory management has increased the speed quite considerably. Thanks Ty+ The most valued aspect of SG Products is the technical support. The response times to most of my requests have been within 12 hours which is unheard of in the software support industry. In fact, SG is quite responsive to user requests to include new features - several features I have requested are now in the latest release. I would recommend SG products to any professional who takes program management seriously. Molligdj ### 5/5 — Great app *2014-08-09, version 5.1.1* So right off the bat this app does everything you need to run and manage projects. Over the years I've used custom made spreadsheets, Microsoft Project and just lately Smartsheets to help run business IT projects. This app is just so simple to use with very little work to set up a new project. Sure you'll need to get used to the features and learn some of the basics, but the creators have thought of that and provide useful videos on their website. I have also had first hand experience with after care support, and well what can I say, a response within an hour. If you're looking for an on the go iPad project management app, this is it. ### 5/5 — Serious project planning and tracking *2014-08-01, version 5.1.1* If you need a professional project planning and tracking tool, you should take a serious look at SG. I have a Mac and an iPad and the data integration is seamless. I can make changes on either platform and they're sync'd via the cloud. On my last gig I went from zero to a 50 task project with dependencies in less then an hour. That included resources and costing. I had a pdf report ready for my customer by the time he came to my desk. I use the iPad when I travel to my customer sites and updating and modifying projects is easy. The new version 5 updates make it even simpler. ### 5/5 — Excellent Project Management App *2014-07-01, version 5.1* SG Project Pro 5 is by far the "best of breed" in Project Management applications on any platform. On the iPad platform it will quickly be the most valuable tool in your Project Management "toolbox". Developer is extremely responsive to any questions (if it isn't already covered on the excellent online training videos). SG Project Pro was born from real-life experience and has so much flexibility - it combines scheduling, cost management in a single platform that also manages "Issues", "Risks" and "Action Items". The reporting functions are top notch and can be "tuned" to respective audiences (as needed) with much thought given to automate the mundane tasks. Do yourself a favor, look @ the online training videos @ developers website and you will not be disappointed with your purchase. Don't waste your $$$ anywhere else... Cheers ~ job well done! ### 5/5 — Great Project Management App *2014-05-10, version 5.1* SG Project Pro is a tremendous app that really shows off well what the iPad is capable of doing! For managing projects on the go, it's very hard to beat. It allows you to review and update your projects virtually in real time no matter what location you're at. It works very similarly to Microsoft Project, but is much simpler and more intuitive to use. It's great at managing a single project for just one or two people or for managing multiple projects for many people. The developer is very responsive and has obviously spent a lot of time thinking through things and designing the app to be extremely easy to use and very efficient. If you're wondering what the app is all about and how it works, go to the developer's website and watch the videos to learn all about it. Not only will you learn about the app, but you'll pick up some good tips for project management, also. I've been using SG Project Pro for several years and just decided to upgrade to version 5.1 and it has been well worth it. A great app has become a truly excellent app which now looks and works even better than before. If you manage projects regularly, it is a definite must have for your app toolbox! ### 4/5 — Great App *2014-04-22, version 5.1* I run several large projects at any one time and find this app extremely useful. I would good that on the next update there could be a way that a company logo could be introduced into the report ### 3/5 — Still on the fence *2014-03-26, version 5.0.6* Still on the fence on version 5. I migrated (have to manually move) projects from version 4. Right now, the tasks are the hardest to work in. Version 4 was much more intuitive with things at your fingertips. I find myself searching and fighting for simple navigation between items, and simple functions like linking tasks. I really like the app and think it is very helpful as an architect, but at the moment, really pondering going back to version 4 till more updates/tweaks come out. ### 5/5 — Simple, Yet Powerful *2014-03-19, version 5.0.6* My previous employer spent the big bucks equipping my team with Microsoft Project. But for the past couple years on my own and now with my employer were using SimpleGenius ProjectPro and couldn't be more satisfied. Just as powerful in the key areas, yet it is simpler to use and at a fraction of the cost. I haven't had any issues with the program but whenever I have reached out to the developers for help or suggestions, they have been very responsive too. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Lost Projects, App Dysfunctional, Expensive Catastrophe *2024-05-05, version 5.20* Not functioning and no access to data. ### 1/5 — Was great now there are issues. *2023-03-09, version 5.16* I used this at one time, now I started using it again on my iPad. I updated it, and when I share using email, nothing comes through. Doesn’t seem to be in business anymore. ### 1/5 — Once loved, but not now *2021-07-03, version 5.16* Was a great app and used it on my ipad and Mac. Now it will not accept changes made in my Mac when synching to my ipad. I can only make changed in my ipad and then sych or import to Mac. Now, the iPad app no longer will sync with my desktop. From the looks of it, there has been no update to the app in 11 months!! I have contacted them and was told they were aware of the issue. That was 2 months and there is still no fix!! I just emailed customer service today and hope to get an answer ASAP. This is incredibly frustrating, considering the amount of money paid for this app and software! PLEASE FIX!! I have emailed the developers twice with zero response. I PAID GOOD MONEY FOR AN APP THAT DOES NOT WORK AND A DEVELOPER THAT OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT CARE. WHAT THE SAYING “BUYER BEWARE" ### 1/5 — App crashes *2014-02-04, version 5.0.6* App crashes when setting time of task. ### 2/5 — No upgrade path, full purchase for new versions. *2014-03-19, version 5.0.6* Absolutely brilliant app, however, quite displeased at having to make a full purchase of SG Pro 5 despite having purchased SG Pro in the past, and not something called "SG Pro 4." Don't get me wrong, the app is worth the purchase, but an upgrade path would have been appreciated by your current clients who have supported the company to arrive at SG Pro 5. ### 2/5 — SG 5 and Ipad 2 *2013-11-28, version 5.0.3* This is not a bad review. This is to let you know this program doesn't run well on IPAD 2. They know it doesn't. But the latest version (5.2) is very solid and still the best. Simply outstanding, feature rich and wonderful to use. ### 5/5 — Outstanding PM Tool *2015-10-17, version 5.10* Excellent PM tool, and combined with SG Sketcher and SG One Page (SG Project Toolbox) this is a powerful project design, management and reporting system. I have been doing professional PM for over 30 years, have seen PM and PM software evolve significantly over that time, and have tested and/or used every major system from stand-alone to enterprise (e.g. MSP Server, SAP...and others) systems. SG Project Pro is by-far my favourite. Simple to learn and use, and with an array of features that cover everything that I need and more. I routinely use the SG package to design, manage and report on the projects that I manage...many of them large and complex. I have several PM tools on my IPad...this one is the best. Highly recommended. ### 5/5 — What an app for the PM !! *2015-06-24, version 5.9.1* Can't rate this app highly enough! The more I use it the more I like it. As a professional PM who is forced to be mobile, this app keeps me in control of stuff. Okay such apps all rely on how you organise yourself in general. My own structured approach is to keep track of actions for multiple projects or work packages, then tie them to higher level tasks and schedule as appropriate.. The power of SG Project Pro is its flexibility to do things any way you want as a PM. Its reporting engine is very powerful. Can use RAG on tasks and actions. Nicely keeps track of risks and issues. And I'm sure there's a whole bunch of stuff yet to explore. Of course data backup is crucial. Nice simple sync to Dropbox. And full DB backup as well.
