### 4/5 — Some levels missing stars

*2023-11-23*

I have been thoroughly enjoying this game. Some levels are easy, some are extremely challenging, but I keep playing and getting better and eventually complete all goals and make it to the end. THAT being said, a handful of levels in the Dojo area are missing the glowing star things needed to complete it fully. I’ve scoured every inch of them looking for something I may have missed, but it seems the percentage calculations are just buggy and therefore you can not complete them fully and can not get three stars for every level. It’s really quite frustrating and annoying. I doubt it will be addressed and fixed, so I’m just having to accept leaning it incomplete. It seems others have written reviews stating the same issue, so I know it’s not just me. Anyway, fun and challenging game, just a real shame you can never get the satisfaction of completing all of the levels fully.

### 3/5 — Needs controller support

Great game otherwise

### 4/5 — Please

*2022-10-31, version 1.0*

Backbone support

### 3/5 — A decent time-wasting distraction. But one MAJOR complaint

*2022-09-03, version 1.0*

It's a no-frills platform game that offers a nice challenge with the time limit and coin collecting elements necessary to get three stars on a level.

The game is easy to pick up and the difficulty creep is sensible. With the exception of all of the dojo levels. Which is where my big complaint comes in.

For the most part, all of the dojo levels are very easy and you could three-star most of them on the first try. Well, you could IF basically every dojo level didn't cheat you and say there were coins left to be collected that didn't actually exist. I've been all around every level in the dojo that I got two stars on, and I'm telling you... there no more coins to be found. It's irritating to 100% a game but not actually be given credit for it.

If you're a completionist, avoid this game. If you want a mindless platformer to kill some time and challenge you, this game also isn't for you, unless you do want to 3* almost every level. In that case, just avoid the dojo levels.

### 4/5 — It’s a good game

*2022-07-17, version 1.0*

It’s good and all there’s just a small issue with the game, when I get to dojo level there’s a couple of levels that say I don’t have all the stars but I’ve went thru the whole dojo levels and looked for them but nothing is there. Maybe it’s a game error or something but other than that the game would be 5 stars

### 3/5 — So Close to Being Excellent

*2022-05-23, version 1.0*

Shadow Blade is an entertaining little casual platformer that could have been great if not for bugs and inconsistent difficulty. I had a great time playing through the first five areas, little of the platforming was all that difficult but collecting all of the items and getting it all done in a time limit was challenging with a few levels taking me ten or more tries to pull off. The combat is very unsatisfying on its own but when the climbing walls, dodging traps, jumping between platforms and taking down enemies flowed together perfectly you feel fantastic.

It’s such a shame then that when you get to the final Dojo area and seven or eight of the levels are missing coins or have the percentage found miscalculated so you can’t fully complete them. Compounding on that they also thrown together with some of them easily being completed on your first try it’s a pretty poor climax to the game. Not to mention two of the achievements being buggy and not finishing.

There’s a great casual game in here, I loved that I could pick it up and run through a level in a minute or two but often found myself going back for just one more try on particularly difficult levels. It just needed a little more polish to make the experience a more positive one. It’s a shame Apple doesn’t have higher quality control standards for the games they curate on Apple Arcade.

### 3/5 — Missing orbs in some Dojo levels

*2022-05-19*

Overall I really like this game, and would probably give it four or five stars except for the fact that there are a number of levels in the dojo that you literally can’t get all three stars for. They are missing enough orbs to allow you to get the third star! I’ve even watched other people completing the levels on YouTube to make sure that I didn’t miss some thing and I essentially do exactly what they do and I still can’t get the last star!

### 4/5 — Controller support

*2022-05-19, version 1.0*

Would be nice

### 5/5 — PLAYER MOVEMENT IS AWSOME

*2022-05-16, version 1.0*

What a game , the best samurai game in apple arcade .. thanks

### 5/5 — Great Way to kill Time.

*2022-04-28*

Overall this game is great. Controls are simple and it’s fun to go back and try to get all three stars after you’ve beaten everything. Would love to see more levels though.

### 2/5 — Not as appears.

*2022-04-28*

I was interested in the game because of the bloodiness, but in the game there is no actual blood and gore.

If Apple wants more people playing their games on their store, they should shy away from unnecessary censorship.

Other than that the game has alright mechanics but nothing over the top.

### 3/5 — Please add controller support

*2022-04-21, version 1.0*

Fun but would be great if it better supported controllers

### 1/5 — To hard

*2024-08-20*

It is a good game but it is way to hard for me hoping for easier games in the future

### 1/5 — Shadowblade-

*2023-03-09, version 1.0*

Shadowblade-the blood…why? How stupid

### 1/5 — THIS GAME IS SO HARD!!!!!

*2022-10-29, version 1.0*

DO NOT GET THIS APP!!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Glitches

*2022-03-30, version 1.0*

The dojo levels have a glitch. All but one and the final do not have enough items to get to 100% (or the count gets messed up, I can’t tell which). I saw this in another review so I know it isn’t just me. That’s surprising for a game in the Apple Arcade. Figured these games would be better.

### 1/5 — Needs Backbone Controller Support Pleeeeaaaasssseee

*2022-03-21, version 1.0*

That’s it. Haven’t actually played it yet and I love my Backbone.

### 1/5 — Dive Attack does NOT work on DualShock 4 Controller

*2022-03-20, version 1.0*

Hello

The dive attack option does NOT work on DualShock 4 controller, so I can’t move the character down while playing with DualShock 4 controller.

Please fix this issue asap.

Thank you

### 1/5 — Missing Coins from first level of Dojo

*2022-03-08, version 1.0*

It says it has 54 and yet I searched all the level and only found 52 I’m stuck at 96% of coins I’m that level, I looked up a walkthrough and it had an extra coin. This a bug?

Edit: Also in the dojo chapter, some levels I got all coins, letters, and under the time limit yet I don’t get the 3 Stars for that level.

### 2/5 — The dojo level is impossible

*2022-11-12, version 1.0*

I’ve searched on several levels, multiple times, regardless of time, and I cannot get to 100% of the “stars”. They just don’t exist.

I have beaten level 6 on it twice with all three stars, and it will only ever show 2.

I have fully completed the other 5 level sets, but the dojo is broken. Badly.

### 2/5 — air dash bug in tutorial

*2022-10-16*

there is a bug when using a ps4 controller in the tutorial, i can’t progress past the blue wall because the air dash won’t work. i am on the ipad mini. the game seems really cool but i won’t find out until the bug is fixed

### 2/5 — Shadow warrior

*2022-06-18, version 1.0*

My $100 controller (looks like a ps4 controller for my iPhone XR) works just fine with this game and has before! What is the problem?! Let me know asap and thanks.

### 5/5 — This is simply fantastic!!

*2024-10-20*

I just got switched over to IPhone and purchased Apple Arcade. This was the first game it recommended and it is by far in the Top Five best mobile games that I have played.

It’s fun, fast paced, smooth, and full of challenges. If I were to change anything it would be a little bit of character customization by other than that it is absolutely amazing. Download this game.

### 5/5 — Excellent action game

### 5/5 — Great fast paced game for mobile

*2024-01-14*

This game has very simple controls that work well for mobile while still offering the player complete control over their character. This game is very fast paced and fun, you fluidly switch from platforming, wall jumping and attacking enemies with just a jump and attack button. I highly recommend this game, it's not super long but it's fun while it lasts.

### 5/5 — Would love to have more controller support

*2022-11-20, version 1.0*

Awesome game and as close to Rush’n Attack or Mark of the Ninja as I’m gonna get. It’s really just as fun. Just more controller options for my Backbone or 360 controller and it’d be more fun on combat stuff.
