## What is Shadow Guess Kids?

Shadow Guess Kids is a shadow-matching game for toddlers and preschoolers that has no network functionality at all — it never connects to the internet. Kids look at silhouettes and guess animals, fruits, vehicles and everyday objects — building observation, recognition and early language skills through playful fun.

Why parents trust it
· No network functionality — nothing is sent or received, so there are no accidental charges or unsafe content
· No ads, no pop-ups, no in-app purchases — zero paywalls
· No ad tracking, no data collection — your child's privacy stays on the device
· On-device speech recognition in Chinese & English, no cloud needed

What's inside
· 14 themes: animals, ocean, fruit & veg, transport, music, nature and more
· A large silhouette library with many objects and shape variants
· Two play modes: tap-to-answer and a fun "surprise face" video-voice mode

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.0 — 2026-10-12

Dear grown-ups and little friends:

We're sorry that the last update brought a few small hiccups to your experience, and our little game couldn't keep you company as smoothly as it usually does — that's on us, and we truly want to say we're sorry.

This version, we've polished the whole learning journey again, hoping to make it gentler and more fun:

· Brand-new "Theme Adventures": step into the animal farm, the food shop and the cozy life house — each stage is like a little journey, weaving recognition, listening, sorting, counting, puzzles and patterns into a story your child won't want to put down.

· Puzzles & Patterns: two- and four-piece puzzles, plus AB and AAB rhythm patterns and a getting-dressed sequence — pause halfway and pick up right where you left off next time.

· Six new friends: three hand-drawn storybook scenes where new friends can be placed in the picture, hear their names and their real animal calls; stamps and progress are always kept safe for you.

· Gentler narration: over two thousand English clips were re-recorded at a softer, more child-friendly pace that's easier to read along with; every sound plays offline, so no worries about losing connection on the go.

The animal calls are still real recordings — we want children to hear nature as it really sounds.

As always: no ads, no in-app purchases, no internet needed, no data collected. We'll keep working to make every detail better. Thank you for your patience and for being with us.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-05

Every screen, laid out just right.

• Portrait or landscape: split view on iPad, sideways on iPhone — nothing crowds together, and everything your child needs stays in view.
• All four answers on one screen: no scrolling to see the choices, and every answer has room enough for small hands to tap.
• Choices grow with the difficulty: three for beginners, up to four beyond that — children have to truly recognize the shadow to pick the right one.
• Stories read better: pictures and text re-laid out, pages settle instead of jumping, and play picks up right where the story ends.

One thing worth saying plainly: the animal calls are real recordings, while the narration, stories and voice prompts are generated by on-device speech synthesis. Nothing is ever sent over the network — so on a plane, in the car, or anywhere without signal, children still hear the full narration.

No ads, no in-app purchases, no network access, no data collection. You can hand the phone over with confidence.

### 1.4 — 2026-10-02

Tap once and it answers. Offline, it still reads all night.

• Tap once and it answers: 23 animals now come with real calls — one tap on the speaker and your child hears it. In sound-matching rounds, children can tell who it is by ear alone.
• Three to five choices: each round offers 3–5 options by difficulty, so children have to truly recognize the shape to get it right.
• A nature lesson you can hear: 15 new bird calls join the set — rooster, hen, duck, cuckoo, magpie, owl, swan, peacock and more. Every call comes from a real animal recording.
• The cuckoo and the magpie arrive: calls children hear often outdoors, so what the ear hears and what the eye sees are now the same bird.
• Reaction videos: record the look and the voice at the moment your child guesses right, keep it in the drafts box, and replay it any time.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-12

Hello, little friends! Are you ready? Today, Shadow is taking us to a cozy little world of light and shadow to meet some new friends.

In this episode, we will:
• Meet lots of new friends — fuzzy little animals, red and green fruits, and the everyday things we see at home;
• Hear each friend's name spoken in a gentle, real-human voice, like a tiny secret just for you;
• Follow Shadow on a walk, find the shadows hiding in the light, and guess who they are;
• Play memory match, shadow spot, and a fun ticking-clock challenge;
• Clap together when we get it right, and let off little fireworks when we finish a level.

A quiet word for grown-ups: there are no ads, no pop-up purchases, and we don't collect any information about your child. It works even without the internet, so your little one can play at their own pace. The buttons are big and round — easy for small hands. The whole app is lovingly available in both Chinese and English, so your child can meet two languages from the start.

This episode, we've added a brand-new "Learning Lab," and Shadow remembers to review the friends we've met. Come explore animals, fruits, and the world around us together, in light and shadow!

### 1.2 — 2026-09-03

A brand-new Discovery Playground — three new ways to play
Beyond guessing shadows, kids can drag, compare and listen — three different ways to get to know the same little animal.

Sorting Lab: drag each one home
Sort animals, fruit & veg and everyday things into the right home, or take on "Land, Ocean, Bugs & Birds". No timer — every wrong try still teaches a little more.

Feature Detective: line them up and spot the real one
Lion, tiger and fox, side by side. Panda, koala or bear — whose outline is roundest? Read the clue, then pick the right one.

Sound Detective: close your eyes and listen
Cat, dog, pig, cow, horse, sheep, camel, penguin — hear a real recording, then find who made it.

A real, gentle voice now does the talking
Every line is now spoken by a warm human voice with a storytime feel, so little ones happily say the words along with it — in Chinese or English.

A fresh sticker-book look
Launch screen, home screen and cards have all been redrawn in a toy-box-meets-sticker-book style. Opening the app feels like lifting the cover of a picture book.

Just right on every screen
From iPhone SE to iPad Pro, portrait or landscape, everything fits — bigger buttons, bigger type, easy for small hands to tap.
