I loved it so much that I was excited when it started expanding to more locations. I’ve since used it when I went solo to Saguaro National Park and now again with my family in Rocky Mountain National Park. It truly never disappoints! The recommendations are always spot on, it’s SO easy to use, and the stories they tell along the way are always so interesting! I’ve already recommended this to anyone I know traveling and will continue to use it for my next adventures! Followed the directions tons to begin at one of the 7 entry points closest to us as we were in Michigan City. At first look there are multiple coloured circles and numerous number ones. But we followed the map to Mt Baldy but after getting back in the car the tour kept trying to send us back to Michigan City We were never able to get the tour to work easily. The so is confusing to look at and impossible to follow if you are trying to look and drive. The program is too cumbersome and tries to do too many start points. We used the Shaka Guide on two different iPhone 16 Max Pros paired with a USB cable to a late model Nissan Pathfinder. On two subsequent days. We experiences continuous issues with audio switching from the car audio system to the iPhone when changing from story telling to lovely local music. We also gps issues location, despite having the phone on the dash in full view of satellites, requiring us to back track, pull over, restart the guide and use Apple Maps to get us back on track to the point that after realizing we had missed a long section of several (10+) narration spots along a section of the route. Finally, to save our sanity and marriage we gave up on the Shaka guide and came back to Honolulu and enjoyed the Bishop Museum. I attempted to contact in-app support, but was left hanging for a long time after two obvious bot responses apparently wanting to confirm I was a paying customer rather help me resolve the repeated issues we were having. When it was working it’s an amazing 4+ star guide. The stories were great. The local music filled the dead space. Unfortunately, I can NOT recommend this app to anyone looking for an stress-free, leisurely, guided tour. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2026-07-07, version 9.1.7* Cut out throughout the drive up. And every time it occurred we missed multiple stops. Not to mention having to look down at your device so much to try to correct it makes you nauseated.
