## What is ShalloWeDive?

Track your depth at a glance — right on your wrist, right underwater.

ShalloWeDive is a real-time depth tracker built for shallow water — down to about 6 meters — using the Apple Watch depth sensor, with an iPhone companion for your dive logbook and dry-land breath-hold training. Snorkeling, freediving, spearfishing, or a mermaid set: see your depth, water temperature, heart rate, and dive time the moment you go under. No phone signal, no internet, no subscription — just your wrist and the water.

Color-coded safety zones change as you descend — safe (teal), caution (yellow), danger (orange) — so you always know where you are without looking away from the water.

New: How Far You Actually Swam
Dynamic apnea is scored in distance, yet no dive computer measures it. Now your wrist does: the wall turns of a pool swim are counted from the watch's motion, and the rest screen shows the swim's distance — turns times the pool length plus the last partial length — marked "~" as the estimate it is. Correct it on your phone; the original stays beside your correction.

The Clocks a Dive Computer Has — On Your Wrist, and Your Buddy's
Static, dynamic, tables, interval, stopwatch and surface interval, all on the watch, all staying lit through Water Lock and wrist-down:
- Static: taps before, at and after your target; the hold starts when your wrist goes under and ends on the Action button — or when your wrist comes out
- Dynamic: the swim ends when you surface and the rest counts from that instant — shrinking-rest CO₂ sets or fixed-interval departures
- Your phone's tables, run in the water: each hold a target, each rest from the moment you came up
- As breath-holder or buddy: one program, timed by the water on one wrist and by a tap on the other; the phone shows both records side by side
Breath-hold in water is done only with a trained buddy watching, never alone.

Train Your Breath-Hold — On Dry Land
The iPhone companion also coaches classic apnea tables, no watch required:
- CO₂ table, O₂ table, or a single static hold — or build a table of your own
- Every round runs a recovery first, then the hold, so you always start rested
- Voice announcements pace each phase, even with the phone locked
- Every session is recorded, round by round

Dive Under Your Own Discipline
Choose your discipline before the session and the watch applies its timing: Freedive — one deliberate descent per surfacing, with a surface rest timer between dives; Mermaid — a rehearsal set of short, shallow immersions inside a fixed window, with targets for depth, bottom time, and dive count.

On Your Watch
- Real-time depth and water temperature from the built-in depth sensor
- Heart rate monitoring during every dive
- Multi-dive session tracking with automatic dive counting
- Descent and ascent times for every dive within the sensor's range
- A dive logbook on your watch, saved between sessions

The iPhone Companion
Review your whole logbook on a bigger screen:
- Dives group into outings, with search by site, buddy, tag, or note
- Add the dive site, buddy, gear, notes, and a personal rating
- Dives sync from your watch automatically — or all at once, on demand

Your watch and iPhone connect directly, on-device — no account, no server, and your logbook never leaves your devices.

Beyond the Measurement Range
The depth sensor is built for about 6 meters. Past that, "No Limit" mode silences the depth alerts and shows a calm "beyond range" readout — and the logbook records the dive honestly as "6 m+", with no invented maximum or split.

Private by Design
All data stays on your devices. No account. No server. No tracking. No ads.

Diving requires an Apple Watch with a depth sensor (Ultra, Ultra 2, Series 10, or later); breath-hold training runs on any iPhone. The two sync directly, no internet needed.

ShalloWeDive is a reference tool. It does not replace certified equipment, proper training, or safe diving practices. Always dive within your personal limits.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.0 — 2026-09-06

- How far you actually swam: a dynamic set's rest screen now shows the swim's measured distance beside its time — the wall turns your wrist felt, times the pool length, plus the last partial length — marked "~" because it is an estimate. Your phone keeps the number with the round and lets you correct it; the original estimate stays beside your correction. Pool lengths now go down to 10 m.
- Honest past the sensor: a dive that went beyond the depth sensor's 6 m range is logged as "6 m+", on the watch and on your phone — no invented maximum, and no descent/ascent split made up from a saturated reading. Earlier dives that reached the limit read the same way.
- Smaller things: the speed readout is a plain m/min figure with no color verdict, and "--" beyond range; the logbook offers "Sync all to phone" only while your phone is in range and reports sent or failed from the transfer itself; outing dates and times follow your region; the target dial's No Limit row keeps its height.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-09-01

- The clocks a dive computer has, on your wrist: static holds with taps before, at and after the target; dynamic sets whose rest counts from the moment you surface; your phone's tables run in the water; an interval clock, a one-press stopwatch and a surface interval — all staying lit through Water Lock.
- The water itself keeps the time: your hold starts when your wrist goes under, your swim ends when you surface — and each program's WATER switches choose what the water starts and ends. The moment your wrist left the water is recorded, round by round.
- Wear it as the breath-holder or as the buddy — the same program, timed by the water on one wrist and by the Action button on the other. The phone shows both records side by side.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-07

- Breath-hold training arrives on your iPhone: run a CO₂ table, an O₂ table, or a static hold — or build your own, round by round.
- Voice announcements pace each phase. Add your own announcement points, reorder them, and keep listening with the phone locked.
- Logbook: dives now group into outings, with search by site, buddy, tag, or note — and smooth paging through years of dives.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-19

- Mermaid mode: set a rehearsal plan — number of dives, bottom time, and set length — and get a strong buzz with an on-screen cue each time you reach a target.
- Choose your alert style: pick Rapid or Deep haptics in Settings, applied to every underwater alert.
- Water temperature now shows to a tenth of a degree.
- Faster start: tap START and your dive begins right away.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-07

- New iPhone companion app — review your dive logbook on a bigger screen and add the site, buddy, gear, notes, and a rating.
- Your dive logbook is now saved on the watch between sessions.
- New "No Limit" mode — silence depth alerts for an intentional dive past 6 m.
