Saw the reward system and asked the cashier to sign me up after I generously left a tip. I drive way across town to eat at Shane’s Rib Shack at Poyner Place. The food is always great! The restaurant is always neat and clean. They have fabulous specials that I frequently take advantage of and I send my friends to this location also. The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. I have been coming here for many years and should have written a glowing review a long time ago!! Be sure to stop by and try their ribs, plates, smoked wings and hamburgers! You’ll be glad you did!! Things have really changed in the last year. Today’s visit sadly was way below the quality of food we are used to. The first ribs were way over cooked and the second ribs were only slightly better but tasted old to say nothing about the half bottle of sauce that was dumped all over the food. I could only eat about ten fries without sauce. The coleslaw was better before the change. The fries were cold and overcooked. The half chicken dinner wasn’t fresh and baked beans were very dry. They said I would need to call a couple days ahead of time. Our chapter of PTK recently did a percentage night with the Athens location and we were so very pleased with the communication and cooperation that Mr. Peters and his employees provided our organization and our school as a whole. Staff and students are excited to have a local restaurant who cares about them and wants to support Athens Technical college. so thank you Mr. Peters and you team for everything!
