Heart rate monitoring is inaccurate compared to other apps/monitors. A typical hour workout has been 600-800 calories for the years, for me. This app calculates calorie burn to be 200-300 per hour. Should be easy to fix and needs to be noticed in the next app update. ### 1/5 — Worthless software. *2019-08-09* Buggy wont work settings require metric.finally found imperial setting. The back buttons on each page don’t work. I have to shutdown my iPhone and start over. The pairing connection keeps pairing it self. Cannot get it paired to my Polar heart monitor. I’m gonna regret buying this chest strap I bet..... ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App has stopped working without reinstallation *2025-05-31* Update 5/30/2025: I saw that the version was updated again, so I tried it, and it still brings up the logo and then dies straight out to the iPhone home screen. Why is there no way to give zero stars? Update 5/28/2025: install the new version. It couldn’t find my old login, so I created a new login. I was able to run the app just long enough to update the clock on my raptor Pro. And then it died. I tried to start the app again and it simply canceled out back to the iPhone main screen. Whatever Shanren think was fixed, they are wrong. The problem is that the app is really the easiest way to control the computer, especially when it comes to resetting the clock. So having to uninstall and reinstall the app every single time I want to use it is not at all convenient. ===================== Once upon a time, I was very happy with my raptor Pro and the interface with my iOS version of their controlling app. I started having problems a couple of updates ago, and at this point the program works at most once, then attempting to open it up simply shut down again and I have to delete the app and reinstall it to get anything working. This is a great improvement. ### 5/5 — Very good *2021-08-01, version 2.2.18* The app used to crash once or twice per week, VERY annoying. Last few months it has been rock solid. No more lost data. It is very good at what it does. Thank you, Shanren! 18 months later, still rock solid. ### 5/5 — HRM Only *2019-10-25* I only have the heart rate monitor not any of their other devices. At first there were many bugs. Customer Service through Facebook Messenger was very responsive and listened to my problems. They are still developing the product. Once all my problems were fixed, they refunded my purchase since I had helped them. What are great group of people, they listen! ### 5/5 — Pro quality at consumer prices *2019-08-11* Capable and reliable bike computer. I’m using the full Shanren sensor suite with heart rate, cadence and mph. Sensors linked up to the computer easily and record flawlessly. Half the price of major brand names. Long lasting battery means days of riding without having to charge. Built in headlight is very convenient and well designed. Beam covers roadway ahead without blinding oncoming traffic. Di-Pro app provides a handsome view and analysis of the data. Super easy instantaneous upload to Strava. App controls all computer settings. After setup, operation is a simple as pressing the ‘Set’ button to begin recording a workout and pressing ‘Set’ again to end. ### 4/5 — Good apps, but needs improvement *2024-11-14* It’s a good apps, but definitely needs some improvements. Somehow after you upload to Strava, apps is stuck on uploading.. you need to close app to upload another one.. Can also pair to Nike Run Club, but not at the same time. ### 4/5 — Update on my previous review *2020-01-16* I’m amending my review in the only way that the apple App Store seems to allow. The company was responsive to my feedback and pushed out an app update that fixed the previous problem. I only ended up losing one workout sessions worth of data, which while a bummer is at least tolerable since the company seems pretty intent on making things work. I’m only keeping it from being a 5 star product because the app still seems to lack some polish overall. ### 4/5 — Great Product *2019-10-01* I’ve had the Beat 20 for about a week and I love it, haven’t discovered all the features but it was easy to sync to my Apple Watch and seems flawless when running and hiking I’ll probably add that 5th star when I’ve used it more ### 3/5 — Waypoints *2020-05-18* Waypoints should really be introduced in the navigation feature.
