### 2/5 — READ THIS

*2026-09-05, version 26.160*

I’m sorry these people are lying. This app is so hard to use and half the stuff they teach you isn’t even on the screen to use

### 4/5 — Crashing

*2026-08-31, version 26.160*

Amazing app but it crashes whenever I scale something.

### 2/5 — Time-limited demo, then subscription

*2026-08-26, version 26.151*

The interface seems really nice, but I refuse to use subscription-based software. Make it free or set a fixed one-time-only price.

### 3/5 — Still no way to place text with a curve or the perimeter of a circle

*2026-08-19, version 26.150*

All of the competition can complete text on the curve or in a circle such as a coin or other flat-round object. The application has been out way too long for not able to be able to perform this function.

### 4/5 — Update on being bummed

*2026-08-16, version 26.143*

The app is just a struggle bus to get started with, and while the developers built out tutorials for the app. I just find them useless, I literally follow the tutorial step for step, and without fail it doesn’t work. Super bummed as I thought this would be perfect for woodworking projects but the learning curve is too steep or something else is wrong but so far the experience is frustrating and feels like more work than just drawing and redrawing the items as needed.

UPDATE: So I stuck with it and eventually got over the hump. For most start small, even smaller than the demo and start on the intro YouT series. But I will say it still infuriates me there’s just not a bit more simple functionality to start, but it is CAD. Could be an iPad Air issue with the new M4 or just me, but it still struggles to move through the process smoothly and without issue.

### 4/5 — Why can’t I use my fingers

*2026-07-30, version 26.121*

Nice app just I can’t use my fingers

### 3/5 — It don’t work

*2026-07-25, version 26.121*

I don’t have Apple Pencil. Please fix.

### 1/5 — Bait and switch

*2026-07-10, version 26.120*

Makes it look like it’s free but it’s really almost $300/yr

### 1/5 — Greedy

*2026-07-09, version 26.120*

If I could do zero stars, I WOULD. Really fun, but why do you have to have a subscription? Why can’t you just make it free. It’s EXTREMELY expensive. 20 to 30 a MONTH!?! That is VERY greedy.

### 5/5 — La mejor aplicación Universitaria

*2026-07-09, version 26.120*

Shapr3D, es sin duda la mejor aplicación para poder utilizar como herramienta de enseñanza y profesional a estudiantes que se están formando constantemente en este mundo tecnológico que avanza día a día.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nope!

*2026-09-07, version 26.160*

Can't work on ipad

### 1/5 — So close

*2026-09-07, version 26.160*

I was originally astonished by how intuitive and easy it is to learn this software. I changed my 5 star to a 1 star when I realised they don’t have copy and paste as a feature. Ctrl C Ctrl V is primordial. It exists in every piece of design software, it’s maddening. In Shapr 3D you can copy drawings within the same sketch (as a drag and copy, weird but fine) but if you want to copy a drawing onto a different face/sketch, it’s not possible. In any other CAD program it’s as simple as select > Copy > Change face > Paste, but to achieve this effect in Shapr3D you need to do an insane work around or redraw the entire sketch, which I can’t emphasis enough, is clinically insane

### 1/5 — A drafting toy trying to be a tool

*2026-09-02, version 26.160*

I come back to this app every once in a while, trying to like it, but it is the most frustrating CAD software I have ever used in my life. Somehow the Onshape iPad app works better than this one which is a shame because the interface in Shaper is actually pretty nice when it’s good. Unfortunately, it is bad, very bad the majority of the time.

Back when this app originally came out and it was dirt cheap, I could imagine potentially paying for it just to give it some more time and maybe it could grow on me. But there is absolutely no way I could pay this ridiculous premium for an app this frustrating to use.

### 1/5 — everything is paid

*2026-08-30, version 26.151*

horrible!!

### 1/5 — Does not let me use my fingers to model

*2026-08-28, version 26.151*

I don’t like to use the app because it doesn’t allow me to use my own fingers.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-08-22, version 26.150*

Anyone looking to use the free tier of this app should know that the output files are extremely low quality unless you pay. At the very least, STL files should be usable for the occasional user - they are not. Skip this program unless you’re prepared to pay their $300 annual subscription.

### 1/5 — Touch support

*2026-08-04, version 26.140*

For some reason you cannot use this app with just a touch screen and need an apple pencil or a keyboard and mouse/trackpad

### 1/5 — Intuitive app but prohibitive pricing

*2026-07-25, version 26.121*

I am just starting to learn 3d modelling after using a 3d printer for a bit and I stumbled upon this app.

After going through a couple of tutorial videos I thought it was great and spent some time trying to learn making a few functional prints for my home.

Then I learnt that on free tier the exports are unusable quality and that if you want to use pro you need to fork out $500 aud a year, which makes no sense unless you’re a professional and making money off your designs, at which point you’d probably be looking at the more traditional cad softwares.

It’s a real shame that they don’t have a casual/hobby tiered subscription which I would (along with many others) be happy to pay.

It’s not fair on the devs for me to give a 1 star review because the app seems great, but the community has been very vocal about wanting a hobbyist tier for the non professionals; so the 1 star is for not listening to your community.

Thank you for reading my review as I don’t normally go out of my way to write one, I hope the devs listen to the community and one day release a hobbyist tier and I would gladly come back and change my review.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-07-17, version 26.120*

Nothing like dropping over $200 on a app so unpolished I could’ve made in Claude in less than a week and it would actually work how a 3d modeler should. Absolutely baffling to me how the tools work when they want to, if at all. Or when they do they don’t come close to what you draw and give a million guide rails for. There’s plenty of other great apps that are LEAGUES above this one. Do not waste your time or money.

### 1/5 — Locked behind a login

*2026-07-10, version 26.120*

Require my personal data to even test your software to see if it will do what I want, I shouldn’t have to do that just to see if it will do what I need. Then force me to go through 10 minutes of tutorials. You should hire a consultant, nobody wants to deal with that. Don’t lock everything behind the stupid steps you think will help. Clearly out of touch with the end user.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Intuitive once you know the basics

*2026-09-09, version 26.160*

Excellent program. Though i wish you could just buy it outright. Subscriptions are dumb

### 5/5 — Great software, far too expensive

*2026-09-06, version 26.160*

I’m loving the simplicity of it for 3D design, but it’s far too expensive for a hobbyist. I know there is a free version but its quality output is limited. I don’t mind paying for software, but this price just screams greed to me.

### 5/5 — 3d prints

*2026-09-04, version 26.160*

This app has helped me so much with understanding cad and 3d design.

### 5/5 — Nothing beats working on the go for me

*2026-08-30, version 26.151*

Being able to work when ever and where ever has put my productivity light years ahead. I spent years glued to one spot and will never work like that again. I can’t speak for anyone else but Shapr3d meets all my needs. 5 stars all day 🔥🔥🔥💯

### 5/5 — Chat I got it for freeeeeeee

*2026-08-20, version 26.150*

Hahahahahahahhahahah

### 5/5 — Excellent, but have a suggestion

*2026-08-13, version 26.143*

I love every feature and seamless detail the devs added, but consider adding a sculpting section for more mesh details. This would speed up character modeling by starting with your base geometry features and sculpting the modifications from there.

### 5/5 — Very good especially for beginners

*2026-08-05, version 26.140*

This website is really good even for people like me, a beginner at these softwares. It explains everything we need to know about it and its software is nice and simple

### 5/5 — Absolute perfection

*2026-07-28, version 26.121*

This app is amazing and fairly easy to learn, I use it for designing models for 3d printing so the new prusa integration is really nice. I also like how I can use a mouse and keyboard or Apple Pencil, also has a ton of features for an iPad app

### 5/5 — Perfect for average person design and 3D printing

*2026-07-22, version 26.121*

I was newer to 3D printing and I picked this software up to expand parts I could not find online. I have found I am using it for so many uses.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2026-07-12, version 26.120*
