This tracking system was easy to learn. All of our field guys have the app on their phones and even they guys that are not tech savvy use it with no issues. I love the audit feature that allows me to send audits to any of our field guys to confirm they still have the tools/equipment assigned to them. Some of the reporting is a little difficult to maneuver at times but over all a great tool. I wish there was a place to log repairs and repair costs for tools so you can see when it is a time to retire a tool. This is the solution to accountability, saving hours searching for lost tools, the ability to have access to owners manual, manufactures websites, etc. This app/service is saving us a ton of time. Would be even better if you could copy listings and change the SN for similar tools, would recommend this if you have lots of employees and tools being loaned around. ### 5/5 — Customer since 2016 *2022-01-24, version 2.4.4* We signed up with these guys many years ago as they seemed to be the best bang for the buck. We explored the big companies programs and settled on the “little guy.” There have been no regrets. They listen to your requests, they work hard to keep great features in front of you, and the system overall works really well. We are a mechanical contractor with about 100 employees and we have over 2,000 tools in the system. Like any program, the more we put into it, the more we get out of it and this is one that we have invested the time to familiarize ourselves with. While it’s very user-friendly, there are tons of features that can fall by the wayside and I know that we are not using everything that we could. In spite of our own ineptitude, this program is critical to our operation. We have a pretty good understanding of where everything is, we track repair history and scheduled maintenance needs, and we also track purchase history and cost for various uses. I have been very pleased with SMTB and have a great appreciation with how easy it is to receive help from these guys. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App is nothing but a big bug *2025-09-26, version 2.11.8* This app is nothing but a big bug. I spent a bunch of time cataloging my tools and now I can’t even use the app. It fails to do absolute any thing and just keeps popping up with an error code. Can’t even see the list or anything. Just opens up to the home screen and that’s all it can do. Very frustrating ### 1/5 — Garbage *2025-06-30, version 2.11.3* It wont even send the registration email to get started. Checked all junk/spam folder as well and still nothing. This app doesn't seem to even recognize the existence of Apple's password management system, let alone integrate it (meaning that if you want to use a secure password, you have to do a search, find the passwords app, open it and create and/or copy your password, then explicitly go back to the app and paste your password in, all instead of simply tapping a banner above your keyboard to auto fill your password); every action you take is followed by a pause while a wheel spins around as the app thinks about what you've told it to do for a second before it does it, it took me about five minutes to figure out how to lend out a tool (it's complicated), and when I'd seen enough and wanted to delete my account, the app threw an error. Thanks but no thanks. 🙏🏻 ### 2/5 — Useless to me, no support for location of tools *2021-12-31, version 2.4.4* I need an app to inventory my hundreds of miscellaneous tool. I might not use a tool for several years. By then I’ve forgotten where it is or whether I’ve loaned it.
