## What is SharkTTY?

SharkTTY keeps your servers and your desktop within reach — a fast, native SSH & Mosh terminal and a full remote desktop for your Mac computer, in one app. All of it free. And now it listens — hold to talk, and AI turns your words into commands.

CONTROL YOUR DESKTOP FROM ANYWHERE
Sign in on your iPhone or iPad device and your desktop is right there. Tap to see its screen and take over — on the same Wi-Fi or from the other side of the world. SharkTTY finds the best way to connect, so you don't have to think about it.
• A smooth, low-lag screen with full keyboard and mouse
• See every display at once — side by side, stacked, quad or picture-in-picture, arranged your way
• A virtual mouse with a built-in magnifier for pixel-perfect taps
• A floating on-screen keyboard you can move, resize and dim — full symbols, ⌘⌥⌃ modifiers, F-keys, six layouts (US, UK, JIS, AZERTY, QWERTZ, Spanish) and smart command suggestions
• Hear your Mac computer's sound live, and turn your device into its microphone
• Copy on one device, paste on the other
• Pick xHD, HD or SD — and let it ease off on its own when the signal drops
• End-to-end encrypted, so your screen stays yours

A TERMINAL THAT KEEPS UP
• Connect to any server over SSH — there's nothing to install on the other end
• Mosh keeps you typing through dropped Wi-Fi, network switches and lag
• Lock your device or jump to another app, come back, and your session is still there
• Drop straight back into your tmux session with a saved startup command
• Experimental Eternal Terminal (ET) support — persistent sessions over TCP, for networks where Mosh's UDP is blocked
• A bell in a background tab becomes a notification — know the moment a long task finishes

SPEAK, AND IT TYPES
• Hold to talk — your words are recognized right on the device: free, private, works offline
• Trim a segment, re-recognize it, or bring back past recordings from history
• AI polishes what you said into clean text or a ready-to-run command — bring your own AI provider, or use the built-in official models
• Ask the AI anything in the built-in chat panel, without leaving your session

KEYS, FILES, AND PEACE OF MIND
• Create or import SSH keys right on your device — private keys never leave it
• Get a clear heads-up the moment a server's identity changes
• Browse and move files over iCloud Drive, shared folders and WebDAV, without leaving the app
• Developer fonts and themes, a handy shortcut-key row, and full external keyboard and trackpad support on iPad
• Keep your hosts and keys in sync across your devices with iCloud, if you like

You never need an account to reach your own servers.

SharkTTY — your servers and your desktop, always in your pocket.

Every feature is free, including on-device voice recognition. The built-in official AI service uses AI Points; with your own API key, everything stays free. And if you'd like to leave a tip and buy me a coffee — thank you so much! Tips (one-time or monthly) unlock nothing; the monthly tip auto-renews until cancelled in your Apple Account settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9 — 2026-07-29

Sharing got friendlier, and touch got a full rework — in the terminal and on the remote desktop.

• A friendlier way to share: one tap on your link and they're in — friends without the app see a simple guide page instead
• Scroll up to read without the terminal yanking you back down when new output arrives — and scrolling finally works inside tmux, vim, and pagers
• Tap to drop the command-line cursor right where you touch; text selection holds steady while output keeps streaming
• Direct touch on the remote desktop, reworked: one finger glides the pointer without clicking, a second finger clicks — and touch follows you when you switch displays
• Fixed a rare freeze during remote desktop sessions; long terminal sessions with heavy output are faster and use far less memory

### 1.8.1 — 2026-07-11

The virtual mouse just got a lot more comfortable.

• Dock the mouse buttons: they become one panel along the bottom of the screen, sliding left or right to wherever your hand rests — and it rides up on top of the keyboard whenever one is open
• With the buttons docked, the magnifier sits right above your fingertip; it no longer bounces around near screen edges, and the magnified view lines up exactly with the cursor
• Sliding a finger off the screen edge no longer makes the cursor jump or leaves a button stuck down
• Fixed ⌘ ⌥ ⌃ modifiers sometimes staying pressed and turning the next key into a surprise shortcut

### 1.8 — 2026-07-11

Your terminal can hear you now — hold to talk, release to type.

• New voice input: hold to speak, recognized right on your device — free, private, works offline; trim segments, re-recognize, browse history
• AI turns your words into ready-to-run commands and answers your questions — bring your own AI provider or use the built-in official models, with an AI chat panel one tap away
• Floating keyboard, upgraded: six layouts (US, UK, JIS, AZERTY, QWERTZ, Spanish), smart command suggestions, and a mic key — hold it to talk
• New experimental Eternal Terminal (ET) connections — sessions that survive network switches and sleep, even where Mosh's UDP is blocked
• Terminal bells become notifications, so you know the moment a long task finishes; remote desktop sound uses less data, and disconnecting keeps the tab for one-tap reconnect

### 1.7 — 2026-07-01

Take control of your Mac computer from your pocket — the remote desktop just got a lot more powerful.

• See every screen at once — side by side, stacked, quad or picture-in-picture, reordered your way
• A virtual mouse with a built-in magnifier for pixel-perfect taps
• A floating on-screen keyboard you can move, resize and dim — full symbols, ⌘⌥⌃ modifiers and F-keys; or switch to the system keyboard + shortcut bar
• Hear your Mac computer's sound live, and turn your device into its microphone
• Choose xHD, HD or SD, easing off on its own when the signal drops
• Two-finger tap to right-click; pinch and drag to frame the picture

Every feature is free — the only in-app purchases are optional tips.

### 1.6 — 2026-06-27

See your whole Mac at once.

Got more than one display? Now you can watch them all side by side on your iPhone or iPad — and tap or drag any screen to take control of it. One display or every display, it's a tap away.

• View all screens, control any of them by touch
• Steadier connections that reconnect faster after a hiccup
• Edit a saved desktop and grab its share link without leaving the session

Every feature is free — the only in-app purchases are optional tips to buy the developer a coffee.
