Note that you have to connect two different times on Bluetooth to activate the sound which is controlled by your phone. I’ve tried to “forget the device” in my bluetooth settings, and even just delete the app and reinstall it, his machine will not connect to the app, but connects to my phone just fine and acts as a usual speaker.
