## What is Shearing?

The Original and the best! FREE to download, the Shearing app includes LOJIK Shearer Training as an in app purchase allowing access to the worlds pre eminent Shearer Trainer and multiple world record holder Dwayne Black, and stand alone training and information entity SHEAR POWER Pty Ltd.

Once the app is downloaded and logged into, the LOJIK section of the Shearing app is accessed via the LOJIK tab on the left hand side of the home screen. 

The LOJIK section of the app has 4 main menu options being Shearing, Gear, Bodycare and Extras. Each of these menu options includes a sub-category menu allowing simple, easy access to the best video based tutorials about how to shear sheep, shearing gear preparation and maintenance, body care tips and tricks, industry profiles and more. Having all of these resources in the one place allows you to source and learn at your own place everything you need to know about shearing, wool handling and much much more. 

PLUS: The Shearing app includes a Tally & Wool Book for FREE! To access this simply select the Tally & Wool Book tab on the right hand side of the home screen. 

This section allows you to enter, store, automatically calculate and display all relevant data associated with sheep shearing on an on going and daily basis until the job is done, and saved for future reference. 

Property, sheep, shearer, wool handler, shed staff employment details, sheep numbers and hours worked are all able to be entered in the Tally Book as well as all details of the bales of wool being produced, just as you would in a Wool Book. 

You can enter as much or as little detail required to record and calculate all relevant shearing data just like you would in the shed, and you can even automatically generate a comprehensive payslip report for yourself or each member of a shearing team. 

There is a reporting section, the ability to generate personal shearing statistics as well as a diary and daily planner and the ability to capture and store photos and footage for social or employment purposes. 

Last but not least the Shearing app includes an Information section providing you with updated rates of pay and safety information that is accessible within all sections of the app. 

The shearing app provides a singular destination to not only learn how to shear but also record and display all relevant shearing information. Whether for a shearing team, or for personal use, the shearing app is quick, simple and easy to use.

I have found the App to be very smooth in operation and easy to navigate between screens. The look and feel is old school, warm and homely  but yet performs as new technology should. I love the fact that literally seconds after the last Tally's are entered a payslip can be generated.

An app for tallies etc is good for the industry.  However this one needs to be more user friendly and a lot simpler to use as there is a lot to do before you can even get into your tallies/runs/bales etc.  When you do you have to manually input the rates which some are supplied on another page, instead of being able to choose from a drop down menu and clicking it to automatically input.  If you actually input info into the property page with pay rate and allowances it won't let you save until you input tax rate and if you don't know the tax rate then you have to go back and delete the pay rate and allowances info in order for you to save and move on.

The industry has too many pay rates, scales and descriptions for every day users to manually input.  Too time consuming.  It's alright if you're sitting at home with time on your hands to go through the selection of rates and the perseverance to input separately if indeed you even now what the rates/percentages are.  The thing is if you don't input the right rates and deductions your pay slip page is going to be completely wrong which could end up with a slanging match with the boss.

Next issue is with allowances, deductions, superannuation and tax.  A person would have to know all of these in percentage and dollar values to be able to input into the program because once again it has to be manually inputted every time.  It's alright if you're an accountant or are familiar with the rates.  Not an easy app to use when the user has to do it over and over again for every shed, every pay rate etc,  Not to mention that you have to switch back and forward between pages every time you want to input something different very easy to get lost and ultimately ending up frustrated.

It would be better if you made it simpler to use for your target customers of which I assume are the industry workers themselves.  Two apps would have been better rather than making this app busy with things that most industry workers won't use.  Basic and simple with progressive inclusions would have been more appealing

The price for this app is attractive enough for the amount of work that the programmer has put into it and also because it's too hard to use it's not too much of a loss for the pocket but in saying that this app has a very limited user industry

For a first platform it's not bad just way way too much stuff to slog through for ease of use

Great to see this technology finally getting into our industry.
The stationary system we use is old and outdated and I was very pleased trying out this app for my on farm shearing this summer.
It functions well and I like my ipad version a bit more as it's easier for me to see and hit the right buttons. Important to add as much relevant data as possible initially before diving too deep into the app as this will make it very simple to use. All in all a great modern way to do the record keeping at shearing time.
