It is a scoring app to keep track of the game, and it's great at that. No better scoring app out there for sheepshead. Has all the features of any score I've ever played with. I press the new game button and it asks if I am sure. I press yes nothing happens. I press no nothing happens. There is no deal or new deal button. I have read the instructions twice, the second time slowly and they are of no use. It will do nothing except give me tons of options but no cards. I thought this was a card game??? If there is some truck to it I would line to know but as it sits this app is beyond useless!!!! ### 4/5 — Solid scoring app *2019-04-19* Thanks for making this! Its been useful. I like the ability to have a rotating seat to sit out for when you’ve got 6-7 people. A couple new feature ideas: 1. Have a screen that shows all the trump cards as a reference for newer players. 2. Indicator for the called suit. Sometimes our games move slowly with interruptions and someone always forgets this. 3. Allow inserting a player in a particular position after the game has started. We had someone show up late and had to enter him in the last seat but it was not the position that he was sitting in. So I had to manually change the dealer token around. This works fine but is easy to mess up after a few 🍺 and a little 🌳. **Developer response:** Thanks for the recommendations, and I finally got around to adding the feature to move the position of players in version 3.1.0. So how you can move players to empty positions on the score board to insert a new player into the proper order on the screen. I will have to think about where to put a called suit indicator for next release. ### 4/5 — Handy & Flexible *2018-06-20, version 2.1.0* Ver2.10 This may be the only scoring app left in the app store, but it’s the only one you’ll need. It works great!! Virtually every conceivable scoring option is covered, and the stats provided are an added bonus. It tracks who’s sitting out each hand on crowed tables... and you can manually sit players out for an extended time, and then bring them back in whenever you want. The only feature I would suggest is for the app is to get out of the way of streaming audio from background apps (in my case, Apple Music). For now, I simply put the scorer app in the background when not actually scoring a hand... but it still interrupts streaming audio while scoring a hand. ### 4/5 — Cash option? *2012-03-22* I am all about simplicity, that being said it would be nice to have an end game screen that converts points into cents. I’ve figured out a workaround for how to score when players come into the game late and then sit somewhere other than after the last player, but it would be great if you could add the ability to add a player and choose the position. (Right now I just either start a new game and use the player history feature or ask the new player to sit next to the person that was my last entry.) **Developer response:** Thanks for the recommendation, and finally got around to adding the feature to move the position of players in version 3.1.0. Let’s get this thing update so I can continue to love this app and use it for decades of more sheepshead. Otherwise amazing. **Developer response:** The iOS 11 compatible version is available now. And there are some new features! Playing sheepshead without a scoring app like is like playing cribbage without a cribbage board. You can still keep score, but it becomes a long, painful process. Exciting, perhaps, for flexing your mental arithematic skills, but only slowing down the game while everyone waits for you to finish computing the standings. A sheepshead game app would be fun to, but I would actually take the scoring app first, again, because now you can spend more time playing and less time waiting for the scorekeeper. Neal's app has the beauty of being a 'thin' but transparent tool which nonetheless does the job it needs to do. It is simple and straightforward to use. I believe we will see additional features down the road. Who knows, maybe the exposure on iTunes will help continue to spread the popularity of the game.
