### 3/5 — Good but omg stop asking for $$

*2026-08-04, version 6.16*

I just got this and it works great minus the fact that im just trying to practice and every 3 seconds it asks me to do a subscription but like bro i dont have $ im a kid and it takes like 12 steps just to get off if that screen and continue practicing.

### 2/5 — Sharps and flats

*2026-07-14, version 6.15*

This app never scans sharps or flaps!

### 3/5 — Review

*2026-07-05, version 6.15*

Although this app was very helpful in identifying rhythms, I have found it lacking in many places-such as the fact that it cannot detect flats, sharps, slurring, and even appoggiaturas. Could the designers please improve these areas for a better experience for everyone.

### 3/5 — Works well for the most part

*2026-07-04, version 6.15*

Takes a little time to learn how to get the most accurate scans. The app decodes some sheet music and ignores complete lines of notes. Now the in app purchases has increased to 9 different payment options for annual but with no description. Also, last update has made the app say it’s sorry to see me go every week I open it.. Please explain why. Only I’m on annual payments already and I’m not leaving. So explain the 9 payment option not just pick one out of all the same description.

### 3/5 — Hit or miss

*2026-06-28, version 6.15*

When it works, it’s impressive. However, sometimes with perfectly legible sheet music, it is not able to scan the different parts correctly, which can be very frustrating

### 2/5 — Sync Issues really cripple things

*2026-06-16, version 6.14*

All in all a decent app. But sync issues between devices really is problematic. Has been for a while - just look around on forums and such. To think there is a premium version pushed before basic functionality reasonably works is disheartening - but par for the course with apps now.

### 3/5 — Pretty good but makes mistakes often

*2026-06-14, version 6.14*

I use this app to learn choir music and while it’s pretty good, it makes mistakes on notes and rhythms fairly often. For example, I am working on a piece right now and it keeps reading obvious Eb’s as E naturals, which is huge problem. Because of this my practicing is way less efficient and I’m having to stop and play stuff by hand. I feel like I can’t fully trust it. It would be great to have a feature that allowed me to manually correct mistakes.

### 3/5 — Helps a lot

*2026-06-10*

Hi! This app reads for you and gives the sounds which helps to improve the reading
But sone tones it gives wrong tuning of the note on the scale. And sometimes it does not make the midi sound on what you are reading and that is a mistake that we dont want while playing

### 3/5 — Good, but needs a fix

*2026-06-08, version 6.14*

When I open the app, sometimes the subscription ad will not have an X button, basically forcing a subscription. Very good, though

### 4/5 — Good app for what it does

*2026-06-07, version 6.14*

I would like to be able to edit some things that are not picked up from a PDF scan. Sometimes it will #’s & flats. Would be nice to make small things that are missed at times. I know there are apps out there that will do this but being able to edit just a few mistakes here and there. A loop feature would be great also

### 3/5 — It’s good but…

*2026-05-16, version 6.10*

It’s fine. As a music student who uses this app to learn music (I learn more effectively by ear) it does the job. However it is in desperate need of an update. It sometimes plays the accidentals in the key signature, almost never plays slurs, and more often than not misses rests. This is quite disappointing for such an expensive app. However, it does do the job, it just takes a little longer. Please, developers, if you read this, let me know when you fix these issues, it will save me so much bother.

### 4/5 — Pretty darn good

*2026-05-04, version 6.10*

### 3/5 — 希望改进

*2026-04-14*

当PDF清晰度不高的时候识别会错误，然后有声部混合的时候也是识别不出来，遇到较专业的乐曲也识别错误，希望后面能改进

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Greedy for what it does

*2026-08-16, version 6.16*

Been a user since the beginning, suddenly they want yearly or monthly ridiculous subscriptions. For the price ForeScore is way better, what is odd is it won’t restore my subscription that I have had for years, how greedy is that!
Been a good run, but will be deleting the app.

### 1/5 — Purchased App Started Asking for a Subscription

*2026-08-03, version 6.16*

I purchased the app from the App Store in 2021 and have used it for years. Today when starting it up, it's no longer allowing me to access my music and is asking for a paid subscription. Is there any way to turn this off? If not, I'd like to request a full refund of the app that I paid for in 2021 if that no longer functions to scan music. Thanks very much.

### 1/5 — Kicked Off Account

*2026-07-21, version 6.16*

If your sheet music is at anything less than 4K resolution, don’t bother, because this app won’t be able to read it. It’s handy for some basic work, but expect a lot of mistakes. I bought the app years ago, and now they’ve kicked me off my account so they can bill me monthly. I guess there’s no support from them for the people who helped them launch their original service. Now they just want to reach back into our pockets. Despicable.

### 1/5 — I can’t get past the subscription screen

*2026-06-25, version 6.15*

I downloaded this app for one reason and one reason only, and it can’t even do what I downloaded it for. I’ve tried so many different apps to read my sheet music. I was hoping this one would work. NOPE. Right when I downloaded it, a free subscription deal got shoved into my face. The only two buttons on there were “accept offer” and “restore”. I didn’t want a subscription, so I did what anyone else would do and I clicked the only other option, but when I did, it said “no subscription found”. I just wanted to see what my music sounded like. You almost had another player until that stupid subscription screen popped up.

### 1/5 — Not free to use

*2026-06-25, version 6.15*

Free to download, but not free to use. Need a subscription to use this app.

### 1/5 — Bro

*2026-05-22, version 6.11*

I paid 5 dollars for this app initially. Over the course of 2 years, everything was perfect; it was all free, and even though it crashes sometimes, it was free. Now I have to pay an expensive subscription just to use it. What the hell. This is probably the worst glow down EVER for an app, why are they monetizing ts?? I PAID MONEY FOR THIS AND IT WANTS MORE?!

### 1/5 — Jumped back and forth between rows of staff

*2026-05-20, version 6.10*

I took photos of different pieces of music, and never could get it to work correctly. Also providing only six days off a free trial, and then immediately charging you, I don’t like that model.

### 1/5 — This sucks

*2026-04-04, version 6.10*

Whenever I take a picture of music I can’t find online it can’t even tell when it is looking at music and can only see/read/play a few notes and dosent acknowledge the rest of the piece overall bad don’t spend your money on this

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-03-12, version 6.10*

The app is so laggy and unresponsive that I could not capture an image of the sheet music.

### 1/5 — Makes you buy again

*2026-03-01, version 6.10*

I bought this app years ago and now it wants me to subscribe for a high fee to keep using it

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great now

*2026-08-13, version 6.16*

The scanner now works in normal light which it didn’t do previously and yes I have the same phone. Great if you are learning an instrument so you can play the track so you can see how it sounds. Oboe sounds pretty good as well

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful

*2026-08-08, version 6.16*

It is very impressive, it cleaned up my music sheet that was full of old comments

### 5/5 — Pretty good but I wish a few things

*2026-08-07, version 6.16*

Read through this all if you’re looking for an honest review :) I've been using this app for a little over a month now and it’s honestly almost perfect! I’m a 17 year old high schooler in the school band (I play percussion) and the marching season is coming up so I’ve been using this to help me learn how to play my songs and as a way to follow along as I play. The only major downside is how it can't read notations/etc. If there was away to manually input these factors I think that would be very useful. For example: since the app can't read if a note is if a sharp or flat you could just manually put it into the app so that it would know. Or something that I really wish was a thing would be changing the tempo throughout the music piece so when it would play it, it would automatically change it. Something similar to this is how it’s always one time signature. Almost all of my music changes tempo and time signatures throughout the peice so if I want to do just a full run through I really can’t. Also sometimes a tied note plays as two separate notes instead of one, so if there was a way to make a note muted, that would be helpful. What I’ve been doing is doing a screen recording of the song and just piecing it together in CapCut or another editing app which works fine. I’ve searched through many apps and this is so far the closest to what I was looking for and I think this is what I’ll be sticking with unless i find something else.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2026-08-07, version 6.16*

Brilliant app
Never had trouble importing.Notation with guitar tab tells me what it should sound like.Should state only app which is hands free. The repeat feature is brilliant, no foot pedal,no screen touch, winking, mouth movement required just sort the Coda.Still going to give it 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Another app ruined by greed

*2026-07-01, version 6.15*

Why ruin a good thing. I’m a long time user and after this last update, this app has become painful to use. I used to open music PDFs from my email directly from the share sheet but now it does not do that. Probably I have to buy a subscription for that feature to work now?

### 5/5 — Sheet music scanner

*2026-06-08, version 6.14*

Love this app…needs a few tweaks but, overall, it’s great for my needs…and pretty user friendly.

### 5/5 — 구독을 취소하고 싶습니다. 실수로 구독을 해 금액이 결제되었습니다. 환불 요청드립니다.

### 5/5 — Priceless !

*2026-05-16, version 6.10*

Invaluable when you see a little bit of notation in an article on blues guitar say but you need to audibly hear it as well as see notation for it all to sink in. I scan it in and the Sheet Music Scanner instruments internally are good enough to get the feel for the passage....

### 5/5 — Bass1

*2026-04-04, version 6.10*

Incredibly helpful.

### 5/5 — Does the trick and more!

*2026-02-16, version 6.10*

I’m a terrible sight reader, and can barely get my way through a Mel Bay book. This app is perfect for me, as I can snap a photo and get a “flight plan” as I work through a piece. I haven’t tested this app with a complicated piece, or handwritten notation, but for printed music and .pdf it’s great. I love being able to share a file right from the playback. Thanks for this useful tool!
