Every image you import is automatically analyzed, tagged, and categorized using Apple's Vision, Natural Language, and Foundation Models frameworks. Screenshots, photos, receipts, whiteboards, documents, signs, handwritten notes — Shelfie knows what it's looking at and makes it instantly findable. Shelfie can now spot new screenshots on your phone and bring them in with one tap. • Turn it on from the banner in your Library (or any time in About → Screenshot Detection). • When new screenshots appear, the Library shows how many are waiting — one tap adds them all. • Optionally, a gentle notification reminds you when screenshots have piled up, so they stop getting lost in Photos. • Detection runs entirely on your device, like everything else in Shelfie. Imports got faster, too. • Adding images no longer waits for the AI. Your images land on the shelf immediately and analysis carries on quietly in the background while you browse — watch the progress banner fill in. • If an image can't be loaded (an iCloud original that hasn't downloaded, say), Shelfie now tells you instead of silently skipping it. Focus the analysis. • Select a region of any screenshot to focus Shelfie's analysis on just that part — the description, tags, and details are rebuilt from the area you choose. Reset to the full image whenever you like. Plus the usual round of polish. ### 1.8 — 2026-06-26 Cleaner text, sharper everything. Shelfie now runs the text it reads from your screenshots and photos through Apple Intelligence to quietly strip out OCR noise — stray symbols and garbled single-character lines — before anything else happens. That cleaned-up text then feeds search, tags, summaries, detected dates, and links, so your whole library reads truer to what's actually on screen. • On by default and fully on-device. Toggle it any time under About → Apple Intelligence. • Your original text is never lost — if cleanup can't run, Shelfie falls back to the raw OCR untouched. Plus the usual round of polish. ### 1.4 — 2026-05-06 Make it yours. Tell Shelfie a little about yourself — what you do for work, your hobbies, the stuff that fills your life — and Apple Intelligence uses that context to write tags, descriptions, categories, and group names that actually fit you. A tweet about Kubernetes reads as work, not just code. A photo of a recipe lands in your cooking shelf, not "Other". A boarding pass for a city you visit often gets the right destination tags on the first try. • Tap the new info button next to the Library wordmark, then "Your context" to set it up. • Four free-form fields: personal, work, hobbies, anything else. • Stays on your device. Synced across your devices through your private iCloud container — Apple can't read it, and Shelfie doesn't send it anywhere. • Apple Intelligence uses it during analysis, group inference, and multi-image summaries. Free up Photos when you import. After picking images from your photo library, Shelfie now offers to delete the originals from Photos — keep the version Shelfie analyzed, save the storage. iOS shows its usual confirmation before anything leaves your library. A real iCloud sync indicator. A new banner at the top shows what iCloud is doing in the moment: connecting, receiving, sending, or analyzing items synced from your other devices — with a real percentage when local AI work is in progress and a clear error message if anything goes wrong. Tap the info button beside the Library wordmark to see your app version, current iCloud sync status, last successful sync time, Apple Intelligence availability, and quick library stats — plus links to support and privacy. A clearer "Apple Intelligence" suggestion. When several recent items share a topic, the editorial banner now has an explicit "View" button that opens search filtered by that topic.
