Shell had a great feature showing you exactly which car wash is touchless - and they removed it, ruining the overall experience! But there have been so many frustrating glitches with the app, from login issues, to “pump unavailable” issues, to other random problems. Probably not worth the hassle. I just spoke to a support agent who said the app is “in transition”. So why are you telling customers to download it for new offers??? Unfortunately, the app is often unreliable when you actually try to use them. I’ve repeatedly experienced the app freezing or locking me out while trying to redeem promotions on the last day, making it frustrating. There’s little value in advertising all these promotions if the app doesn’t work reliably when customers try to redeem them. ### 1/5 — Cannot Change Email! *2026-08-16, version 9.6.0* I have a car wash subscription and my Scene account linked but have recently changed my email. Their advice is to wait until my subscription runs out and create a new account. So I now have to keep an email address I want closed, open due to their poorly built app. No help offered. Time to switch to another gas station instead of using this poorly designed app. Update: Shell responded and advised I contact support. Which I did, and received the feedback that I need to close my account and re-open a new one. It has been weeks since I have been able to get the T-Mobile rewards to work. ### 1/5 — CANNOT REDEEM SCENE PTS *2026-08-25, version 9.7.0* I've called Scene many times, & they always say my Scene pts account is up-to-date, active & everything fine. Rather, it's Shell's app for not working properly w/ the Scene pts redemptions, & their cashiers don't even allow us to redeem for gas in-store (only on in-store purchases), which is INSANE to me. Been to 3 diff Shell locations, & NONE properly redeem even after restarting my phone, reinstalling this app, & following ALL the in-app prompts w/ NO error msg showing up, just my credit card being billed in the very end. AND Shell customer service lies--they never emailed me back on my case, AND it's been a week since I called to complain. After 5 different transactions @ different Shell locations, Scene pts redemptions NO longer work on gas. What a scam. ### 1/5 — Do Not Make iOS 17 Mandatory *2026-08-24, version 9.6.0* Hi. I just started using your app, but I see with your most recent update, that it will work on an iPhone with iOS 17+. You will lose many previous loyal users that love their older iPhone, or just can’t afford to purchase a new cell. Don’t do it….PC Optimum has lost many previous users because of that requirement. Think about ways to INCREASE your customer base, not reduce it. Then it’s not allowing me in.
