User experience is lacking *2025-12-26* it takes a long time to add books to a collection. Would be nice to see which books are already in the collection from that page. Would also be nice to have a notification of which books have been added to a collection when searching (to prevent adding the same book multiple times). Would be nice to click on an author’s name when looking at a book to see the other books you have for that author. ### 3/5 — It’s ok *2025-12-03* The app is ok. Sometimes it feels a bit clumsy. There is a large selection of content which is wonderful, but many of the audiobooks seem to be read by average people, not professionals. The quality of audio and quality of reader greatly vary. Some books are great while others are down right awful to listen to. I wish there was a way to rate each book so Sherwood would know if they needed to update a book. ### 4/5 — Love the selection, not phone function *2025-12-02* The books you can watch and listen to are wonderful, we love the selection, but just reading books is difficult. No matter the size of the font or spacing of the lines, the top and bottom lines are cut off each time. (iPhone 14 pro max) I can’t just have my 8 year old practice reading out loud. The only nitpick I have are there are some books with their chapters out of order. For example Alice in Wonderland. We began at chapter 1 and next thing we know we were in chapter 11. Then I look to see if I can contact someone or chat etc and nothing no number email or address. So even if you want to cancel you couldn’t either or change the membership tier you’re on ### 5/5 — For Students Learning *2025-06-03, version 30.0.3* I love the stories in this app! I will be using this app about Christian school to help our students learn while also developing a love for storytelling. ### 5/5 — Great for families *2025-05-30* I appreciate a book app that doesn’t have questionable content. I like that my non-reader is able to easily navigate. My kids have found books that they are enjoying. (Ages 4-15) I look forward as they add content- but there is a good amount. It’s reasonably priced. I really love that’s it’s low stimulation. I hope in the future they’ll be able to add read alongs for chapter books. (Words highlighted as they read.) Only con-The speaker is just a Bluetooth speaker, it doesn’t have any books on it. I don’t like apps like hoopla because the covers that pop up are so awful-and there is no way to turn those off. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t chromecast *2025-11-28, version 30.0.3* The inability to chromecast, can only airplay, is a dealbreaker for me. I have TV’s where only have the ability to chromecast. ### 1/5 — Offline use is terrible! *2025-09-05* I downloaded multiple titles to read and listen to offline, as we were in a 5 day camping trip without internet access. The very first night, as we turned on our audiobook that we had downloaded for this purpose, the app shut down and would not play or allow us to read any downloaded content. BOTH DEVICES. You can only contact via a from and no reply until the third submission. Customer “service” was horrible. Rude, arrogant and nameless. We were charged for months after cancelling and I had to demand a refund over several communications. They have no contact info and hide nameless within emails. Major red flags. I signed up as I aligned with the messaging but the values of the company sadly do not align. But when we began playing it, it is a woman’s American voice full of vocal fry and not nearly as engaging. I think that is unfair marketing and misleading. Additionally, I subscribed thinking it would have all the classics but when I finally was able to access the catalog there are several I cannot find. It’s so good for your kids, like for kids who are starting to read or don’t like to read this is the app for that you can buy a book and they don’t have to read it. They just have to follow along and listen to the book. This is definitely what your kidneys it has listened to books. One of my favorites is green amber but yeah, it says listen to books watch books and movies that are based on a true story and you can actually read the books so this is definitely what your child needs. ### 5/5 — THE BEST APP *2025-10-15* Hi, I just wanted to say that this is a really great app for kids all of the stories have kid friendly topics and they even have shows for kids six and under. They even have sleep timers so that your kid can listen to their favorite book as they sleep, and they won’t loose time finding where they were because the book has finished if you do turn on the timer.
