## What is ShieldTrack?

ShieldTrack is your personal safety network — built for staying connected and protected with the people who matter most.

Whether you're commuting home late, traveling somewhere unfamiliar, or just want your family to feel safer day to day, ShieldTrack keeps you and your trusted circle connected when it counts.

ONE-TAP SOS
In an emergency, hold the SOS button and ShieldTrack instantly shares your live location with your safety circle and emergency contacts — no fumbling for a phone number when it matters most.

YOUR SAFETY CIRCLE
Build a trusted network of family, friends, or colleagues. See where your circle is on a live map, get notified when someone enters or leaves a safe zone, and know they can reach you just as easily.

COMMUNITY SAFETY REPORTS
Stay aware of what's happening nearby. Browse safety reports from your community, and report incidents yourself with photos or video to help keep others informed.

EMERGENCY SERVICES, NEARBY
Quickly find the nearest police station, hospital, fire station, or ambulance service — right when you need directions fast.

SAFE ZONES
Set up zones for home, work, or school, and get an alert whenever someone in your circle arrives or leaves.

PRIVACY, DONE RIGHT
Your location and data are protected with a secure, encrypted connection. ShieldTrack never sells your personal data, and your location is only ever shared with the circle you choose.

ShieldTrack was built for individuals and families across Africa who want a safety net that's always in their pocket — because help should always be one tap away.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.42 — 2026-09-27

- Clearer live location status: see when someone is actively sharing, when it's paused, and when their pin last updated
- Tap the info icon next to "Location paused" to see why a pin might be out of date
- Live member count now reflects only people actively sharing their location
- Location history trail updates as new pings arrive
- More reliable location updates, especially on iPhone
- Clearer "Open ShieldTrack" button after confirming your email

### 1.0.41 — 2026-09-24

Safety Network improvements:

• Fixed an issue where a safety network member's location could look out of date even though they had the app open and location sharing on
• Locations that haven't updated recently are now clearly marked as "Location paused" instead of looking live — tap the "?" next to it to see why
• Reduced how often the app checks in while driving, saving battery and data without affecting how up-to-date the map looks

### 1.0.40 — 2026-09-21

- Map pins pulse green when a member is sharing live, matching the "Sharing live" status on Overview.
- More accurate last-update times for people in your safety network.
- Location History shows only the selected member's usual places on the map.
- Improved background location sharing so your circle sees you as live more reliably on iOS.

### 1.0.39 — 2026-09-20

- Messages now automatically clear their unread indicator when you open a chat
- Clarified that location privacy settings also cover your location history

### 1.0.38 — 2026-09-13

Safer sign-up and clearer live location.

• Show or hide your password, plus a confirm-password field
• You now appear as “You” in your safety network
• Members who are signed in and sharing stay marked as Sharing live, with the time of their last update
• Battery is only shown when someone is actually sharing a location
• Clearer guidance: choose Always / Allow all the time, and don’t swipe ShieldTrack closed if you want sharing to continue with the screen locked
