Love that I pay up front and don’t have ads or iap to deal with. It’s worth the price :-). All of the text in the game is very small and quite difficult to read when playing on a phone - would love if that could be changed. Also, in the Demons Rise games there was an option to hide the display of the health and AP bars during combat, and I can’t find a way to do that in Shieldwall Chronicles. The graphics look great, but are hidden behind these health bars and AP bars and movement indicators and such - it really takes away from the game. Would love an option to remove those from the display. ### 2/5 — Bug killed it *2019-07-09* I have several games by this developer. While I like them, they tend to be buggy. Here, after playing for several hours, my characters stopped gaining experience to rise in level although I could see that there were skills that were still unlocked. Given the choice between restarting the entire game or just bagging it, I opted for the later as I am too frustrated to do it all over again. ### 3/5 — Okay game *2019-06-18* I feel like the interface could have been done a little more creatively, having to navigate to a mini menu in order to select an ability is a little much, not to mention each character coming stacked with 4/5 abilities you know nothing about, I feel like there should be a natural slow character progression introducing those. I mean part of what makes TBS games cool is building a good team, and it not only takes the feeling of being close to the team you built, but also a progression for yourself learning the game. Throwing us in blind is how it feels. Also was somewhat disappointed this had little to nothing to do with shieldwalls, beyond having a couple shields in the game that would have been in one. ### 4/5 — It’s fine *2019-05-13* There’s a bug with armor (the stat) where your armor rating goes negative. I haven’t found a way to fix it. This is led to my team having something like three and four armor instead of 37 to 40. I could probably farm and just change my stats on items to be evasion chance to avoid this, or try a new play through. Update: The proper rating is reflected in combat I really like the old interface of demons rise I think this new game is probably more iPad oriented. And I sort of understand the new task bar due to items being able to cast to expand capabilities. Despite the weird user interface for a mobile game or transport, I was very much enjoying this. Having action points be rare on the item pool is different, but I got used to it. I’m not a huge fan of the melee skill and range skill, but it’s much less annoying with a bard and post level 5 or so. I love wave like games and I can recommend all of them including this one, but there’s no reason to recommend it on mobile over any of the other ones that I have played. The assortment of how things look was much cooler in DR. Vampire/Knight/Polar Bear (PB the best). Love the “branching” here though. ### 5/5 — Turn based rpg! *2019-03-08* Beautiful graphics and animation. I have all of wavelight games and this one is the best yet. More passives, spells and upgrades. All of the characters are good and you can use male or female characters. Generally males have more hit points, females more action points. Dev constantly adding new content and fixes. Try all the characters, you will be surprised how much fun they are. The centaur is highly mobile AND use either melee or range weapons. Nice to be able to manage team and move characters in and out of games. Best game rpg turnbased game for movile, get this game now! ### 5/5 — Great game *2019-03-08* This is an amazing game. The graphics are beautiful and the turn-based strategic battles are really fun to play. Also the developer is really responsive: I found a bug, and when I contacted the developer they found the bug immediately and sent out a bug fix the next day. And there are no in-app purchases. Just buy it once and you can play the entire game. I can’t recommend this game highly enough. ### 5/5 — Great Fantasy Turn-Based Tactical Game *2019-03-08* Great game, solid story, and many classes to choose from. Developer always response fast and adding new content, what more you want? I want my cash back! **Developer response:** Sorry for your inconvenience but the supported devices are the iPad Air 2 and later and iPhone 7 and later. Earlier devices cannot run the game. Please request a refund from Apple as they own the process and it cannot be done from the developer side. ### 3/5 — Line of Sight, Range opaque *2019-02-27* Provide a way to visually assess range and line of sight, and I’ll bump this to 5. **Developer response:** The system does show weapon range and line of sight. When you click on a tile to move, all visible enemies within weapon range are highlight in blue hexes from that position. That way you can see who you can shoot from any possible move position. Unsure why store front would say my iPad could run it when it fails to do so! Can’t even get go game menu! The inventory management is ridiculous, trying to deselect an item is like trying to kick toilet paper stuck to your shoe. Really? What happened to good old drag and drop? Seems to me like someone pasted a game over an engine. The App Store said my iPhone and my iPad were compatible with this game but obviously they are not. This allows for rapid switching between characters without bringing in grossly underpowered ones. I’ve got all of the wave light games on iPad, and they scratch an itch! From the narrative, classes, and gameplay, you can tell the creator is a massive fan of DnD. The story is compelling, leveling your characters is addictive, and choosing from a massive variety of items to equip is exciting. It can be a bit laggy and battery draining on max graphics but makes up for that, with decent animations and great voice acting. It's actually better than similar; this appears to be made by the same game artists. This game has a lot of 'meat on it's vones' as there are a ton of levels and characters to choose from- you for try many many different strategies. ### 5/5 — Omg wow *2019-03-18* Omg I’ve spent hours playing this game. Where to start? Great choice of characters, each with unique play styles. Not being able to choose their skills I originally saw as a drawback but now I see it as a strength: that elven spear lady really plays completely differently from a human spear wielder! Also different strengths and weaknesses, and sometimes even skills for male and female means you have many more characters from which to draw your ideal party! Also best of all, you can take out a character for a spin and then replace them if you hate it, all exp n items transfer over! Do yourself a favour and get this amazing gem. (And I strongly recommend the female bard for any party!) A pity it doesn’t run on my iPad Air 2 with 11.x iOS, but works just fine on an iPad Pro 10.5 (iOS 12.x) on max settings ### 5/5 — Another solid game from wave light games *2019-03-09* I bought the pc version but wanted to play this on the go. A solid turn based game. Very easy interface and nice story line. I have both demons rise 1&2 and this is a nice addition to the genre::::update- as usual the developer is willing to talk daily with his base and adjusts things in the game. Game keeps getting better!! ### 5/5 — Too many issues with turns hanging *2019-03-08* Same mechanics aa the other games from this developer, but with the gradual improvements from Strike Team Hydra rolled in. Just as good as and and providing as much enjoyment as the others. Does have occasional bugs but to be fair the developers have been quick to resolves (although their support mechanism is a bit opaque!).
