That is, except for the fact that it will not allow me to register Shiny Pokémon caught in games previous to B2/W2. I have so many shinies from HGSS through to BW that I cannot register as having caught due to this issue. ### 4/5 — My Favorite, but I have one suggestion *2025-07-24* This is by far the easiest and best shiny hunting app I have used. My only gripe with it is that on iPad you’re not able to use it in Split View with other apps. I want to be able to watch something while also using the app on the other side of the screen, but currently you can only use Picture in Picture while using the shiny hunt app full screen. If this change could be implemented it would be the absolute best app IMO. The only thing I wish could be added, is being able to go fullscreen on an individual shiny hunt. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Just kinda mid *2026-02-04* I was shiny hunting in sword and thought back to when I had an app to help me out with keeping track of the encounters. I managed to find the original app called “pokètch” and saw that there was a new app made by the same dev with even more features, so I decided to check it out. Immediately needing an account for a Pokémon tracking app was weird, up until I realized why. Monthly/yearly subscription. Now coming from “pokètch” I assumed the premium features would just be under a paywall, which is fine as long as the more basic stuff was free. I was immediately disappointed. Everything in this app to customize the most basic things is under a paywall. Not even a permanent paywall, a monthly subscription. I personally don’t like having the timer setting because it stresses me out and I can’t even turn it off like I could in the previous app I used. The Ui in the previous app is way easier to navigate and understand. Not to mention there’s no tiny buttons to check things like statistics, settings, or even when the Pokémon finally becomes shiny. If you want a counter app, sure this works but at this point your better off using a standard counter app or even using your calculator because they both function the same except this one has a fancy background and tells you the odds you have for the Pokémon. ### 1/5 — I can’t sign in *2026-01-19, version 2.2.1* I cannot sign in ### 1/5 — Fix this *2025-07-20, version 2.2.1* I downloaded this app because I’m shiny hunting in Pokémon violet but the problem I’m having is that it will not let me use it unless I put in my name. And when I do and hit done nothing happens. I’m just trapped at that screen. Even when I close out of the app it just puts me right back where I need to type in my name.
